I'm looking for ways to train my brain to be less sensitive to pain (as I live in it constantly), but all I find are videos saying "swearing relieves pain!". The internet sucks.

I am always suspicious of self-proclaimed experts, and "Dr. Col" is a prime example of why. A word of caution, folks: a quick fact-check reveals that his credentials are dubious at best. Despite his claims, he has no verified academic history at Oxford, and he is not a registered nutritionist with the BDA (which incidentally is a criminal offence and btw they are called Dieticians). His scattered online profiles paint the picture of a fantasist, with unverifiable claims such as climbing Mount Everest-there’s no record of him on the official list of Everest climbers-and even once claimed he was a Royal Marine, which is news to the Royal Navy.

Agree, it’s calculated by heart rate so if you exercise at a higher heart rate it then rates it as RPE so as your heart rate decreases as you get fitter the RPE is getting less each workout. That’s how I have read all the data on it anyway.
Yeh that's probably right. I've also heard it's done on rest too. As I'm training 6 days a week, sometimes two or three times a day it's not recording any rest, so puts your score down.
And without taking this vid into another domain,but this Dude serves his country in one of the most famous and elite Military Units in the World,is seriously injured & forced to retire due to injuries & he is then added further pressure ( indignity) of having to worry about having a roof over his head.. Now call me impertinent for inquiring but where are all of these NGO,Charity's,Social Workers,Lawyers,Housing officers etc to provide help for him as opposed to the illegals (minus their Documentation) arriving in the country ..They're really should be some kind of correct & appropriate Prioritization..
Keep going Terry, we can see your building strength and getting rid of some extra baggage before running increases volume. It will help towards preventing injury. Love it. Couple of weeks you will be using the hill that comes down into penarth front for your hill sprints. Loving it.

I thought I could do this too, and failed miserably 😂. Could run 1500m (100 odd metres less than a mile) in around 5 mins in school, but now I'm in my 30s my right knee swells up and i cant breathe through my nose 😂😂😂

Goretex shoes are great as long as you’ve got a gaiters on. As if water goes in over your ankle it’s not draining out.

Medipure body powder was recommended to me by a friend and never looked back.

@@Rokman haven't used them before but there are waterproof trail shoes available. The downside of these would be the breathability but if the ground is wet dealing with sweat intermittently using foot powder is definitely easier than battling against puddles in my estimation.
On a serious note. Pack your bag full of talc and dry socks. I got trench foot on my 50 miler as I only had one change of socks.
