You captured the light wonderfully! May I ask why you used the white Posca pen instead of white oil pastel? I was very surprised to see it holds on to oil pastels, never thought it would since it's acrylic paint. Love your work, I really enjoy watching ❤

Why do you classify Neocolor II as an oil pastels? They are WATER-SOLUBLE WAX pastel, leaning even more close to a crayon than to a pastel....

The stick seem so unmanageable . But you don’t seem to be having much trouble. What happens when you lose those edges? What paper are you using? I see paper is Clairefontaine. Is it smooth, it has to have some tooth? It also seem you must blend with your fingers all the time. Not sure what I am watching . Your certainly adept and experienced. I would like to see what you do when the sticks are worn? And rounded.

Thank you for sharing this. Recently I tried for the first time to paint a portrait on Sennelier paper with oil pastels from Sennelier and Caran D'Ache. Oh la la ! Shame on me 😅 ! I need a training and will train on less pricey paper. About this Strathmore I like a lot toned paper for portraits. And it's interesting to see this Strathmore is 300gsm.

How long have you been working with oil pastels?! Does the paper make a difference?! I usually use Pentel brand and regular Kraft paper. In Brazil, artistic pastels are very expensive.

What pencil do you use to draw the figure at the beginning?
