Ins & Outs of a Palomino Real-Lite HS1806

When the Campgrounds are closed, what's the next best thing to do? Go looking at campers. I love campers. I enjoy going through them and seeing all the new technology they have, so this weekend we went to RV Trailer America in Kiowa Colorado to look at the new Palomino Real Lite HS1806. It had a few things I really did not like or was not for my needs. Like the extra bed and the shower toilet c...
It’s Not Always About The Beauty, But…

It's not always about the most beautiful places. It's not always about the extreme adventures. Sometimes it's about relaxing and just enjoying the time spent outside doing what you love. Cheyenne Mountain State Park had a little of everything. The city lights were not my kind of beauty, but in a way it had it's own. It was different. The hiking trails were heavily used, but it did offer more ch...

I had the privilege to be a guest on Outdoor Emergency Teck's Pod Cast during this last camping trip. I have really never just sat and answered questions about myself and my RUclips Channel before and this was a different experience to say the least. I did not know what the questions were nor was anything rehearsed. Everything was adlibbed and un-scripted. I tried my best to stray away from pol...
We Found The BEST Dispersed Camping in Pike National Forest

I spent the weekend dispersed tent camping In Pike National Forest without her. The weather was perfect for a relaxing and fun weekend. I met up with my buddy Rick from www.youtube.com/@outdooremergencytech to do a podcast on his channel. That was fun in itself. Then went a short solo hike to check out the Wigwam Trail. Let me tell you this, I will be back to that one. I also found a minute to ...
Amazing Mountain Fall Colors

Dry camping at West Chicago Creek Campground in the Palomino popup truck camper over the weekend was a much needed escape from the people and stresses of the world. Quiet, Relaxing Weekend Out Camping

Dry camping at Kelly Dahl Campground in the Palomino popup truck camper over the weekend was a much needed escape from the stresses of the world. Being close to the end of camping season, we almost had to force ourselves to put in the work to get out. Once we got it in our heads and just went, it is so much better than the alternative. Camping as much as we do, it seems like it turns more into ...

Discovering the ghost towns of the late 1800s and what life was like in the mountains has been on our radar for a while. Incredible is really the only word that comes to mind. The hardships these folks faced living at high altitud...

