Hi! Thanks for your message, so I’m not a native French speaker as I’m from Antwerp (we speak Dutch there). In my opinion you can definitely get by using English, I do recommend learning the basics to understand a bit more about the culture and to say please etc. in French as they like it when you make an effort. Both cities are international, eg Bordeaux has many international students. All my friends who didn’t speak English (almost all of them) enjoyed their time there thoroughly. I don’t think you’ll have any issues except the occasional grumpy Frenchman who doesn’t speak English or once in a while a fully French menu (I recommend using Google maps)

Hey! In my opinion it is. However you need to treat it similarly to Paris, you need to be careful with your bags, things do get stolen there, you do get catcalled and you do need to watch out. It's still a city and not a small town where you can trust that nobody will steal your bags. I've known of some people who's drinks were spiked, phones/jewellery stolen, etc. And there are areas more south where I did not feel so comfortable. Most of the people are friendly though and I had no issues personally, so just be careful.

Hi! Many of the places mentioned are owned by French entrepreneurs :) I named a few like the crêperie, at the end there is a list with more restaurants. I can definitely give you more tips if you would like more French restaurants. Let me know :)

Hii that is so exciting! So both were difficult to get haha. The beach jumping off the rocks was a place that is not officially a beach, we found it while on a hike and then descended into the nature towards the sea to reach the coast. It was the area between a beach called "plage des trois pointes" and a viewpoint called "les bouches de Bonifacio". Then the boat we did not rent as it was from friends of ours :) Hope this helps!! And enjoy the trip, it's wonderful there!
