The problem with these issues or rather these people that focus on these issues is that they get so caught up in the false belief they can find "the solution" that they lose sight of reality! Harsh critics would simply call this delusion. The same kind of delusion that people in powerful positions have always been vulnerable to. In the past this was more understandable because they would live in a bubble and so their perspective was colored by their experience, which was limited. Today that reason doesn't hold and there is a huge irony here! Social media and tech companies generally are focused on ever improving sales, ads and clicks. To do this they have developed complex algorithms to feed consumers just what they want, which includes what they want to hear.