#10 - Winter Hiking Deep In The Heart Of The Rockies
How the hell would anyone sleep with the roof 2 inches away from your face? You spend all that money and you should be treated better 😂 If you sneeze or cough you will smack your own face. Get a Coleman tent from Costco for $50 please.
I guess if you went in feet first it wouldn't be all that bad, but what a pain to get in and out. Like I said, it's for someone out there or they wouldn't make them, just not for me. Thanks for the comment.
It's nice to see how a tall guy fits in one of these, especially a smaller truck camper. I like to hear your personal opinion on these rather then only quoting the specs. You are right that this will be perfect for some people. What's the price range on one of these? I'm suspecting it's on the low end compared to most truck campers. Rick
It’s on the lower end of the truck camper range and varies from dealer to dealer. I thought about saying the price, but I didn't want to discourage anyone or persuade them one way or the other. I think moving forward, I will give an estimated range so it will give people the ability to choose one way or the other. Thanks for the comment.
Yea, not for me.
Yea, but it's for someone out there.
I know the concept...you only have to worry about 2 actuators not working instead of 4 ... their should be a class action lawsuit against them
Lol, I understand that. I cross my fingers every time I hit my button. I keep 2 spare motors with me at all times, just in case. Thanks for the comment.
Great review. I could look at campers all the time. That one it would be a no tho..not enough room for me.
Yea, me neither, but it's for someone somewhere. Thanks for the comment.
It’s for me
Good deal. Stay tuned, we plan on touring more truck campers and small trailers this winter.
Hi, is this the one just outside woodland park.driven by many times,
Yes, just up the road. Thanks for the comment.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work
Couldn't agree more, no matter what the weather is. Thanks for the comment.
Good to see you guys...Wow...the videos are getting better every time.. anotther beautiful place to see. the drone shots were excellent..we are gonna have to look into those. Be safe.
Thanks for the comment. I am excited about the little drone. It was only 199 believe it or not. I may do a video just on it. Hope everything is going good on your end.
@meandherafterkids I would like to see a video on that. We are also looking for other camera options besides our phone. We are good here Holidays are coming fast then we will head to pigeon forge in January
@@papprince I may just do that. As far as the camera, I would suggest starting with a regular go pro 11 or 12 with a media mod. Simple to use and has everything you need to just point and shoot.
@@meandherafterkids thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely look into that. We have been looking at the go pro also
Sorry could you give the resrvoir name again please
Miramonte Reservoir
Sir, That was an excellent video. It's funny most of my experiences fishing have been exactly like this trip you recorded. I'm watching this video on Nov 7th from Rio Rancho NM. we just got 8 inches of snow last night with snow projected for the next 24 hrs. Anyway, Thank you, I totally enjoyed your adventure here. I'm retiring in Dec this year, and just waiting to do this very thing. travel (NM/Co) and fish. Might try my hand at videos as well. Take care and Thank you!
Thanks for the comment. It's always nice to hear from others who enjoy real-life adventures instead of what most people show. Even though I have another 5 to 7 years before I retire, if you get up this way, let me know, and we will hit the river.
Great views, good times.
It's a great place to get away.
Let me know if you have a go to lure you use to catch fish every time.
Let me know if there is a camper you would like for me to go through. I will be more than willing to let you know what I think.
Just sit on the toilet and poop and shower at the same time!
That would be the only way to get it all done in there, Thanks for the comment.
What a cute dog!
Sancho doesn't even know he is a dog.
That’s a nice camper, most likely it’s for a 3/4 ton truck or a single rear wheel 1 ton. I kinda liked your setup when you had your Dually. lol
Yea, me too, but that dually was too big for the area we live in now and sat in storage most of the time. If we were still in Texas, I would still have it for sure. Most slide in truck campers need a 3/4 or bigger. I see so many trucks overloaded. Thanks for the comment.
It's great to see the walk around on this. I hope to be in the market for one of these in the next year or two so I'll be watching for more videos and looking for advice as I get closer to buying one. Nice video.
Thanks for the comment. Yea, stay tuned, we have a lot of campers on the list we plan to take a look at. The next one might be for you.
One of these days and far down the list of to-buys there's a 3500 dually and a big ass slide-in camper in my future ;)
Thanks for the comment. We plan to look at some of those big ones in the up comming weeks. There may be one you like.
Good to see ya. We liked that and we also enjoy looking at new campers. What was the price on that one because ain't none of them cheap.
Thanks for the comment. I was going to say the price, but it varies from dealer to dealer. This one was listed for around 29. The soft sides aren't much cheaper.
Great representation of what you get at Cheyanne Mountain. May I also recommend WarGames, it’s a 1983 film starring Matthew Broderick. It’s loosely about NORAD.
I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
black diamond means extremely steep, might have drops that you have to commit to, and sometimes exposure... def one to stay away from if you mtb casually... highest id recommend is a black/blue, preferably sticking to blue if you're not a masochist
Being I went on a portion of one, I now know it's definitely not for me. I ended up pushing the bike back to a spot where I was comfortable riding. Yup, it's just how I thought. Thanks for the comment.

