Nice vid thanks Roy. I have my eye on a Moody 31 currently and I'm in the Bristol Channel. I was wondering what the headroom is like? I'm a little over 6' 2" ?
@@Conks01 thanks for the comment, at 6 ‘2” you should be okay in the saloon but will have to mind your head in the forward cabin and aft cabin doorways
Discovered your channel and know Instow well. Based on the Tamar and keen to get to Lundy one day and may see you on a Halcyon delivery one day.
Love Cathrine's cameo!! 😂🍷
Thanks, still waiting to welcome you onboard MQ
Hi is it possible to get a boat drawing 1.8m to. Instow and stay on a mooring overnight I single 👌 a Sandler 34
Hi Ken, the Bideford bar is passable 2 hours either side of high water. Arriving at close to slack water is probably advisable for a first visit. There are no visitor moorings as such. Bilge or lifting keels can safely take the sand off Instow beach. Keels boats can anchor off Crow Point which offers good shelter even with a strong tidal flow. NDYC will make you most welcome and there is a ferry service in the summer used by crew to come ashore or return to their boats. happy sailing, Roy
My sister lives in Paignton Devon so I thought I would watch this person as I've never seen before, I injoy following people from the uk
2:03 Blimey! What a coincidence! I got a lift on a FJR1300 a few years ago!
3:05 Some of the urgent loads can be quite large? That's what my wife says!
My husband and I love moody yachts, like westerly they are very solid safe yachts. Well filmed and presented episode. I just subscribed to your channel
Fun fact: The Atlantic puffin is called "Lunde" or "Lundefugl" (Eng. Lunde bird) in Norwegian. Ms Q looks in good shape, you're looking after her well :)
Thanks, I'm fortunate to have Lundy so close to my home port of Instow, North Devon.
Wow! What a nice boat! I was unaware until your video of how nice this twin keel is…and the Moody especially. While cruising, do you seek out drying out spots to spend time? Thanks, scott
Thanks Scott. I'm obviously biased but I do like the Moody 31 and a bilge keel is important for me as my swinging mooring at Instow dries out. As you say, having a bilge keel does allow me to take to the ground in smaller harbours which dry out. Happy sailing!
Thanks great film
Idiotic music, why ?.
Hi Roy, hope you are well? I envy your sailing adventures. Nice video.
Hi Tom, great to hear from you, I still follow Sutton Maddock on FB, best wishes Roy
We Norwegians are everywhere. Another Viking raid? 🤣 Beautiful area to sail in. Hope to make it there some day.
Thanks and best wishes wherever you sail to in 2024
Nice boat! My first look at a Moody. Like that table. Does the B&G go down below as well as in the companionway? Thanks, Scott
Hi Scott, thanks for the comment, the B&G chartplotter is only with the instruments over the companionway, I use my phone or iPad with Navionics at the chart table. Regards, Roy
I think in the future the robot will replace you
Nice to see. However I am concerned about the safety of blood bikers particularly when speeds in excess of the speed limit are concerned. I know that emergency vehicles can be driven at excessive speed above the legal limit when necessary but can blood bikes? I am also aware that there was a recent case in the Appeal Courts where a following the death of a blood biker and where speed in excess of the legal speed limit was in issue the Judge found that as the speed limit had been broken then the blood biker was breaking the law. I know that I have simplified those circumstances but where does that leave blood bikers in relation with the law of speeding and other laws relating to traffic legislation, at traffic lights or zebra crossings etc. .
Thank you Rose for your generosity, bless you.
Great video. I used to ride blood bikes in Somerset & Bristol area. Did it for 10 years whilst still working full time. Very rewarding but also very tiring, especially when you get a job in the middle of the night.
Great joob!
Fabulous work Roy, brilliant job!
Thank you Blood Bikes everywhere for all that you do
Great video, use to do Blood Bike Leinster,we rode R1200RT-s
Wanted to hear the engine 🤔😥
Was looking forward to watching this.....then the music 🤔
Great service giving your time to help sick people who need urgent medicines. Thank you and your colleagues for providing this invaluable service. 👍👍
Do any other countries work the same way, with volunteers delivering blood?
Awesome service. Looking at doing it my self one day.
not all jobs are about the money )
