Grand Memories Holguin - Golf Cart Ride to the Plaza Polimita #CubaVacations
There is a little plaza extremely close to the resort. It is definitely within walking distance but we took a golf card from the resort. The drive was less than 2 minutes. It's fun to pop over and look around. Definitely worth checking out.

After many vacations to Cuba over the last 15 years, we like to take gifts. As we've made friends, we've been able to narrow down what we like to gift based on their suggestions. Gifting is very personal. Really, whatever works for you will be thoughtful and appreciated. If you are looking for some specific ideas, I'll share some suggestions from my most recent trip.

We travelled to Grand Muthu late January. We ate all the a la cartes, el jardin, the snack bar and the buffet. We even ate in the little square plaza on Cuban Day. This video will give you an idea of the types of food and the a la carte menus with pictures of their entrees.

@davek7303 Limited options. The food that was available was decent quality. We did take some items just in case. Wraps. Canned chicken. Etc. We thought if we need it, we will have it available to eat. If we don't need it, we can give it as gifts.

Does anybody know why Canada doesn’t supply Cuba with food supplies. I understand why it can’t come from the US.
Cuba is just messed up country or else they can even get all supply from mexico too but they just like their ppl to suffer We were there last month and it was disaster Absolutely no eatable food at resort,,, No milk No eggs No veggies No cereal and gross toilets at resort It was survival game rather then vacation, Never ever go to CUBA

Very informative series of videos. I rarely subscribe to anyone in the travel influence world. But I loved these videos, the best I have yet to see on this lovely resort. My wife and I are just getting our sea legs back in the travel world after six years, but you have really helped me out in my research big time. Great series and I hope you keep up the travels

@@olgamiraj9236 We were not bothered by mosquitos. We didn't notice any algae.
Nice video, very informative as I have not only subscribed, but book marked it for future research as my wife and I plan to go to this resort at the end of Sept. My question is, did the hotel reception have any questions concerning marital status? My wife and I are legally common law in our sixties, and I have read that some resorts turn away unmarried couples. We haven't been to Cuba since 2018. So a little rusty. lol
No issues. My partner and I have different last names. No concerns.

Great video! Very detailed and well explained. I found an amazing deal for this resort with Sunwing all inclusive from Montreal for only C$645 -seven days. I am about to book but I’m wondering why it’s so cheap. I understand the food in Cuba is not that great. I can see in your video food seemed pretty repetitive and limited but I am not too picky. How was the noise level at this hotel? What about mosquitoes? Is the WiFi good? I read on the reviews that many families and kids would go over to the sanctuary side so there was a lack of enforcement from staff about the exclusive sides. I want to book the adult side to be away from noise and kids. Did you guys stay on the sanctuary side? And what was your experience like? again thank you for this wonderful video. I love how detail oriented you are.😊😊
@Busybeeee We stayed on the Sanctuary side. When we were there were zero kids on the sanctuary side. The wifi was strong. Our room was located near the disco. Was a little loud in the later evening. We loved the location and didn't want to move. Bring snacks and food. Easy travel things. I'd suggest wraps, some canned meat, and condiments for sure.

Wow! This is really impressive and inspirational! God bless your kind and generous soul☺️I was in Cuba in 2022 and speaking to some of the staff at my resort, I realized how little they had and how desperate they were. I am thinking about going back to Cuba in September and this time I want to bring a suitcase of gift. I considered just bringing money, but then I thought that some of our items are not available in Cuba and they would be more than happy to have them. Thank you for this great video they brought me much inspiration, and great ideas.😊😊

Items they need are more useful than money because most if the time they buy the items because they're not available. Kids medicines and adults is extremely useful. Toiletries and feminine hygiene products. Newer clothes even warmer clothes because they get cold at night. Baby blankets or Fleece throws. The list can be endless!

Stairs and elevator. You can choose.
First week of June going to Sanctuary for 2 weeks . Mosquitoes and flies were manageable at the time of your visit? I enjoyed watching videos!
Zero mosquitos and flies bothered us. We took bug spray just in case. We didn't need to use it at all. Not even once.

No coffee shortages when we were there last month. I honestly didn't even notice the coffee maker in the room. I got mine at the Sannctuary coffee shop daily (beside the Sanctuary reception).

We were at Sanctuary in April 2024 (about 3 weeks ago). I have not been to Tryp. I am always looking to try lots of different resorts. We try to travel 1-2x a year, if possible.

I didn't take any videos of my room. We did ask for a pool view and at 1:54 in the video, you can see our view from our room.

How were the rooms & a/c?
My room was lovely. A/C was fine. Our traveling companions room smelled musty. Their A/C was fine.

Our room had a view of the pool, was clean and everything worked fine. As in all resorts in the tropical climate, there are rooms that have a musty smell. Was there something in particular you were wondering about?

When we were there, water wasn't an issue. When I wanted extras I searched down the delivery truck and asked.

May I ask what type of coffee pods are needed for the room please?
Nespresso. The original style nespresso pods. Normally I would encourage everyone to try Cuban coffee. I find it immensely satisfying. However, with the supply shortages I now encourage bringing a pack of Nespresso pods (or 2). For those coffee lovers, better safe than sorry! Coffee can be a very important start to a good day!

Beach was beautiful. There were some food & drink mix shortages. Consider how flexible you are on food and drinks.

The beach has lots of loungers and lots of shaded palapas. We had no trouble finding either.
Do they clear the seaweed on the sand … seems like a lot in the morning

Did you need converters for chargers for your room?
We didn't need converters. We charged cell phone and tablet and I used my hair straightener.

You're welcome. Breakfast was the meal with the most unusual choices. We preferred lunch at SeaSky and waited for pizzas or at El Jardin.

I do have one tip, don't stay in the resorts, go out, so you can see the situation of the Cuban people, who are being victimized by a dictatorship supported by tourists like this.
Attend some of the activities the resort holds to meet people. Chat with people on the bus on the way to the resort.

This was January 24-31, 2024. Mosquitoes and no seeums didn't affect us. I did have one bite on my ankle at the end of the trip. We only made one show and we enjoyed it. We are very early risers. After a long day of sun and drinks, we found it hard to stay awake.
