Vacationing In Paradise On The Beach
Beaches and Dreams was the right pick for our one stop shop while vacationing in Belize. I could not have asked for a better experience then what they gave me.
This is part 2 of our time beach bumbling in paradise.
This time you will see Mayan temples, reef fishing, paddle boarding and even a glimpse into the small village of Hopkins.
This trip was epic and one for the ages.
Come finish it with us, it was truly incredible.
Until next time, if I don't see ya on the trail, I will see ya down the road

Celebrating 34 Years Of Marriage In Belize
Просмотров 155День назад
Me & Her spent our 34th wedding anniversary in paradise right off of the tropical coast of Belize. This is part one of the time we spent and the excursions we did while living our best lives. The resort we stayed at is called Beaches and Dreams. If you don't like the crowds and want a more intimate experience, you will love this place. Not only is it an all inclusive including meals, drinks and...
Discovering Mountain Life In The 1800s

Discovering the ghost towns of the late 1800s and what life was like in the mountains has been on our radar for a while. Either we are camping, fishing and hitting a festival on most weekends, but this particular one we didn't have any plans so we checked another "Want to" off the list. Incredible is really the only word that comes to mind. The hardships these folks faced living at high altitud...
Dry Camping In The Colorado Mountains

Despite the weather forecast, we took the palomino, popup, truck camper out to Lodgepole campground for a boondocking, dry camping weekend. The bipolar weather turned out to give us enough time to get in a nice bike ride and a little brook trout fishing down at the creek. Not only that, we also had a chance to relax with a good book. Overview from "The Dyrt" thedyrt.com/ "Lodgepole Campground i...

Fly fishing on the North Fork South Platte River. Some days are better than others, but I don't think there can be a bad day when your standing in the cold river in the mountains throwing a fly. A stringer of fish or a few tugs on the pole, it really don't matter to me. All my worries and stress seem to disappear when all you have to think about is throwing that fly. Boondocking at Cow Creek Campground in the Palomino SS1240 Truck Camper this weekend had it's challenges. First off, you cannot believe what Google Maps show. It showed this campsite having a swimming beach and plenty of room to do some fishing. I guess the water was high because all we saw was willows. It also showed a network of bike trails interconnecting several campgrounds, but they were g...

Exploring Hidden Gems In Small Town America

Going through the back roads of Kansas has it's unique beauty. It was challenging to create a video to hold my interest, not alone yours. Thanks for the comment. I have several videos on here about the camper. I think the one titled "Why did I buy this camper" is all about the Palomino and why it meets my needs compared to all the other ones I have owned. The top lift actuators are my biggest worry. I just bought two extra motors to keep on hand and I will start doing more maintenance on these as the camper gets older. This winter when we tarp it, I will take them off give them a run though. The top is too heavy to lift by hand so they need a little extra love to insure they work properly. Thanks again, JF

It's a Insta 360 camera. It has more technology than the space shuttle. It will take me some time to figure it all out. The drone shots are what I am looking for and this will get me close to that without breaking any rules.

One issue is they say to record in 8K. It uses a lot of memory and battery that way. Another is you have to edit it (reframe, cut and trip) before exporting it to your editing software in your video so it's adding another step.

What size truck is this good for I have a 1500 ram 5.7 hemi will that handle it

    • @meandherafterkids
      @meandherafterkids 2 месяца назад

Thanks for the question. The motor will handle it, but the payload of 1500 to 1800 pounds on a half ton will not be enough. You can watch the video ruclips.net/video/p7ovg1kAkvA/видео.html where I put this camper on a Titan XD with a payload of 2360 pounds. The campers wet weight is 2500 pounds so I had to put airbags on the Titan and you can watch that here ruclips.net/video/MaZ8LzXHuHg/видео.html. Palomino does make a smaller camper that fit a 1/2 ton like the SS-1200 & B-780H. You can look on their website www.palominorv.com to see all the specs on the different models. Good luck and I hope this helps. JF

the lower Colorado basin -- the cradle of human life in ancient America. No place more beautiful on Earth than these 4 corners. I can relate to the outrageously long list. Thankful to have a lovely Sandia camping trip in my backyard for when I suddenly want to be in the forest :) And to what you said. Your life shouldn't revolve around the few extra days you get off work, anyway. I haven't seen my sister since my brother died, we never all have time off. We live in a hell, and like you said we are just letting it happen. For no reason. Going to NE new Mexico was a good choice, not nearly as busy. Lots of stuff here too. A lot of those smaller doors are likely smaller because they were rooms for storage, usually the doors are smaller so they can put a slab over it to protect the food. Sometimes, they would even mortar it into the wall.

    • @meandherafterkids

@@meandherafterkidsJust as you, I love this land -- and they did too. They left us messages, and lived their lives here. It is fascinating. The ancestral pueblo in particular. They were doing a surprising amount of art and science, despite usually pretty radical circumstances. Not to mention, I know you've done enough hiking here to be confused as to how they did it... Barefoot, with no clothes, nothing to hold water in, etc. I am still looking forward to when you get a chance to stop by angel peak ! Came pretty close, but it is a good 2-3 hours I think to get down there from Farmington. I will say, there are some huge advantages. Free camping, and Bisti badlands is right next to it. I think you said you're from Denver, so it might be worth going East after. I will say that the drive through Jemez Springs going North to Los alamos is pretty amazing. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it that drive is ridiculously amazing. Tons of places to stop, bandolier national monument is right off the road. Grande valle is incredible, as is jemez Springs. And for most new Mexico things you don't need a permit ! I think the big exception that comes to mind is Carlsbad. That's why I live here ! Least restrictive on nature. Including bandolier, it is something like 10-15 dollar entry and no reservation required.
