How to project videos. Basically stuff I need or want for my home. I also do projects for my children and for profit from time to time. I am not a professional, but I feel I have something to offer with some of the techniques I have developed over the years. I am self taught and have learned from my mistakes. Hopefully I can save you from doing the same.

IT FITS!!! The slab was able to fit my planer and I cut the grooves for the legs. I break out a tool I haven't used in years and it worked great.

Very nice project, thanks for sharing.
You're welcome and thanks to you for watching.
is that a spiral bit or a compression bit ?
Spiral Bit
How did you get injured you didnt even touch the blade????
I had my finger slammed in between the fence to the right of the bit and the workpiece. Trust me, it hurt!
I feel your pain man…
Great video and exceptional slider. One thing, though, you can't have too many tools..
You're right. Thanks for watching.
Yes you made a better version where can I get the plan?
If you send me your email I will send them out asap. Thanks for watching.
Looks like a fun hobby as in going out to yard/estate sales to buy up drill bits. If I could implement changes in such a system it's a ratcheting system for the drill bit, or a system that you would hear & feel/get positive feed backs f clicks like a gun scope. So you would do the math on how many clicks you need to do, lock it down and then grind.
Thanks for watching.
Thanks
Thanks
Great videos!!!
Thank you!
Pretty slick. Simple, no-nonsense, and looks good. Thanks for sharing, the only other one I found was a fancy hand carved week long project (for me), maybe the Carpen-Tak channel.
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Is that the back of the frame you are showing to us (the camera) so your mounted picture and glass would sit in the "rabbit" but you measured the frame from the inside???
Correct. The measurements are what you need for the piece being framed. Thanks for watching.
@@JeffFischer1 But in the video you are measuring not in the rabbit where the picture and glass would go, but on the inside of the front of the frame itself...???
Just receiver their Stealthstop miter gauge that comes with one Stealth stop. My one SS slides in the track fine when flat, but when you flip out the tab to use as a stop, it basically locks in place and is almost impossible to move. And then the micro adjust absolutely will not move. I don't think they should be making these out of plastic. Just hard to get and hold tolerances in plastic. Particularly on something that a needs precision. I think I see the problem but wrote them and waiting for an answer before I do anything to modify.
I had a similar experience and did modify mine. Let me know what they tell you. Mine was relatively simple fix. Thanks for watching and good luck.
@@JeffFischer1 Well interesting. No discussion, just received an email they are sending me a replacement stop. You would think they would want to know more about my issues. Apparently, they have enough information and are just sending out new ones when customers have issues. I have been a WP fan for decades, but this is now the 3rd time I have had issues with WP products. Little frustrating, particularly given the premium price you pay. And again, I don't think this part is best made of plastic.
@@slhasebroock the good news is they are taking care of you. Thanks for getting back to me.
Two reasons: 1) spiral bit cutting up tends to lift the piece and the router bites it at the bottom 2) you seemed to rest it and slightly move it in the direction of rotation of the bit I would recommend that rather than touching the bit then start to move the piece, you establish the movement way before the bit has touched it
Thanks for watching. I had no problem when I routed downhill which I should have done in the first place.
This is brilliant! I was absolutely thinking about doing same thing instead of paying $700 for a light
Thanks Bill. They have been working since day one. I love the way they blend with the table. Thanks for watching and good luck with your build.
giant legos
I had that same exact thought. thanks for watching
Thanks
You're welcome
Jeff enjoy your projects and videos!
Thank you Steve! Appreciate your watching.
I am thoroughly enjoying watching this process. To be honest, I have been a subscriber for awhile but did not not take the time to indulge- now that I’ve watched this process I plan on going back through your content as I not only enjoy your thought process but can gain from your problem solving. Even if I can’t afford the same tools or accessories, I might be able to adapt in some way. I respect your thoughtfulness in how you enjoy your craft.
Thank you for the kind words. I never know what to leave in and what to leave out but you are right even though I try to work through the process on the computer something always comes up. Thanks for watching.
Great stuff!
Thank you and thanks for watching.
I created an L shaped adjuster with a nut imbedded in the wood and a wing bolt.. They are attached to the bottom of the track. They slide in and tightened into position. Each full 360 degree twist of the screw advances the fence about 1/32. I made one for the and right side of the fence.
Check out version 2 which I have since added Mag Switch magnets. Works great all day every day since I made it 6 years ago. Thanks for watching. ruclips.net/video/NX0NV5U97Nw/видео.html
I’m in Minnesota. Near Woodbury. Interested in the bench dogs.
Send me an email with your address and we can work out the details. jlfdrf@charter.net
I have another interested party on the dogs. If I don't here from you soon I am going to ship them to him.
They're 8.69 on Amazon for me. I want to try the 6060 Pica BIG Dry Construction Marker.
That's a good price. Thanks for watching.
They are great kits. I also have the large crayons for dimensioning lumber.
I have grandkids so crayons are not a problem. 😀Thanks for watching Patrick.
Love the box great job. I have to try and make one. Ty
Thank you and good luck with your build.
after watching this long winded video i could have order one from amazon and already had it.
