Geo-Logos with Samantha Corcoran
США
Добавлен 2 фев 2018
Come explore the geography, culture, and history of the Bible. This is a personal educational blog written and edited by me, Samantha Corcoran. I started this site as a way to share the extra research and resources I discovered while writing geography lessons for 1st - 4th graders and women's classes at my church. I love to share what I’ve learned with others and hope you will find it helpful.
Why the name Geo-Logos? And how do you pronounce it?
These Greek words combine to mean ‘the world (geography) of the Word (Bible)’. Geo (/ˈjēō/) + Logos (/ˈlōɡōs/) = Geo-Logos!
Engineer by Day: Sam has a masters degree in industrial engineering and teaches engineering courses at the collegiate level. She has traveled to Mexico and Japan for both engineering and on Christian mission trips. She is also a co-founder of WSU GoBabyGo, a program that modifies off-the-shelf toy ride-on cars for children with disabilities.

Easter faithful hubby buried her secretly where she would never be found or disturbed, by his horrid birth son from his first wife. he loved his Jewish bride lovingly,
There are Jews still living in Iran? My goodness.
Great video! I pray every day that God will open His Word to me...and today God used your video to show me new and wonderful things that I knew not...thank you!
Wonderful! Isn’t it amazing how Esther has had an impact across two thousand miles and two thousand years?
No, because that is Islamic architecture, not pre Islamic.
Yes, that’s right about the architecture! You have a good eye for detail. “While the sarcophagus attributed to Esther is dated 1291 (692 A.H.), the other was made in the second half of the seventeenth century. In the early 1970s, the shrine was renovated and expanded by the order of the Iranian Jewish Society. The renovation, undertaken by architect Yassi (Elias) Gabby…” www.archnet.org/sites/1609
Caine built the first city. Each stone is a building block of thought, traditions and memories. A defensive wall is built to protect the thought from others who might wish to attack the belief system made to be seen. A king or lord uses the thought energy of others to maintain the structure and what it stands for. God broke down the thought structure of Jerichoe and killed the thought within it.
Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit history I don’t know why you put iran on the title when iran is an arab / muslim country you dumb bitch free palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸
Why are there not more people wishing to live like the original uncorrupted believers?
Praise God hallelujah
Was that the actual house of Lydia or a house comparable to hers?
Great question! This house is in Pompeii and is comparable to the style house that Lydia would have lived in based on her social status and wealth from the purple trade.
It's the entrance to the rational mind Since a city signifies doctrine And the entrance to the Church within, goes through the rational mind
How did you get in?😮😮😮😊😊😊
Sorry, but I am afraid to travel to Iran,”to bow down” because I am classed as a Westerner, and might be killed as a spy.
You have an American accent
I’ve heard that the 70 weeks pin point when Jesus came. What do you think about the Great Tribulation? Are you pre mid or post trib? Personally I believe Jesus will return in the next few years.
Urine was only used for the color blue... No acidic liquid is needed to create violet/purple... Business Insider has a video showing the entire process.
I appreciate your comment, thank you for teaching me! I’ll go check out that video. I’ve also learned since making this video that purple was also made using the madder root (think Lydia and Thyatira). Great stuff!
It's good the Iranian authorities have respected the burial site of Esther and Mordocai.
Very good
Thank you!

I believe they are the closest people to Jesus at this point
I really respect the Hasidim. I believe they're the closest people to Jesus at this point.
So interesting!
I think so too!
Rahab the Prostitute, getting intel while working the Inn- was she the world’s first femme fatale?
I love Joshua Aaron!
I've just discovered his music!
Dit is de plaats niet waar Jezus was voordat Hij verraden werdt. Echt rooms. Helemaal fout!
Thank you for the comment. It’s not completely wrong, but you’re right that we cannot definitively say that this is the exact spot where Jesus prayed. We can say this is in the correct general location and the details match the Biblical account. However, “Gethsemane” refers to an olive press, and none have been found here yet. This article explains in more detail: www.thattheworldmayknow.com/jerusalem-from-the-traditional-garden-of-gethsemane
What type of wood? How many can it hold? The brothers "soaked the wood" to maintain and many people will think that odd; explain. What country was it found in? The "lake" - name of body of water. In a museum, name of museum. You could easily have written a script including ALL of the above information and left the viewer feeling more engaged with this important discovery. Raise your game, girl.
Hey there, thanks for the feedback! I have all of those questions too, but this is only a 30-second clip that’s part of a longer video. There’s a link at the bottom of the short that you can click on to see the full video, and more of your questions are answered there. The long video includes links in the description box to online articles where you can learn more!
Samantha thank you for teaching the word of God

Me whose color blind
Oh, dear! I found this description of the color purple, maybe it will help? “Purple is the feeling of a flower before it blooms. It is the refreshing taste of grapes, and the feel of velvet.”
Thank you . Then the Mount of Beatitudes
Amen. Godbless
Looks like my uncle... He was gorgeous 😍
Yahawashi was a Israelite black man. Rev 1:14
The words Jesus spoke are more important than what he looked like. Although there are description's of him from his time on earth. Several of them say he had a hunch back.
Why not? His father is God, who is not a Jew. Pontius Pilate writes about what Jesus looks like. And he said he definitely didn’t look. Jewish said he had gray eyes and light brown hair.
Considering that shroud of Turin had Rh- blood on it which Rh- negs are usually Blue/green/hazel eyed and blonde/reddish/brown hair.... Wellllll makes sense he did kind of look like that
There’s a problem he’s still white
May...
May have looked like.lol😂
23 and me results identify Tehran as my place of origin nearly 2,000 years ago. This confirms my family entered that part of the world after the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem.
That is sooo cool! I love how we can use science and DNA to see the movement of people groups. Thanks for sharing that!
Every female believer should watch this…fascinating and inspiring!
Thank you! I hope this video starts many conversations!
AIN'T MINE
They don’t make tombs like that for just anyone!
Since I knew of Esther's story in the Bible, I always thought the queen before Esther was very rude to not show up at the party. My parents did not give me very many birthday parties as a child or ever. That did not help. The Bible's book of Esther, in the beginning, shows a king capable of ruling over the big situation the Bible describes, so this was an elegant royal gathering, and it is a big disgrace for a queen to dishonor the guests that way. If she did or didn't have some reason to be a little upset with the king, she should still have shown up. The concept is a bit like in modern times if a couple made sure they argued at home instead of a restaurant, so they would not embarrass other customers.
Thanks for sharing! I’ve read a few scholars who suggest that Xerxes asked Vashti to appear before everyone wearing *only* her crown, and that may be why she didn’t obey. It sure makes you wonder!
