Talking Pictures Podcast - Episode 49: Our Favourite Christmas Movies
He looks and sounds so bad though
I like these in the past one shot stories in the comic series. Less is more. This could be the refresh the movies need.
Not gonna lie, gote curious
the comic was goated the movie? not so much
If they do the film right, it will be fucking incredible. However, imma keep my skepticism for now.
Good podcast, guys. Keep grinding, I think you'll do okay with youtube.
Thanks for the kind words, appreciate you having a listen and glad you enjoyed.
TLDR; We fans finally get a bone with a classic Hellboy story and people are upset because the cgi doesn’t look like Del Toro, im gonna kms It is just frustrating getting a comic accurate Hellboy film and all the community cares about is how the cgi doesn’t look “good enough” whatever that means. I don’ wanna gatekeep but are the people complaining even real fans. It’s a trailer and I doubt that it represents the finished product. I believe it still looks good and if we don’t at least give this epic story a chance then I doubt any studio will give us anything good ever again
People in the comments saying it looks cheap because it doesn’t look like the del toro version clearly aren’t cultured like us boys
Don’t like the way he looks.
Yes
I personally don't trust anyone who made the Ghostrider 2 movie.
The trailer looks really bad too
I don't know if I'm excited about this movie hopefully it be good
I’m excited about it. Mike Mignola worked closely with the creation of the project. My enthusiasm is here. I just want to see it now.
It's made by the actual creator and writer of Hellboy I'm curious to see it
I'm excited
This is the first time I've never been excited for a Hellboy movie. This casting is trash.
not at all, I hope it's good, I loved Crank 1 and 2 but Ghost Rider 2 was trash imo, I wish they would just get Del Toro back and this money at him or leave HB burried for another 10 years, surely Mike Mignola has other characters they can make a movie about
The trailer looks like a fan film but so did the Prey trailer and thats one of my favorite predator movies so hopefully this movie turns out the same. It being made by the guy who made crank gives me hope
...😅
I can't wait! 🎉
Hope they don't mess it up the cracks movies sucked ass ghost rider 2 was horrible
It can never live up to Guillermo del Toro’s two films (and it’s sad we probably will never get a finished trilogy) even if it’s more lore accurate, but it also can’t be worse than the 2019 movie and all it’s unfinished CGI, poor writing, ugly makeup, and hodgepodge story, so even with the low-budget look, boring grey color palette, and what looks like mediocre at best cinematography I’m trying to stay positive as a fan, hopefully they’re smart enough to at least fix the non-yellow eyes in post before it gets released. 🤷🏻♂️
As everyone else Bro, ya need to read the comic its so good.👍🏽👹👍🏽
Just saw the trailer, Hellboy: We’re Cooked Man. Looks absolutely terrible, fan films are better.
I’m super excited for the movie, the comic was great.
Yes and no
He needs yellow eyes
That's what concerns me with it they didn't even give him yellow contact lenses and when a film can't get something like that it worries me about what else they could get wrong, also the fact that they didn't really show off his stone hand and seemed to be trying to keep it hidden is concerning to me
@@geckokid8265literally none of the hellboy movies gave him yellow eyes
I unfortunately can't support this movie even if it's good. Fool me twice type shit. Its over unless you give us back what we wanted. Guillermo Del Toro!
I was
It's the shit
The upcoming movie is cooked. I understand it's a much smaller budget, but the production feels amateur; the color grading is beyond dogshit, and there's no intresting lighting; everything feels incredibly flat. And that's also coming off the fact that back in February the film decided to use CG to completely cover their fully practical villain design, and used AI generated art to create the look. The production house isn't known for producing any hits, being the same studio that produced the Starving Games if anyone remembers that slog. The only positive seems to be that the creator and his frequent collaborator wrote the script, but it really isn't enough to sway me into thinking this could be anything better than painfully mediocre
Foam stairs lol
Definitely not looking for this amateur hour film
I was OK with the David Harbor movie, it wasn't a certified hood classic like the Perlman joints. But it was cool.