Do you have it yet????
So, in early 2024 what conclusions have you come to, was this a workable idea?
Yes it is and was. I use it every time I get my shaper out. Thanks for watching. The only thing different I would do next time is wrap the tape over the edge of the board. The ends wanted to float up when I poured the epoxy.
@@JeffFischer1 I don't have a Shaper yet but when I do I think I'll follow your example!
It is a fine tool and expanded my woodworking possibilities. Expensive but in my book well worth it.
Doesn’t the use of a virtual grid and studio-designed lettering eliminate the need for physical centerline marks?
The virtual grid may not land exactly centered on the piece if its an odd ball dimension. Thanks for watching.
to error is human, not to really screw it up you need a computer
Hmmm, I have to think about that one for a while.
it should have read--->"to error is human, BUT to really screw it up you need a computer" sorry
nice setup
Thanks
I will have to try that
Good luck and thanks for watching.
Wow, well done good sir.
Thank you and thanks for watching.
I hate to be 7 years late, but I found this video looking for a recommendation for a resin (brand name, etc) that is used to finish a shuffleboard surface. I know a guy that is fixing to take an old one and strip it down and refinish.
The one I used was purchased at Menards. WiseBond Deep Pour epoxy. I know Total Boat makes a good one as well. Thanks for watching and good luck.
Like they say "If it's stupid and it works, iit's not stupid..😂
I feel a lot better now. Thanks for watching.
I ran into the same issue and fixed it the way you did. There's a reference to this in the forum in the Do Not Section of workspaces: "Set up your workspace beneath lighting that is liable to change substantially (i.e. outdoors with passing shadows) or with low-quality LED lighting". Glad you fixed it.
Thanks for the input and for watching.
It's a camera system. It has autoexposure compensation, but with such bright direct sunlight, it can't properly process the digital sensor chip information to 'see' the dominoes. Just reduce the brightness/contrast by blocking or partially blocking the sunlight.
Thanks for watching and lesson learned.
Jeff, Shaper user here. Yes, block the light. The Shaper only really needs the light it outputs. As soon as you showed your board I knew it had to be the sunlight. Sunlight is fine but that much contrast will make the SO a little dizzy.
Thanks. This was a new experience for me and I'm glad nothing was wrong with the unit. Thanks for watching as well.
Well nice video, but in my opinion, the phone cover probably are responsible for the error, because the cover are not made with 100%precision... But good job
Thanks for watching. The case doesn't effect the readout because once the phone is in place you "zero" out the app and everything is relative from then on. It works very well for a homemade wixey.
It's all in the details, slick setup :)
It's amazing how long I put up with reaching into that hole. Sooo much easier and handy to get to now. Thanks for watching.
Cool
Thanks for watching Darin.
Nice idea! If I build something like that, I will add an indicator light that lights up when the outlet is "ON". Switch position alone is not sufficient to keep me from making a mistake someday...
Thanks for watching and let me know about that indicator light idea.
Beautiful final result! I like to color choice for the felt lining.
Thank you! It really was a fun one to build and when they turn out the way you want that is just the cherry on top. Thanks for watching.
May i ask what app that is on your phone?
Precise Level. Thanks for watching.
Wow I am impressed by the phone. I always assumed they were way off!
Needless to say I was too. Thanks for watching.
thanks...good ideas
Thanks for watching Darin.
Hi Jeff, how well do your resin inserts fit? I find mine are flush to the main table in one area and then a little proud in another. It’s consistent across all my inserts.
Mine are all flush. Rotate your inserts 180 degrees and see if the flush point changes. If not then your table either has something jammed in where the inserts interlock and it needs to be cleaned out or you got a bad casting. IF that doesn't work I would talk with Jessum. They are a great tool company. Thanks for watching and good luck.
Thanks for posting this. I have the same lift and am getting the chatter as well. I'll be doing some maintenance tonight
I hope yours runs as well as mine. Quite the difference. Thanks for watching.
11:09 just me or does it sound like a donkey when moved? lol
Very Funny!! You are not alone on that one anymore. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing Jeff! What is your method to dial the fence to be exactly 90 to the blade once you re-install it? I can't imagine you do the 5 cuts method every single time, do you?
I have a woodpeckers 24 inch square that does the trick. Thanks for watching.
I’m in the middle of blade sharpening as of now. All of them which is every one of them planer, jointer, chisels planes.
Trolling through the YT stuff I found a video advertising a blade holding device for planers and jointers. Holds two blades. They sit in mortises which are cut 3/8” wide by whatever depth necessary and are inset into a brass square rod which has a groove cut dead center to accommodate the blade. It’s held by set screws. I didn’t see everything up close so my take on it could be miles off. He probably used threaded inserts to secure the blade in the frame.
I know that feeling but once your done going back to work is a lot more fun
hmmmm?? do you have a link?@@zenbooter
Where do you buy the rails on the top and front of the workstation? This larger work surface and leveling looks better than the SO workstation IMO. Good job.
Thanks for watching. The rails were given to me by a good friend but they can be purchased at any number of suppliers. 80/20 and T Slots are the first two that come to mind.
