@faeryreads I was thinking more like a non-spoiler guide so that it can also be useful to new readers. And more specifically which books are connected and which books and short stories should be read first to catch the references. I'm just starting with the Stormlight Archive after reading Warbreaker and the first Mistborn trilogy so it's about to get messy for me lol And thank you so much for considering it! Thanks to you I have doubled my TBR list 😅

this made me realize that I don't know much fantasy inspired by korea specifically, I can think of Wicked Fox by Kat Cho, the Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh, and the Emperor's Soul by Brandon Sanderson. The God and the Gumiho by Sophie Kim is also I'm assuming, but I haven't gotten to that one yet.

@@faeryreads I believe I’ve only read one, which is a crime due to my interest in the Korean language and studying of it. I’ll have to look at some of the ones you read and maybe search up some more

@@BooksToAshes for some non-fantasy ones, I'd also recommend anything by June Hur (historical) and If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha and Kim Ji Young Born 1983 by Cho Nam Joo (contemporary). I have a couple of other historical and contemporary books on my TBR as well. I also feel like I should have read more lol especially because I'm always looking for translated books lol

@@BooksToAshes oh I forgot that I also read The Island of the Sea Women by Lisa See, which is how I initially learned more about Jeju's history, but I found that book incredibly triggering so idk how I feel about recommending it lol

I agree!! Just a super fun read and the romance was handled a lot better than a lot of other similar books that I've read

@BooksToAshes haha yes, I played like every waking moment for a week (other than work lol) because I just wanted to know what happens and it really took a toll on me hahaha I still have two other saves that i've started but am not even close to finishing

@BooksToAshes and one of my friends at work would talk with me about it, he finished it in like october so he would always be very playfully frustrated that I hadn't finished yet hahahaa

I just rewatched Ever After last week and I cant get over how much I love it 😭😭😍😍 I was so excited about Tarien Soul but C.L. Wilson's other series is a lot better imo, there's something about this one that was just SO forgettable
