      @ClusterBUnmasked kept short as a taster. Have been researching the 3 dark triads for many years. I have a law background. Have mentioned NPD mostly on talks I have given. I have noticed incredible overlap in the 3 dark triads. Malignant BPD moves BPD into the 3 dark Triads. The Malignant aspect indicates malicious intent upon the target, not normally associated with BPD, which is more incidental and more in indiscriminate. All public sector jobs should be strictly screened for the 4 dark triads + M-BPD. The public sector is a magnet for these nut jobs to abuse under colour of law.

    What's the difference between female and male narcissists?

      Great question! Generally, male and female narcissists may exhibit similar core traits, such as grandiosity and a lack of empathy, but they often express these behaviors differently. Female narcissists might engage more in relational aggression or manipulation in social contexts, while male narcissists might display overt dominance. It can be fascinating to see how these traits manifest uniquely across genders. What aspects are you most curious about?

      You're right that the diagnosed rates for narcissism are relatively low. It's possible that many individuals exhibit traits without meeting the full criteria for a diagnosis. What do you think might contribute to these traits showing up in relationships?

    • @Eniclac
      @Eniclac 5 дней назад

      @@ClusterBUnmasked Good, just wanted to discourage people from casually throwing around psychological diagnoses. People with true narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) are unlikely to change, but someone who merely exhibits narcissistic traits can improve. I often see the term "narcissist" used loosely, especially online. While harmful narcissistic behavior exists, statistically speaking, encountering someone with clinically diagnosed NPD is far less common than some suggest. The actual prevalence of NPD in the general population is estimated to be around 0.5%-5%, depending on the study. For comparison, the risk of being injured in a car accident is significantly higher. That said, some people may be more prone to attracting or engaging with narcissistic individuals, whether due to personal patterns or social environments.

    • @Eniclac
      @Eniclac 5 дней назад

      @@ClusterBUnmasked Apologies, phone cut the final question. You're absolutely right-many people exhibit narcissistic traits without meeting the full criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). These traits can emerge for a variety of reasons, often shaped by a combination of personality, environment, and social influences. A few key contributors include: Childhood Environment & Attachment Issues - Inconsistent or excessive praise, emotional neglect, or early trauma can lead to narcissistic coping mechanisms, where a person either inflates their self-worth or struggles with deep insecurity masked by grandiosity. Cultural & Social Reinforcement - Our modern society, especially with social media, promotes self-promotion, validation-seeking, and competition, which can encourage narcissistic traits even in people who don’t have NPD. Defense Mechanisms & Insecurity - Some people develop narcissistic tendencies as a defense against low self-esteem, rejection, or failure. Rather than process vulnerability, they project confidence, entitlement, or manipulation. Relationship Dynamics - In close relationships, power imbalances, emotional dependency, or repeated negative experiences can encourage narcissistic behaviors as a survival mechanism, especially in conflict or high-stress situations. Cluster B Personality Spectrum could also be something to take note of Ultimately, recognizing these traits in relationships is important, but it’s also essential to distinguish between learned behaviors, situational responses, and full-blown personality disorders.

    I like that! So sick of people saying I needed to help him with his weaknesses. Heck we all have weaknesses. He was so broken from childhood traumas that were way above my ability to FIX him. He knew he needed to work on himself and get help, but took the easy way out always playing the victim. He milked that til he died from addictions. While doing this to himself, he almost destroyed me and his son.

      It’s clear you’ve been through a lot, and it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed by the impact of someone else’s struggles on your life and your son’s. Boundaries are crucial, especially when dealing with someone who has a history of manipulation. How have you been navigating your journey towards healing in the aftermath of such a tumultuous relationship?

      @@ClusterBUnmasked I am surrounding myself with quality loving ones who see my worth and value me. I have been widowed almost 2 decades because of PTSD. I am hopeful I will meet a man who is serious to have a mature respectful loving relationship. My standards are now high. I cannot afford at my age 67 to go through anywhere near what I went through.

      Absolutely, recognizing narcissism can be challenging in real-life situations. Many people may not identify these traits until after they're deeply involved. What strategies do you think could help people become more aware of these behaviors earlier on?

      Absolutely, the impact of narcissistic behaviors can affect anyone, regardless of gender. It's essential to recognize that emotional manipulation is a universal issue, and the signs can manifest in various ways for different people. Have you experienced or seen examples of this dynamic in relationships?

      @ I merely commented due to the video being directed at women, however having suffered the other way around, I wanted to ensure that it was universally recognised, that men are also victims of these narcissists 😊
