Love this scene! One of those dialog scenes that make part 1 so different from part 2, where dialog/tension and atmosphere isn't in focus anymore.

Something I noticed about Lady Jessica and Thufir is that although the situation presents itself quite a few times, Lady Jessica never says a single word to Thufir in the entire movie. She always just ends up staring at him😆😂😂

I am not entirely happy with the decision to not show much of Thufir Hawat -- the Mentat to Duke Atreides -- in Part 2. He has a larger part to play than what they showed, based on the books. But they decided to focus instead on the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood -- likely because they wanted to prepare people for the 'Dune: Prophecy' series that they probably already knew was going to be made. They surely could have given Thufir a measly 60 seconds of screen time without too much trouble.

This scene hits so different after knowing that Paul's actions would results in the deaths of over 6.1 billion Yet his father would have ripped the galexy apart to protect his son. His son ripped or apart to avenge his father Who, ironically, never believed in revenge That line "-_- you'd deprive us of your talents at this time?!" For so few actual line, Oscar was incredible perfect Duke Leto, firm but fair. Not lashing out, not even giving a true response out of emotion, but reminding him of the situation "um dude. Tf you talking about quiting for WE HAVE WORK TO DO" Makes me so upset he was wasted in Star Wars

Thufir has served the Atriedes family for 3 generations as their mentat, so for him to have missed this feels like the biggest failure for him.

That is one of the things I loved about how the Duke reacts. It is a true leader saying I want actions not words.

Of course Isaac’s delivery is incredible and Ferguson’s aura is dominating with just a stare, but the pain in Henderson’s demeanor really sticks out to me. Honor isn’t just some abstraction to this culture, it’s the binding glue that gives life meaning. Thufir has just had that taken from him, and he’d gladly die for allowing it to happen.

You can 100% tell that Duke saying "fk your honor, I need you" is exactly what Thufir wanted to hear.

If he yelled at me that way I would melt......

I love that they made him say the line out loud. In the book, his inner monologue repeats "They have tried to take the life of my son!" To emphasize how angry he is. It's a great little nod to the source material.
