Coldplay performing their massive hit 'Viva La Vida' live at Parken Stadium (50.000) on the stadium tour 2012.
Roger missed the golden opportunity to say to Marie "you ARE a meal".
Roger's reaction is priceless.
Emil knew exactly what he said 😂
"What? It's true."
Megan's father was taking about his own experience, then he protected in Don and Sally
Roger would never say that even near a kid. Accidentally ? Bullshit. Her dad said that kind of stuff a lot
The creators and writers filled out the character of Roger Sterling so well and gave him some of the best lines in the series. He feels real and mythic. I feel his character is as much an archivist's reconstruction as much as the artistic design and office culture of Mad Men. I vaguely recall there were, once in this world, indolent, privileged, cultured men in authority, who balanced charm and wit against condescension, a man from a time when you rose through privilege and natural talent, not hard work and carefully studied methods. We live, now, in the jungle of the meritocracy governed by people who test well.
Holy crap. I salute you, Sir.
@@blueberry7keysI second that. This man truly has a way with words
Roger's laugh at the misstatement kills me every time.
go go boots were also used to show a girl being "grown up" in the wonder years
Oh that’s right, didn’t Winnie wear them on the 1st day of middle school?
😐....🤣🤣🤣☠
At first, I thought the kid running in the opening shot was Don high on speed.
Megan’s mum is so darn beautiful
He meant what he said. No Frenchman would not know what that meant. Anyone would know the difference between legs and wings. In really poor taste. I guess he was a pedophile in disguise.
"I didn't tie that one either." Roger, he is one smooth operator.
that actually might be the funniest scene
There is a line Emil, and you wet it ...
As brutal today as it was then.
Roger hesitates to look away from Marie after he shakes her hand, Emil is shooting mental daggers at him as she helps him tie his tie, and both Megan and Don are both clearly instantly aware of chemistry between them. Excellent foreshadowing of the blowy Roger's going to be getting later.
Roger tried to fuck Betty. Dons ex wife while at his house when he was away in garage. He wasn’t charming nor was his classy he was spoiled. No woman would flock to that just the money aspect
@@StephenASmithESPN ok, beta
Jesus. You’re both wrong. Roger is damaged and brilliant like the rest of them. Bets didn’t go for him as he wasn’t her type (and yeh, he’d lost that glamour of youth). Here’s there’s chemistry. She’s an equal to him and recognised that instantly. He found his match.
@@mosspally6995 Roger Sterling has no match. Did you even WATCH Mad Men, bro?
Don depicts the every day man in America. Has no emotion to silly things and loves to be around woman and throws money at his problems, for it to go so well to only crumble at the end when he finally breaks down.
Love Roger's flex when he greets the man first even though the female tries to greet him first,
Great actor, 30 years ago he was the engineer on the Soviet sub in Hunt for red October
Holy smokes it IS Melekin!!
Spread her legs and fly away is wayyy more realistic haha
Roger as Sally's date to the awards event is also a great part of this episode.
She's too old for him.
He should have waited until after the awards "date" to take up with Marie.
"His name's Ed.... He's at Dow Corning. They make beautiful dishes, glassware, napalm."
But here’s a handsome prince! *Pete walks up* … nah
It was wholesome to see Roger being so kind to her, but then it got ruined at the very end.
Don was a completely dysfunctional male transferring his damaged psyche onto his daughter.
This little scene says so much about how female sexuality wa regarded. ie, beauty is admirable but a woman flirting is dangerous.
Such a genuine laugh 💙
oh wow I just realised that little girl is from Chilling adventures of sabrina
For all the development they did with Don’s daughter in the series, they treated his younger son like an absolute shell of a character…
Gene?
@@SFXCarly Bobby
I think it was on purpose. "Absent fathers, lost sons". I think the show wanted to illustrate that Don is not a present/good father for his son and it makes him empty, he has no role model and no purpose. The way Sally reacted was with anger and rebellion. She was also disgusted by her fathers action while Bobby just didn't get any attention so he was just uninterested and empty. Just my point of view.
