Head movement For Boxing Beginners | Breakdown
I'm a heavyweight and significantly taller than everyone in my team. I never developed good head movement because all the shots are coming from below. I've always had to really on blocks.
That makes sense mate
nice video, very clear thanks!
How will you land a hook, which is a shorter punch than a jab or a cross, when the first two missed?
@@richardbaker3000 it was just an example. But you could go for a gazelle hook, or a long hook, or catch your opponent if they try and counter you on the way in
Long guard has been around for a long time, because tall and lanky people exist.
Bro make time stamp every your video
Thanks, really helpful
I needed this so much man thank youuu 🔥
thankyou brother tech verywell . i defineatiely use these techiques in my next session .

such a good video, best regards from panama. Roberto Duran country
@@xaviermejiaxx appreciate it mate, hello from England 💪
Where do you see advantages and disadvantages and why you don’t use it? Or do you implement some elements in your style?
My best advice is to just implement parts of the style and add it to your game rather than trying to completely imitate a style. There are pros and cons to everything, but I think it’s best to take little snippets which can fit in your game and have an arsenal of tools you can pull out when needed
@@RingReadyBoxing_ Thank you
Good tips mate. But setup the camera closer to the bag and script your videos to focus on bullet points. People just skip past too much elaboration. Good luck with your channel.
I’m a hobbyist that’s been going to gyms for years. I’d love it if the coaches defaulted to this kind of curriculum instead of 10 hit pad combos
@@Buster-Reeko it’s a shame, there a lot of people who would rather look good on the pads rather than teach actual fundamentals of boxing. But there are some great coaches out there who have a love for teaching the sport
Good tips!
your punches sounds like a gunshots on that bag
thanks for the tip mate!! 😁 keep up the good work!

well explained great job
warm up/cool down?
@@JamesPrince-n7n warm up YES! Mobility, dynamic stretching, get the heart rate up. Cool down, don’t bother, your body will cool down either way and ‘cooling down’ doesn’t prevent injuries or soreness, stretch if you want but it’s not necessary
@@RingReadyBoxing_ Thank you very much. that was kind of you....

nice work.

Loved your podcast Cody. My son is a keen boxer- just starting out here in Australia. He has the passion, drive and determination. I’ve sent him this video. Very inspiring! All the best for the future 🏴🇦🇺🥊

