@@printertales4781 I solved it, and the solution made me feel silly, because there was a setting I didn't even know existed. Right-click on the printer icon in Devices and Printers, then _See What's Printing > CanonTR4600 Series_ . This opens the print queue... then _Printer > Use Printer Offline_ This was checked. Uncheck it, and everything immediate started printing. Doh!

All these steps to add a simple printer to wifi...and what is with the distracting piano music. It says "easy" wireless setup. Garbage product. Lesson learned, going cheap won't save money

The Canon TS3166 is crap
doesn't prompt for password for manual connect.
For my MX870, I needed to download the V3400 Service Tool. Connect the printer with USB. Press/Hold Stop. Press/Hold Power. Release Stop. Press stop 5 times. Release Power. Printer powers up and goes into Service Mode with Black screen. Tool can now access printer. (If the printer is NOT in Service Mode the tool gets a 006 error.

I tried these solutions but they didn't work. What finally worked was pulling the paper tray out to where it would be if it started printing the data then turning the power on. Why that cleared the error i have no idea.