Good to see you guys. Another great camping spot. Alot of good camera work too. Way more than we do, that's for sure. Glad the water leak was external anyway. Be safe and we will see you next week.
Thanks for the comment. I hate to say that dont have anything scheduled for next week. This weekend is about hocky and getting my truck serviced.
@meandherafterkids good deal...gotta get it done..Hockey?
@@papprince I didn't know I was a hocky fan until I went to one of the games up here. Turns out I really enjoy it.
John Wayne😂😂😂😂
That toilet paper sucks to say the least. Thanks for the comment.
Haven't been to Cheyenne SP in years. Looks good! BTW get some CO plates on that truck and your state park access is included ;)
Thanks for the comment. Yea, it was a nice and clean park. I'm having a hard time giving up my Texas plates and drivers license, though.
That was Informative 👍😊🙏
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment.
I disperse camp 99% but recently endured 2 nights in a national park campground. The car doors slamming, barking dogs, 1:30 am car alarms, loud conversations, noisy generators made it unbearable. No self awareness. I can listen to all that back in the city. So I can totally identify with your conversation! New sub here!
Thanks for hitting that button, it truly humbles me. We spent the past weekend at a state park and I almost left on Saturday. Even though we like remote campgrounds, we try and film a wide variation of camping styles. I can say the state campground was nicer as far as cleanness and upkeep than what we have experienced all season, but I feel it is geared more towards the white collar, if I can say that without offending anyone. Almost reminds me of Walmart vs Sprouts. The one thing I don't like about disperse camping is it's all geared towards the "First come" method and I can't get to some of theses, during season, in time to grab a spot. There is nothing worse than driving around all evening, in the dark, looking for a open camp site only to find most are filled with only a tent that someone stuck up earlier in the week to hold that spot and we end up sleeping in a parking lot somewhere. If you know of any places to go that the truck can get to, please let me know. I am always looking for new spots to see. Thanks again, JF
Great interview, most campers would agree with your statements. I couldn't stand being parked next to each other at a campground and paying for it too. 🤨🤨. -- btw, the irish bowling has to be better then watching cornhole during the c19 era 😂😂
Thanks for the comment. I hardly can stand to play corn hole, much less watch it. Almost like watching curling. I am sure it will become an Olympic sport one day. And, paying for a camp spot right next other people is what we are doing this weekend. We only do 1 state park a year, and this weekend is it. Great amenities, but so many people, and at 41.00 a night. The video will be out this Thursday. Thanks again.
Good to see you. We came up last night to camp. 35 degrees this morning. But it's gonna be a nice weekend. Didnt know it until Wednesday but the Irish road bowling is Saturday at noon. Lol...be safe
Okay, so I just spent the last 30 minutes watching videos on Irish Road Bowling. The history behind it is fascinating. We are heading out today to a little different camping environment than we are used to. Our weekend temps are going to be warmer than yours believe it or not. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid 50s. We are camping at a lot lower altitude than usual. Thanks for the comment.
@meandherafterkids lol..they have had it up here for years but we have never been here when it was going on so we will see how that is finally. Those temps sound pretty good right now. Looks like its going to be a nuce weekend here. We are here until Monday thanks to Columbus day. You guys be safe and enjoy
@@papprince It will be an Olympic sport before too long.
Hey J, I am so glad you got up to WCC. My daughter was mad at me for not booking it this year, maybe we’ll see you there next year, great video!
Finally right! After so many attempts, but now I know the road is not as bad as what I thought. We will be there twice next season I guess. Once in the summer and again next fall. This time we will do the full hike. Hope to see ya there.
Cool video I am looking at a pop up camper for my truck it is a 6ft2in bed so you pull a trailor if so can you do a video on towing a trailor
I dont pull a trailer with it, but can. I have the 18" extension hitch for my bike rack and it works great. Thanks for the comment.
You should look into the gazelle tent. Very easy and quick to set up.
Thanks for the recommendation. I will look into it for sure.
If you are looking a car camping tent that is easy to set up, consider the Coleman Instant Tent. It can be set up in less than 3 min with one person. Easy to set up and take down. I have the 4 person which is ideal for one person, a cot and a chair. The 6 person version is a great option. Less than $150.
Thanks for the info. I will check it out.
Great times! I chuckled when you lifted that lid! I do that every time at least once per trip...beautiful country
Being I have to drink NA now, I can get a lot more done. If that was the real thing, I would have been there for the rest of the night, same spot. Sure is refreshing though. Thanks for the comment.
Great review! Your candid approach to how you got to where you are with this camper is perfect. Reminded me of all of the motorcycle seats I had to go through to find the perfect one...lol! I'm that guy that seems to buy them all to find the last one is the one I wanted.
Glad you enjoyed it! The problem is, I am sure I'm not done yet, even though I am happy with what I have. I am sure we will be going back to a small bumper pull in a few years so we can live in it while we do camp hosting. Thanks for the comment.
@@meandherafterkids I totally understand life changes and so do our adventures. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for taking us on the adventure that looks like a nice place. 😊😊
Thanks for watching! It was amazing.
Good to see you man. We sure missed her tho. Another great looking area. Be safe.
Yea, she adds an element I can not complete with for sure. I need to get her more comfortable being on camera. Thanks for the comment.
Where is this
West of Colorado Springs.
32 years for me & my wife, although it's been 44 years since we first dated in Jr. High. We started dreaming about visiting Belize about 13 years ago & we'll finally be there in about two months. We're staying in Placencia, but we'll be heading to Hopkins on a day trip. Thank you for this vid, now I'm even more excited.
Thank you for your comment. It took us a long time to get there as well. We planned for it over 10 years ago and finally made it happen. I think the small resort was the way to go because I don't like crowds and rude people. Hopkins is an experience all in its own. The monkey river tour was out of Placencia, so we got to drive through it. It had a lot of big homes there, but the city was geared more for the rich and tourism. Hopkins is my kind of place, laid back and friendly. Thanks again Jerry
Also, I hope you got the chance to watch part 2. It's even more exciting.
Good deal man
Trying these RUclips shorts out.
@@meandherafterkids I like it

I do agree. Thanks for the comment.
