Squier Jaguar Shortscale Bass Upgrades/Modifications
Upgrading a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special Short Scale Candy Apple Red with new parts and extra switches. Upgraded with:
- Fender Hi Mass Bridge IV Brass
- Allparts Switchcraft EP0055 Jack
- 3x Fender 500k Control pot Solid Shaft (Yep, I went for 500k)
- DiMarzio DP122BK (high output P-Bass pickup)
- Seymour Duncan SSJB-3B BK (high out J-bridge pickup)
- Phase Switch
- Tone capacitor select switch (22nF/39nF)
- Fender Broken-in Leather Strap
The magic word for this video is "OK". This guitar was around 250$ at the time of purchase, what seemed like a cheap bass to have fun with. For collecting/reselling purpose, it would perhaps be better to have left it original. The new parts and t...

TW02 Harley Benton ST-Kit Home Build Metal Monster Guitar
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.4 года назад
Transforming a Harley Benton ST-Type Kit into a Metal Monster Guitar. A lot of customization going on. All new hardware. The result is a unique guitar with a strat feel to it. All build at home, mostly in the living room. What isn't mentioned in the video: the front side of the body has a bit of silver dusted in the clear coat to make it more sparkly. Music by myself, at least it's something yo...
Jockomo Sticker 3D Effect

This shows how nice a Jockomo sticker can be when sprayed in the same color as the body. I found this out by accident and wanted to share it with you. It gives a nice effect. Music by myself. Track available for free download at: soundcloud.com/technowitch
TW01 - P-Bass Kit - Simple Sound Test

A bit simple, but it gives a good idea of how the bass sounds. 0:05 - 0:42 original pickups from kit 1:17 - 1:57 DiMarzio DP146 pickups 2:42 - 3:23 both pickups 4:09 - 4:47 both pickups phased Recorded directly without any EQ or effects. The strings on the guitar are d'Addario EPS165 (.45 .65 .85 .105 high res steel). The DiMarzio pickups have a lot higher output than the original pickups. The ...
TW01 Harley Benton PBass Kit Full Home Build
Просмотров 20 тыс.5 лет назад
Customizing a Harley Benton P-Bass Style Kit. A compilation showing all steps of the build shortly. A video with sound examples will follow. Most is done with hand tools. The only electric tools I used are a drill and a Dremel. In my excitement, I have rushed some things, mostly sanding. It plays excellent. To answer a question previously asked "Does it play as good as something like a Squier?"...

    For the movie and guitar performance! I have one question, what is this spray with which you painted the guitar?

    • @twhomebassguitar9466
      @twhomebassguitar9466 3 года назад

      I used metallic nitrocellulose lacquer spraycans. The clear coat is acryllic, as advised on the used spraycans. All regular quality, not the cheapest, not the most expensive.

    • @twhomebassguitar9466
      @twhomebassguitar9466 3 года назад

      @@fransanchezurrea3126 The wood is good enough if you're gonna paint it. Just fill any minor holes with woodfiller. The neck is good, also in other kits I have done. But remember, it is a cheap kit. You may have to correct pre-drilled screwholes and such. For hot rails pickups, the output will be high enough to take any kind of wood. If you are willing to do the work, the harley benton kits are more than good enough (apart from the cheap hardware at some points).

      Harley Benton doesn't have a short scale kit. I look at different kits regularly and I can't remember I have ever seen one online. If there is one from any brand, it will require some searching.

    I've ordered mine. Due to Covid it's on backorder for more than four weeks now but according to the Thomann site it's a matter of days now. I'm very curious to see how it compares to my Am. Pro P Bass. But at the moment the assembly and certainly the finishing is what I'm looking forward to. If it proves playable I will definitely upgrade with better pups and bridge.

    • @twhomebassguitar9466
      @twhomebassguitar9466 4 года назад

      I love the sound of Out of Phase PickUps. The Bridge Pickup is connected to a DPDT switch, || or X. It goes straight (+ to out, ground to ground) or crossed (+ to ground, ground to out). When both pickups are selected, it functions as phase switch. If one pickup is selected, you can't hear much difference. I hope this answers your question.

      Dank U. :) De pantserbeits van rambo als verf op de nek smeren, gewoon op het geschuurde hout. Lang laten drogen (meerdere weken) en opschuren met 1000 grid schuurpapier. Eventueel extra lagen aanbrengen. Voelt fantastisch en is goed beschermd. Wel uitkijken met lak. De beits echt als allerlaatste op de nek doen. Dun en voorzichtig. Je wilt geen druiper over de lak of het fretboard.
