SurfEars - Let Sound In | Keep Water Out
It comes from just prolonged exposure to cold water. Sitting outback in winter letting cold wind blow around your skull, your ear canals try and protect your eardrum from the cold by the bone growing gradually to the point your canals are completely blocked. Im talking from experience. Had both my ears operated on 18 years ago, and now i have to go through it again. 99% blocked, both ears. I now wear plugs.
For divers, once they are in does equalising change? Do you still blow out?
The first thing I wander about. who came up with the idea for blue for the right ear? upon opening the case without reading directions I naturally assumed the red would be for right ear.Easy way to quickly remember when looking at the plugs, red for right? Makes no sense to do a red plug and stick it in your left ear.
But why does it do this, why does the bone form when cold water enters? How come you don't hear about people who swim or surf talk about vertigo?
I sprayed this haole in the face at Rocky point back in the 70's !!! Scrub 💩💪🏽
Why would someone get swimmers ear at an adult age without swimming so often but always in the same ear
anyone tested it
Thanks for the advice;)
Tom Carroll. The legend!
Everytime a Dr checks my ears I get a "WHOA are you a surfer?"
i thought that was tony abbot shreding for a second there lol
Heard about this now I wear ear protection. Good thing I started it doon
Nice. I don't swim much, or surf at all, but I have perforated eardrums. Because of this, it's especially painful for me whenever water goes into my ears. I need earplugs that are good at keeping water, not sound, out. These are hard to find because most people want the opposite, to keep sound out, such as at a gun range, and don't care about water.
Area between tympanic membrane and bone growth in auditorial canal. Protrusions that essentially narrow and block function of normal sound admission and water drainage. Difficult to clean properly. Exposure to cold waves and wind seems to initiate these bone growths into ear canal. Ear plugs and dry ears throughly after surfing. Left untreated the area could result in harmful bacteria and wax compaction zone. Neither conducive of good ear health.
Con los 3.0 no se oye bien y a mí me entra agua, y probé todas las medidas , los 2.0 son perfectos, no los dejéis de fabricar , conozco a bastantes personas que piensan lo mismo.
2.0 the BEST
It would be great for the video to actually show how to fit them correctly, considering that is the title.
Tom Carroll is the boss of all bosses
and they also work with equalizing for scuba divers? somebody uses it and can confirm that they will work?
Ojalá tener unos
are you only prone to surfers' ears if you surf in cold climate? I live in a tropocal climate, practically summer all year round. Do I need to wory about surfers' ear?
Guess so bro, been diagnosed and I´ve surfed in warm water all my life. I´m searching for an ear plug so I don´t have to be out of water, it´s been a while since my last surf.
@@bruno6288 thanks bro. Hope you are well now and ready to get back in the line up soon 🙂 let us know which ear protection you went for. Stay safe.
Wouldn't it have made more sense to make the right ear red?
Hopefully they are better than the 2.0 series which let water in !!!
hi I also found after about 10 0r so surfs small amount of water is leaking and I have an issue with water getting into my ear and for the cost it should be better than this! also the part that allows sound in has delaminated!!!!
I have a perforated eardrum, but I love being in the water, which means that I have to wear an ear plug. I tried tons of them, and then I found surfears2 in one surfing shop in Cornwall a few years ago and that was absolutely the best earplug I have used. Even I’ve been a little bit worried about the mesh, but it did the job, no water gone thru ( believe me, I got a proper phobia for water in my ear ) nothing like that happened. Only downside was that I damaged the mesh, which they say it has been improved with 3.0’s. I’m ordering 3.0’s today
need it 2 stay in my ear
Silly thought but I would have expected red to be right unless it was based on nautical port/starboard color schemes.
Red, right, return
I'm sold, are they available in Aus yet?
just saw them in ddwaustralia.com.au
Sweet, available worldwide online and in stores.
Can kids wear these
<3
Is it guaranteed to keep water out even during small wipeouts? I have a small hole in my eardrum and no earplugs have ever worked from completely keeping water out. Thanks. Dom
Hi guys got my set of surfears and all was good for the first 10 or so surfs, now I'm finding they are starting to fall out after a wipeout also I'm getting small amounts of water in to my ear canal which I cant have due to onset exostoses. Any ideas what to do? Niko.
Nik Demopoulos how did you get on? I have a perforated ear drum so can’t have any water at all wondering if they will suit? Let me know your thoughts thanks heaps. Dom
How do you take em out again, do you just pull them out?
@@staffffy1 hay mate sorry for the late reply , I ended up going back to blue tak as too much water was getting in, unfortunately they were a waste of money for me.
DEMOP GARAGE RESTOS thanks for the reply mate!!