I think casting was a factor there. I seem to recall an interview where it was explained that actor cast wasn’t quite as strong a performer as Kiernan Shipka. She could carry it, so she got to.
@@Sylvi3D indeed they went through at least 3 Bobbys over the series
Don being a dad. Sweet 🥰
Megan's reaction to her dad's slip is really funny, she laughed for real.
It's called acting honey.
Roger has my sense of humor.
Emile knew what was up. He’s like see you in a few years Sally.
He was Sally's step grandfather.
He’s so skeevy
Daughters are God's punishment to you for all the bad things YOU did while dating
damn and I always wanted to have daughters
So
True having a bunch of daughters is the players curse
@@j_bailey11 probably cause you’re a good guy
@@stopbeinginsecure4786 yeah, So Good that chances of me becoming a father are non existent lol.. but thanks, I’ve never thought about it in that way.
I'm sorry, I do NOT believe that Roger Sterling would be unable to tie a bow tie. He could do it in his sleep.
I’m betting it’s an excuse to let a lovely lady do the honors.
Jason Lefler Of corse it was 😂
@@jasonlefler3456 someone gets it! Turns out it was a good move aswell seeing how they ended up together
@@jasonlefler3456 Perhaps, but it's also probably indicative that someone like Roger always did have someone around to do it for him.
Yeah the writers of of the best tv shows of all time didn't consider that.....🥴
what...? "you look like you were born wearing a tie "..."yeah, I didn't that one either" That WAS great !
DrHogfan I dont get it
@@smazeleu6421 He's basically saying, "yes, I was born in a bowtie" but he didn't tie it, and thus doesn't know how to tie the one he was currently wearing.
“I didn’t tie that one either”
Roger’s one liners and his delivery are the best remarks in all of television
@@smazeleu6421 didn't TIE that one either...sorry.
Rodger looks at Marie a second tooooooo long.
Mike D and then he got a BJ.
@@rogelioarmentasolorzano3848 and then marries Marie lmao
より頼 Yes that is his love really works.
Nice catch, you can absolutely pick out that lingering glance.
And her husband noticed the instant attraction between the two.
Emile was on Star Trek Voyager.
Man why can't any of you guys just get the footage the right way instead of using some ridiculous third party recording software that buccs up all the fucking audio, shit sounds like you put it in a can and crumpled paper for a half hour holy hell.
Start a RUclips channel, upload better shit, and stfu, mmk?
I think he knew and meant excactly what he said
Geez I hope not... how old was she?
I agree, he had a lot of repressed agression and always looked for a target to vent. This was a sleezy attempt at ruining everyones moment adoring her.
@@jonothandoeser he said ONE DAY, not at that age
@@tomjens2046 Yeah... still inappropriate to say to an underage girl.
@@listrahtes In particular, he saw his wife flirting with Roger right in front of him. He knew his wife was a cheater and would cheat on him again.
Roger is the only one who thought it was funny
It was an accident but he was referring to Megan's relationship with Don.
Wow that's very observative of you
@@luckyducki it's obvious if you're a parent
@@jamesearlcash7725 it's obvious to everyone who has a brain
@@luckyducki Then why did you understand it?
Im from Venus love your picture and you are right.
The Silver Fox finds it funny. Naturally.
Def. something that Rodger might have said himself.
"Spread her legs and fly away" He said that by accident yet that's definitely something Roger would have said. Not about Don's kid but if it happened to someone else he'd have said it.
That's a Roger expression if I ever heard one.
"What??? It's true." Marie Calvet
If it was an accident, that is the worst line in the whole show. A cheap farcical joke on the part of the writers that doesn't make sense. Why would he not know the expression to 'spread your legs' in a sexual sense? I hope you're wrong.
Roger does start laughing at it immediately.
@@fuckamericanidiot It might have been an accident or a wry joke on Emile's part. Those kinds of mistakes with a transposed word etc. are common when people are speaking in a non native language, and are probably even more common as a shorthand trope to convey that idea in fiction. Plus, Emile is portrayed as more or less having a low level drunk all the time.
Funniest line of the entire series! What a slip!! I had to rewind it twice to make sure I heard that right LoL!!!
