Such a great movie, only to be ruined by Tom Hanks shooting his fat face off about how Trump will NEVER become President, then promising to move if he is, then he doesn't ... Democrats lying for effect since 2015. I would not watch this movie again to save my soul.

No BS super-powers, no tough man against evil, a story about choices and how they can change lives, a story about surviving against odds, and, of uttermost importance, a story telling we can rebuild ourselves, and look for meaning and happiness in our lives, while we are alive.

Maybe he wants to go "no where." Maybe that's better than we he has been.

After Kelley's betrayal, he should have followed that girl back to the house and told her his story. Who knows it might have meant a fairy tale happily ever after ending!!!! Kelley was a selfish slut....

I don't know if this makes sense, but the way she moved, talked, the attitude, the voice, the hair, the smile just seem to portray what a man sees in a woman.

I went to high school with lari white. I never saw her without a smile on her face and if anyone made eye contact with her she smiled and said hi. I didn’t know her personally but she was so nice everyone knew of her.

If nothing else, this movie is about relationships. The fact that he swims after a volleyball in the middle of the ocean attests to that. The most important thing in our lives are our relationships we share with others. Each of these relationships are destined to end at some point in time. So make the most of every moment together and don’t be afraid to start new relationships. In the end, you can’t take anything with you, so none of us really has anything to lose.

This scene reminds me of "Good Directions" by Billy Currington.

Fun fact .. . The reason he stared for a while is that he is taking mental photos because he went after her later. Clearly she is a local because she is packing light and has only a dog and a welder? They linked up, got married, and CA 2 was eventually scrapped.

Scott on Tape youtube channel brought me here to enjoy this ending one more time. Probably 5 or 6 times now for me. The beautiful music and his conversation with the pretty pick up driver is sad but nice to rewatch. What an awesome but sad movie for his character with no real direction to go. Contemplating his new life. So painful to watch. That is great acting and movie making. Need to get back to these great films. The garbage today is pathetic.

I koved the parody of the ending when he delivers the package, and he asks whats inside. The customer opens it and pulls out a satellite phone, flares, survival kit etc. that was a pretty great play on the ending.
