A Musical Tour of the Basque Country - Bidaia
We saw the group Bidaia in the Scottish Borders last summer where they played for then First Minister Nicola Sturgeon among others as culture ambassadors of the Basque Country and were excited to have them accept our invite to return to the UK for the Bright Ideas Gathering.

Many people think that music is a particularly “powerful” cue for bringing back memories from our lives. But it is still not well understood as to why music might be a particularly good cue for such memories. In this talk, Dr...

"Only humans have Alzheimers; no other species on Earth." If it were simply all related to ageing, then why isn't it seen in elephants or tortoises or whales? I do have to ask the glaringly obvious rhetorical question: why are our taxes being pumped into pharmaceutical company investors' coffers to find 'a cure' rather than focusing all efforts on eliminating the root cause? That aside, I do think this red-light therapy is cool. I'm wondering, though, if an hour outdoors without the factor gazillion sun-blocking products might be equally as beneficial?

Wouldn't things be easier if the whole curing business wasnt based around making huge profits. It leads to false hope, healthcare bankruptcy and ultimately privatisations and the wrecking of people who think outside the box. Their is a very dirty system in many industries of destroying alternatives from engineering (thunderstorm generator) to historical discovery (Graham Hancock) to many therapeutic ideas over the years. I remember when taking vitamin supplements were considered crankary. Now it seems correct use of Vit D has been much better than the recent big pandemic therapeutics. Cant make money off vit d.

This is the lunatic who spread disruptive conspiracy theories during the pandemic. For example, telling people not to comply with safety measures, and encouraging them to go into hospitals to "Document the truth" which was just bothering the busy staff. All because he thought the pandemic was fake. This guy is the last person who can educate anyone on resisting online manipulation.

Boomers, oh Boomers, what have you done? Your actions have caused chaos for everyone. You had the power to shape the world anew, But the future you've crafted is a bleak view. You've plundered the planet with your greed, Destroying the beauty that we all need. Your love for profit has caused us all harm, And left us with a planet that's out of charm. You've robbed us of our economic security, Leaving us with a debt that's a huge liability. Your corporate greed has left us in debt, Unable to escape from this financial set. You've created a society that's built on hate, And left us with problems we can't even debate. Your lack of empathy has caused us heartache, And left us wondering if our future is at stake. You've ignored climate change and all its signs, Making our world a place that's hard to find. The effect of your actions on nature is profound, It's time we act, or our world will soon be drowned. Boomers, oh Boomers, what have you done? You've left us with a future far from fun. It's time for you to listen to our plea, Before we send you to the worst homes there can be. Our picket signs held high in the air, We chant and shout, with righteous flair, Calling out the boomers for their greed, As we demand a life they take for granted, indeed. The cost of homes, it's a hefty weight, With years of work as the entry gate, Just to make a down payment small, And dream of a life without financial brawl. We won't sit silently while the boomers live, Lavishly off what they choose to give, We demand affordable housing for Millennials, So we can finally break free from these financial ills. No more will we suffer while they thrive, We'll picket and fight to keep the dream alive, Picketing till our voices are heard, And the housing crisis is finally reversed. We won't be silent, we won't bow down, Till our homes become more than an overpriced town, We'll march and shout, till we're finally heard, And justice is given with a conclusive word.

One issue with government based monopolies is the top provider who wins the contract has a chokehold on the network and infinite lobbying power to continually shift things in their favor, vs the consumer's favor. No one has ever figured out a way to weed out corruption and bribery from easy-to-target gov-based choke points. It kinds of works when the infrastructure is available to multiple competing companies, but it really only works when the infrastructure is available to all companies, without entry fees and legal expenses that only 1 or 2 companies can afford.
