I was there! They rocked that place!!
I had the great pleasure to be at this concert which I'll never forget!!! I was 20 and just turned 61 a few days ago and can't wait how time truly flies!! Phil put on an extraordinary performance that night!!!❤

I was at this show, and almost got crushed to death!😰 We were in a giant crowd, outside the main gate, waiting for the gate to open. The crowd grew and grew, until we were all packed together likes sardines -- literally!😫 By the time I realized what was happening, my arms were already totally pinned to my sides and it was too late to be able to lift them up at all. Some opportunistic dudes grabbed feels of us girls' asses, while we couldn't really move to do anything about it.😖 After a while, those of us who were a bit shorter were becoming oxygen-deprived because we were only breathing everyone else's carbon dioxide exhalations.😵💫 Then finally, there was a movement at the gate as it was about to be opened, so the WHOLE crowd surged forward dramatically. Everyone was SO tightly packed together, that the ENTIRE crowd was moved toward the gate all at once. No one had a choice. We were all just thrust forward. The problem was, that the top halves of our bodies were pushed forward, but our legs and feet were NOT able to follow --- because everyone else's legs and feet were a tangled mess right in front of us. Everyone was leaning forward, but not able to get ANY secure footing without stepping on the person in front of them!!😳 We were all hopelessly trying to untangle our legs & feet, when the gate finally opened. That created a mad surge forward, as people in the front started running through the gate. I, however, was in the middle of the crowd, and still totally sardined in. Suddenly, the crowd moved forward SO fast, I needed to move my feet but there was NO WHERE to put them, unless I stepped right ON somebody. So I clenched up my ab muscles as tight as I could, and LIFTED UP MY LEGS so they were no longer touching the ground at all!!😱 This enabled the top half of my body to be carried forward by the press of the crowd, while my legs were kind of dragged along behind me, over top of other people's legs and feet. But, at least I didn't step on anyone! If anyone had gotten stepped on, they could have EASILY been dragged to the ground and trampled by the crowd going over top of them. And barely anyone would have noticed, either --- only the people right next to them would have even known someone went down. So, I literally surfed🏄♀ the crowd, holding my feet up off the ground, until the crowd FINALLY thinned out enough to be able to put my feet back down on the pavement!😲 It felt like a miracle to survive. There were injuries at this show, but at least no one died! This show happened less than 3 years after the infamous Cincinatti showed that killed 11 people -- so, a lot of us had that on our minds. A lot of us already felt bedraggled and bruised before the show even started.😕 And then, when The Who finally started playing, there was more pushing and crowd-surging inside -- that's why Roger tells the crowd to move back at 2:41
I'm a big fan of Jerry Conway on drums but can you imagine how amazing the shows would have been with Barrymore barlow?
I was at this show with my daughter and two friends . What a night . Never thought I will see them live and when I learned just two days prior about the show I summoned my friends and my daughter and we all went to the show. Will carry this memory for the rest of my life . Thanks for the upload. R.I.P. John
Saw in California 2004(?
Awsome version of N.BURN tight fusion tune😊
Que privilégio ter assistido Victor Assis Brasil. Obrigado!
How did they ever get convinced to drop the everyday man’s blue collar jeans and tshirt to wear these horrendous “Merry Go Round”/ Chaps outfits !? ( although Chaps does remind me off some girls is poorly hit on and I still love “Heaven Scent” to this day !
Kenney is so good here.
LINE UP...LINE UP...❓❓❗
Nice to see a chunk of the other night at SHEA. As a diehard Who fan, I love bootlegs. I’ve collected the band’s official releases over the years . The last one being the SDE Lifehouse/Who’s Next. Bootlegs give fans the opportunity to enjoy additional performances by their favorite arts. Studio outtakes allow one to appreciate the creative process . Contrary to popular belief, bootlegs do not take money from the artist. A true boot contains material that the band have never released. The music is unique to that release. Most bootleg collectors are huge fans of the band and have all the commercially released music in their collections. Moreover, when and if the group decide to release previously booted music officially, I buy that release as well.
It was awesome
I like this more than the official release, this is one camera angle and the experience how to enjoy the show in real... How did you smuggle your camera inside man... this is gold.. thank you so much...
I was at that show! In believable. I reall went to see the clash and The Who were just a bonus to me!
I went for the Who and the Clash was the bonus😂
It is not the same without Phil, or even Chester on drums.
Saw BX at the Roxy in late seventies with Collins. Magic. K Dennard is the only drummer that compares to Phill with this band
Every player in their own private groove. This is why your girlfriend doesn’t like fusion. She knows better.
Love 💕 Gino
Old Song....bellissimo
This is killer shit ! I saw them in Central Park opening for John McLaughlin ,but the guitar player was sick . It was only Percy, Robin, Morris and I don’t know who was on drums ? They still killed it! I liked them more than McLaughlin . It was the first time I ever saw a bass player with a rack . I never got to see Weather Report with Jaco ,but I’ve seen Jean Luc Ponty with Ralph Armstrong fret less masters ! And you can definitely add Percy Jones to that list !
John Goodsall (RIP)

Were there any women in the audience? Who wanted to be there.
This is when the who sold out completely
GRACIAS !!!
I always thought The Who was great with Kenny Jones on drums. He's much more exciting than Zak Starky. The Who is less exciting with Zak.
Oh no. The 'underrated' nonsense has jumped to French. In no way, shape or form is Pete Townshend "underrated" or "sous estimé." He is revered widely and deservedly for being one of the most important guitarists in rock history. Please, please, please stop with the "underrated" nonsense.
Gracias Jon Anderson! Gracias por subir esta joya!
Everybody dressed ugly in the 80s
Ugly ? You see things backwards. That suit looks great on Daltry. The rest of them look great as well. People dress ugly today.
Dez!
I remember scoring this on a bootleg called Starting Over back in 88 or so !! Converted it to cd and still listen, Amazing find

I was there.
Interesting pre - version of Midnight Sun. More a synth - ballad with drum machine. Real drums only at the end.
Amaaaaaiiiiiizing! <3
Still on a musical and energetic level that only a few have achieved: Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa (at his best), the original Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return To Forever (the Di Meola years), Weather Report - nowadays The Aristocrats, Snarky Puppy , Phish (sometimes) ...
