CFM PhD student Ezgi Bal Yetim recently presented on her research at our first CFM Virtual Research Seminar Series. Her presentation titled 'Impact behaviour of precast concrete seawall panels reinforced with GFRP bars' discusses her research on the impact behaviour of concrete seawalls reinforced with non-corrosive GFRP bars. This research focuses on understanding the effect of different impact energy levels on the impact behaviour of GFRP-reinforced concrete seawalls caused by small vessels and waves during extreme weather events, such as flooding and storms, which cause structural damage and costs to Australian coastlines.

Her presentation titled 'Synthesis of P/N -containing fire retardants and their applications in Polyamide 6 (PA6)' discussed how she used green synthesized P/N-containing compounds to make a huge difference in synergistic fire-retardancy of PA6/aluminum diethylphosphinate.
