I know this is old, but I just got to see this series. And as a mixed person raised by white adoptive parents from pro-segregation era, my life was even worse than Colin's and so much of the show made me cry unleashing all that trauma. We really are nobody's first choice, as much as media would make you think mixed kids are. (hell my adoptive parents didn't even want me period I was kinda thrown at them) "The best they could love him was for him to hate himself." Absolutely spot on. Every bit of black was villified, yet every bit of white was not enough. I'm not just one or the other race, I love both of my biological parents. Their love was rebellion, in a time it was illegal, they were rebels all their lives. And I was stolen from them due to Jim Crow Laws. Yet ppl, to this day, want me to pick a side. Why would I? When even if I pick a side, it's never enough?

This movie was SO. BAD! But not gonna lie… I did find myself enjoying it a little bit. The first 2 acts are rough but I had fun with the end bit that we all came to see and some of the characters (DJ) made me laugh quite a bit. Overall I knew the schlocky mess I was going into and thats what I got. Great review 👍

Glen & Lateasha’s story was the most interesting to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if Glen’s development stopped in his early 20s. He’s so immature and depends entirely too much on his “swag”. His wife has outgrown him and hope she moves on and don’t let his family crisis manipulate her into staying. Cliff mentioning the dress….I was like what in thee hell. Men in dresses are scary not sexy. Aikesha…I loved her scene with her mom/aunt. I wasn’t sure about her last season but I agree with you. The air she has, has to do with her business acumen.

I like Tre too and I agree she is not being totally honest. Melissa has an axe to grind with her sister in law and her family is complicit in her bad actions but she deflects from it. They need lots of space and healing. But Joe is the catalyst forball of Melissa's manipulative ways and he goes along with it.

Why is Melissa raging at Teresa but Margaret was the nexus source for the cheating rumor? Thus perplexes me and i feel as though Margaret is black mailing Melissa. Look back at the season before whwn they were in the locker room before the baseball game . Margaret refused to put on the tight and wanted everyone esle to refuse, but Melissa made a statement saying " i am not going to ruin my family relationship over this". Thus is telling. Melissa is trying to form alliances and Joe is the catalyst for the feud not Melissa.

It doesn’t add up or make sense. Melissa needed something to have on Teresa and to tell you the truth I really don’t think Luis told joe like how Melissa said it. She put too much extra on it. Margret got caught in a lie because she did the same thing to husband about the Evan rumors.

But remember this was taped awhile ago. Melissa said they knew for 6 months so they must have been on somewhat good terms. What about the way joe talks to women look how he talked to Jennifer kimD and his own sister. Come on if you call out Luis you have to call out joe also.
