1st Cav 1967-68 … I didn’t get down south until Sept ‘68 … I never saw so many cockamamie huge rubber trees … I did venture into Cambodia a couple of times … of coarse we weren’t suppose to be there in 1968 … I carried a map … yep we got lost … my ass !
I was 20 in 1967 and had one more year of freedom before I went in. I was there in the summer of 1969 when the war was hot and heavy.Three months later I was going back home with a heel wound.
I was there in the summer of 69 also! But I was on an Airbase in Saigon! Thank you for your service!
Great tribute! Thanks for posting this and thank you, Gerry, for your service.
Awesome video. Music brought back some memories out of the recesses of my mind. Vietnam vets are heroes. Every last one.

Thật xót xa khi xem cảnh tự tung tự tác của ngoại bang trên đất nước của chúng tôi, vô cùng cảm ơn ông, cha của chúng tôi đã đánh đuổi họ ra khỏi Việt Nam.
No , your daddy's ink Pen signed an agreement not to attack SVN if US pulled out we beat them into submission , and of course true to the commie lies , we left only then did they dare to attack SVN . We should have stayed and crushed you & your " sad dad" .

Thank you for posting this. I was with the 2/77 Artillery Headquarters. As the units crypto clerk, I would deliver the updated radio frequencies and call signs for my on base unit and to the guard units outside the perimeter, as well as the ‘tower.” I did a short stint as an RTO to a FO for the triple deuce inf. The plantation was huge.... Any one have photos of the French buildings on Dau Tieng base?

Great Job! I enjoyed the video. I took my basic with A company 2/12 but was transferred to battalion and then Brigade headquarters before the move to Vietnam. I am proud to say I trained with the unit.