Ron Perlman movies had nothing to do with comics and Mike (the creator of hellboy) hated the Perlman movies. David’s hellboy was badass and adapted two story’s from the comics
@@SpaceGhost2733the first pearlman movie was basically an adaptation of the seed of destruction. Anyway just because a movie adapts a comic doesn't mean it's good lol the 2019 movie was a Frankensteins monster amalgamation of the stories it tries to adapt and it doesn't do it well at all
Here my dumbass was sitting there thinking you were about to explain it, didn't realise until the end you were just genuinely asking 💀
First trailer looks great.
Super Jacked about this!!
The visuals are pretty bad and look low budget , and no offense to the new actor but I don't feel like he embodies Hellboy
none of the hellboy actors has emodied him well
@@youshallnotpass3937 Ron Pearlman was pretty good.
@@VenomCarson02496 to me he wasn't that great. He acts like a angsty and annoying teenager in his movies. He is also way too muscular in the movies compared to the comics. But don't get me wrong, I think he is great in his own way, but he is nothing like Hellboy from the comics.
@@youshallnotpass3937 Hellboy in the comics is very muscular he just has very underdeveloped traps and shoulders which makes him look more frail whenever he wears his trench coat, when he takes the coat off he looks a lot more muscular, Ron Pearlman would have looked nearly 1:1 to his appearance in the comics if he had simply decided to not work his traps and shoudlers, but I guess they wanted Hellboy to have that typical superhero body for the film as it was less of a horror film and more superhero action.
@@dolier2802 yeah he is big and strong but not really ripped. He is kind of skinny in the later comics.
Was excited when I heard a new hellboy trailer was out . Until I seen it . The movie looks like crap . Especially hellboy . Where’s his chin at ?
Very, very excited for this movie. I personally liked the trailer and the more “horror” type feeling it had, even if it had a B movie sort of look.
Yeah I feel like Mignola is finally getting the movie he always wanted irrespective of budget and I’m so here for it.
i guess that was his intention. not the del torro high budget version. i needed to see this kind of vision from the creator.
Movie looks so bad
The movie looks like 💩
It makes David Harbours version look tolerable
@@ADIAForever they need to just give it back to Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro
Hellboy the cocked-man?
The trailer looked terrible, looks like a fan film
Looks like a fan film and a porn parody
I think it’s just low budget
You're aware not every movie needs to have some insane budget right? As if Marvel doesn't spend that kind of money for the last 8 projects to absolutely fucking ass water.
@@GutsTheCaptainbudget or not my friend, it just looks bad. I’m hoping that due to the tighter budget they are able to focus more on the story, but for god sakes, Hellboy’s eyes aren’t even yellow. It looks rough.
@@GutsTheCaptain but one about a demon man fighting a evil ghost, you do kind of need a budget for, dude playing hellboy looks like he’s doing a bad cosplay of him
SoA over the top soap opera approach and playing into the biker subculture modern stereotypes unfortunately really put wrong angle into the perception of this movie. When it is completely different, the approach it takes is completely different, the Jeff Nichols' style is very different. I guess preconceived notions really hampered some people's experience with this movie. The real bikers really appreciated this movie in the reviews I have seen because of how realistic, honest and authentic this movie is. It captures the vibe of the early bikers culture really well. Nichols' movie is a slice of life type of movie, it's not directionless - it's very down to earth. It demystifies the myths of biker culture, it's character focused, driven drama and it's shot almost as a documentary stylistically.
Brain dead take
Appreciate you taking the time to comment man. Make sure to check out the podcast. New episodes every Wednesday.
Read the comic it’s so good
Minor correction: Sean Connery was 57 and Harrison Ford was 45 during the filming of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989).
Thank you for the correction. Appreciate the engagement.
@@talkingpicturespod No problem
REBECCA FERGUSON'S ILSA FAUST CHARACTER THAT WE LOVED FROM FILM TO FILM IS BEING KILLED OFF LIKE A CHICKEN AND BECOMING A CORPSE ON THE VENICE BRIDGE BY THIS FILM ‼️, THAT ALL I WANT TO SAY‼️😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Hopefully shes not dead and will be undercover and surprise us all in the next one, cant let a talent like Rebecca Ferguson go to waste.
@@talkingpicturespod yes , let's hope Your theory is right
I know its not explained in the movie, the maximals were introduced to appeal to the fans of beast wars