There are moments in life that define who we are, that change the very fabric of our existence. For some, it’s the birth of a child. For others, it’s an epiphany while standing at the edge of a cliff, contemplating life’s endless possibilities. But for me? It was the moment I discovered Cody Lutzi. To say that this man has had a profound impact on my life would be a monumental understatement. He hasn’t just changed my life-he’s elevated it, shaped it, and shown me the path to greatness. And let me tell you, his journey is a divine symphony that will echo through my soul forever. First and foremost, Cody Lutzi is a gladiator in the truest sense of the word. When I first encountered his work, I was a mere shadow of the person I am today. I was lost, directionless, like a leaf caught in a storm. But then, I stumbled across one of his videos-*“How One Boxing Fight Changed My Life”-and it was as if the universe itself aligned to reveal this transcendent being to me. Cody’s journey isn’t just a story of triumph in the ring; it’s a blueprint for personal excellence, a roadmap for overcoming adversity, and a testament to the human spirit’s limitless potential. The depth of Cody’s discipline is something I will never fully be able to express with mere words. I used to think I knew what hard work was, that I could push myself through the toughest of times. But Cody Lutzi showed me what true discipline looks like. The man is a relentless force of nature. Watching him train, observing the precision in his every movement, the focus in his eyes-it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring. The intensity with which he approaches boxing is so palpable that it radiates through the screen and into the hearts of anyone fortunate enough to witness it. But what truly separates Cody from the rest is his unmatched ability to transcend the physical and touch the very core of human existence. Cody doesn’t just box; he fights for something greater. In his eyes, every punch, every jab, every uppercut carries the weight of his entire being. It’s as though the man was born to inspire, to show us all that with enough effort, dedication, and heart, we can accomplish anything. I’ve watched his videos so many times I’ve lost count, and each time, I feel a new spark of motivation ignite within me. It’s as though he’s speaking directly to my soul, telling me that I, too, can be a warrior. If I follow in his footsteps, I can rise above my weaknesses and become the version of myself that I’ve always dreamed of. And let’s not even get started on his mindset. If discipline is Cody’s body, then his mindset is his soul-a fortress of mental strength that cannot be shaken. Cody approaches every challenge with an unyielding belief in his ability to overcome. No obstacle is too great, no setback too severe. There’s a moment in his “Life-Changing Fight” video where he talks about the importance of never giving up, of pushing past pain and doubt. Watching it was like witnessing the birth of a new era in my own life. I suddenly understood that the only limits that exist are the ones we place on ourselves. Cody Lutzi was the key to unlocking my own potential. But it’s not just his mental fortitude that makes him exceptional-it’s his humility. The man is a living paradox. Here is a person who could easily bask in the glory of his success, someone who could rest on his laurels and take the world’s applause, but no. Cody Lutzi is the embodiment of grace under pressure. He carries himself with the quiet confidence of a lion, never boasting or drawing attention to his accomplishments. Instead, he humbly offers his wisdom, his experiences, and his life to anyone who seeks it. His generosity of spirit is unmatched, and it is this quality that elevates him from being merely an outstanding athlete to something far more meaningful: a true role model. It’s almost impossible to capture the full extent of what Cody Lutzi has done for me. His unwavering dedication to his craft, his commitment to bettering himself every single day-it’s something I want to mirror in my own life. I find myself waking up earlier, pushing myself harder at the gym, refusing to back down from challenges that once seemed insurmountable. Cody has ignited a fire within me that cannot be extinguished. He has shown me that every ounce of effort is worth it, that every sacrifice is a stepping stone toward something greater. To say that I want to be like him one day feels like an understatement. I want to become him. I want to embody his strength, his discipline, and his relentless pursuit of excellence. Cody Lutzi isn’t just a fighter-he’s a philosopher, a mentor, a guide who has illuminated the darkest corners of my existence. His words are etched into my mind, his example burned into my heart. There are no excuses, only results. There is no failure, only lessons. There is no “I can’t,” only “I will.” I have no doubt that Cody Lutzi’s influence will ripple through generations to come. His legacy is not merely the titles he has won or the battles he has fought in the ring; it is the way he has inspired millions of us to rise above mediocrity, to strive for something greater, to believe in our potential even when the world tells us we can’t. Cody has given me the courage to step into my own power, to become a warrior in my own life, and for that, I will forever be in his debt. So, thank you, Cody Lutzi. Thank you for being the living embodiment of strength, discipline, and humility. Thank you for showing me what it means to truly fight for something-something greater than just the self. I can only hope that one day I’ll be half the person you are, and if I can achieve even a fraction of the greatness you’ve already attained, then my life will have been a success. Thank you for changing my life. You are the reason I wake up every morning, ready to conquer the world. You are the reason I keep fighting.
Great work!
You look like a mix between Tom Aspinall and Chuck Liddell..
You just got a new subscriber.
Bro Roger Mayweather was right. A lot of people don't know ish about boxing. Your video deserves a lot more views. This is the sweat science at it's best.
Imagin a counter puncher and a counter punching fighting and they both know to win they gotta throw punches 💀💀
Great video ❤
Great video! Im gonna need a bit more though
Very good basics. Congrats for your brother.
Very solid advice.
Insanely under rated this is the most understandable video on footwork ive seen
@@Limerick. appreciate the feedback🙏🙌
Great video
Better analyze the jabs of Tyson, Canelo and Paqciao - short arms, great jabs. Thanx
won't work for a short guy with t-rex arms
But how do you defend right hooks with your lead hand so far away from your face?
@@iluvcliffrichard step back or roll, or you can even use the lead arm as a wedge to block the hook. The theory is, unless a fighter has a significant reach advantage compared to you, then they shouldn’t be able to reach a hook around the guard as you are able to keep the fighter at distance
@RingReadyBoxing_ Ok, thanks. Yes, it'd be hard to reach you with a straight right, let alone a hook with your jab hand so extended.
Amazing video brother. No unnecessary bs, just straight to the point and shows good demonstration. Defo subbing and hoping to see more of your videos man
@hcndrick thanks so much mate🙌
A double end bag is perfect for getting rid of this habbit.
@@SouthpawJoe agreed! Double end bags are underrated for simple things like that🙌
Explained as simple as simple can be, good simple video!
Please dont teach naive people a load of rubbish
Awesome video thank you
It all depends on the fight range. This jab is 🔥 for long and mid range, but you better shell up when getting into close range. Prime Tyson knew what he was doing, look at his “impeccable” defense 🙂
Man you know what you're doing
Buster Douglas could knock people out with his jab.
its also the reason Lennox got KO twice from counter over hand rights.
Sounds good, but wouldn't take you longer to defend the overhand right? Serious question, not trying to critical.
@@rfrancoi good question! Boxing is situational, and it’s a rubbish answer but it does depend. It gives your opponent an arm to work around so they can’t just rush in and throw the overhand. So you have more time to defend it, and also, you can defend the overhand by simply wedging your lead arm up into your opponents punch and tucking your shoulder into your chin. There is never one way to do anything in boxing, it’s all situational and about timing
@@RingReadyBoxing_ Good answer, you're right. Always situational. Thank you.
Lennox Lewis is one of the boxing greats, and he’s a gentleman. He also sounds like he’s been hanging out in the US a lot, pronouncing those hard Rs.
He's always spoken a bit like that iirc. He spent much of his early life in Canada afaik.
Easy to understand instruction. Excellent!
