The new rails will not be quite at ground level at this point. This road crossing will be moved further south, under the skyrail. Apparently there will be a new pedestrian crossing around Mordialloc Collage too.
yeah, i figured that would be the case because of the nearby creek and the rail-bridge would extend to aspendale station(probably)
@@TheiLikeTrainsGuyIsMe Here is a ink to the project area plans. engage.vic.gov.au/lxrp-mordialloc-and-aspendale Station street will cross under the railway opposite Pine Crescent and reach ground level at James Avenue. The end at Mordialloc Collage will become a cul de sac.✌
They are removing the temporary level crossing at Warrigal road now. I'll go down to Parkdale soon and check it out. Hope to see the new station soon.
yeah same, im planning to go. the bridge looks fantastic
nice video. It will all be gone soon... so sad. I like the old station. ruclips.net/video/OH5G0OPGiHQ/видео.html
original idea for the video goes to AH137 so go check his channel out👍👍
sorry for the blurry intro, i had to screenrecord it off my mums phone from one of my videos🥲 edit: 2:41 ik i forgot to mention the gs2 ebell edit 2: i said wch gate mech twice😭
the crossing on the southern side has: 1x gs3 1x redback crossbuck 1x straight 2 tracks sign 4x westinghouse led lights 1x white with black writing "stop on red signal" sign 1x flat wishbone gate 1x wch(western cullen hays)gate mechanism 2x wch counterwieghs 1x unmarked base
Nice video! I like this crossing as the crossing equipment is arranged a bit odd, as you could have 2 sets of lights on 1 pole but 2 poles are used instead
in my opinion, the crossing at station st in carrum which has since been removed had a strange array of lights pointing in almost every direction. it was also the first crossing i ever went to so i decided it was my #1 favourite crossing. my #2 favourite crossing would be seaford rd in seaford which has also been removed. what's your favourite crossing?
@@TheiLikeTrainsGuyIsMe Huh, I just looked at Google Streetview for Station St, Carrum; and as you said there was a whole bunch of lights there. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the original lights from when the crossing was gateless, as the gate mechanisms were on a seperate pole that I suspect was added later. My top 3 favourite crossings are: #1: Webster St, Dandenong - This is my local crossing, and I just like the array of equipment there, along with the 1st and 2nd gen Westinghouse Hybrids. #2: Eramosa Road West, Somerville - Basically all of the equipment there is Westinghouse, and I really like the Hybrids and the EB gate mechanisms. #3: Anderson St, Yarraville - I really like the Barker Technics there, as well as the double lights on the eastern side of the crossing, which looks a little goofy.
Cool Vid :D Some of the Brighton level crossings are a pain in the butt to film because there's sooo many shops around lol
i know i hate it😤😤😤😤
I live in Brighton UK. Which Country is this in?
this is in australia melbourne
@LucusTheTrainGuy Ahh, thanks for that. I did wonder because cars were driving on the left.
@@mikeuk1954no problemoo
Nice video :D Honestly, some of these crossings aren't that dangerous IMO, such as Progress St and Latrobe St, but others like Webster St could be considered dangerous as I've seen people piling up on the crossing waiting for the traffic lights at Princes Highway.
yeah, i also have a concern for the sandringham line, for some crossings at bay st and church st(middle brighton and north brighton stations)those crossings are on a packed street so if the sandringham line does get put up for removal, i really wouldnt be surprised, judging by how most of the crossings are on busy streets
@@TheiLikeTrainsGuyIsMe I think the only problems with removing crossings at Middle/North Brighton is the space, as there would have to be narrow platforms, and also I don’t think locals would really like it and they would probably protest about it
@@pengo34789thats the same thing i thought when my dad asked "how will the government remove the boom gate at Highett?"
i just found out that the lights are WRRS(western railroad supply)incandesent lights
Hmm I thought only the cross arms were WRRS ones, and the lights were regular Westinghouse Incandescents. Either way, nice video :)
Nice Vid! I reckon this crossing is one of the more newer crossings on the metro network, as it used to be interlocked gates all the way into the 2000's
it was, if you go on google maps and set the date to the oldest you can(i think 2007)you'll see the road had been closed off i think it was closed for about 12 or 10 years
Nice vid! I was just here like a week ago and got a bit of footage here. These roundabout crossings are pretty cool to me, seeing how there's only 2 on the Metro Network, being Wickham Rd (Frankston Line) and Dendy St (Sandringham Line)
im plannng to go to new/dendy st soon. i always use google maps to find crossing to go to and i always use street view to find good positions to film😂 idk why tho
The funny thing is that that’s basically what I do too when looking for interesting crossings 😅
Wow!!
Some of those lights seem to be a little too excited, I have no idea as to why they flash so rapidly
thats what i thought when i filmed😂
This is a pretty cool crossing in my opinion, the only thing is that it sucks to film as the surrounding area is really densely populated with shops and buildings
yeah, i dunno how they'll remove this one with all the shops surrounding the crossing, if they want this one gone(which i personally find this crossing very congested)lxra would have to close down a number of shops for space for the new station
I think it just depends how they execute it, according to Wikipedia the preferred solution is having sky rail, so I’m thinking that they’ll probably keep it an island platform over where the current station is, but they will have to make it a fair bit smaller, sorta like Bell Station
*the mechs used on the crossing were wrrs gate mechs(western railroad supply)
i found at 3:54 the aboriginal xtrapolis🤩🥳
Nice video mate :) This is one of my favourite crossings, with the Mechanical Bells, and how 'badly' the crossing is put together (Equipment left unused, signs in useless places, etc)
yeah, when i was crossing to(i think the western side?) i saw the lxra sign on the floor and the armstrong rd level crossing in seaford(i think it was the eastern side) it was missing a crossbuck😂 boom gates these day mostly get better equipment during grade separations
I actually reckon the reason for some crossings missing their crossbucks is that people steal them, as there's no way it's gonna fall off naturally (e.g. a bell on top preventing it from slipping off); I guess people really like them but they shouldn't be stealing :/ Some crossings get newer equipment when being removed as they have to be moved (e.g. Parkdale LXRP), so they remove all the old stuff and chuck in new equipment I guess for reliability? Then again, some of that equipment has been working flawlessly for many years, so I don't really see the point of new stuff...
@@pengo34789yeah, i dont see a point for new equipment and moving the crossings if they'll be removed.
amazing
cool
thats cool
nice
Great vid
Cool🎉😊
sorry, its actually 6 wh led's on the crossing for the western side and 4 wh led's on the eastern side
thats nice
great❤
really good vid
Glad you enjoyed it
great video
Thanks for the visit
nice
Thanks
*note: this crossing is in the planning stages and i think will be removed by 2028 along with Bear st and mcdonald st in mordialloc and grove st/lincon prd in aspendale
