I'm finally back everybody!! I appreciate all the support. This video is mainly to announce that I'm back and a short understanding of the very basics so the next video isn't as confusing if you're still brand new to reading love data. I have scanner pro and an ELM327 WiFi OBD and I can create interfaces for the different things that you need to keep an eye on Really new to all this So I have STFT1 & LTFT1 w/ o2 sensor B1S1 upstream Map sensor data: barometric + voltage and RPM For 2 interfaces What would I want for fuel injectors or coils and plugs Any ideas of other interface elements that I could add to create other pages???😊 Thanks Kevin

What's normal readings for long term fuel trim moving at highway speeds ? Should the ecu level the long term fuel trim back to 0? I have a 97 tacoma hovering at +13 under acceleration at high way speeds but when I back out of it ecu drops it back to 0
I'M A BEGINNER WITH THE SAME QUESTION. I THINK ADJUSTMENTS IN FUEL TRIMS ARE NOT INSTANT, BUT REQUIRE A LITTLE TIMETO LEVEL-OFF. (EXAMPLE : PEDAL PRESSURE FOR 60MPH WHILE DRIVING 25MPH WILL SEND AN ABUNDANCE OF GAS & THUS "NEGATIVE" FUEL TRIM UNTIL 60MPH IS REACHED )
My 97 tacoma 2.7 is running at +13 long term fuel trim running at highway speeds and my short term fluctuating between + and -. My 02 sensor is hanging at 0.135v. Would those numbers suggest a lean condition pointing towards weak fuel delivery?
Hi, thanks for the video, personally, I find it instructive and conceptually, easy to follow, whether oxy sensor was up or down stream ,before or after correction by the cat, any mechanic can differentiate that on his own job at hand. I like to know what scanner you used for this test in your video, if possible. Thanks.

I’ve got a random misfire on 5.3 ls changed plugs, wires, injectors and coil pack. The number 2 cylinder is mis firing the most I can rev engine and the mis fire stops. I had 160 psi compression on cylinder 2. I have 47 psi fuel pressure. Could fuel pump be problem?
Fuel pump issue only for cylinder 2? Check injector seal which is inserted on engine on cyl 2. Sometimes leaks from here. Also get swap fuel injectors from other cylinders and check if misfiring is moved. Also test your ignition coils on live monitoring, does it pass all signals to spark plug or is it losing? And check cylinder gasket if it’s blown close to cylinder 2, maybe wet and little antifreeze inside
What is the answer to no response at all from bank 2 sensor 1 ls swap 171 &174 codes. Can't find any vacuum or exhaust leaks.
I'm a tech, doing these checks everyday to treat every customer the right and honest way.. great training, for my time and the customer's pocket, thank you for the knowledge

Hi, my Long Term Bank 1 is 16.4% and Bank 2 is 20.3%; Short Term Bank 1 is 7.8% and Bank 2 is 3.9%.....your thoughts? I changed the MAF and Filter....I have no idea what's going on.

i have rich condition coupled with p0403 code and having issues with cold starts i replaced the egr valve and it did not help. my selenoid seems to activate when triggered. i have cleaned all the componetns. i will check that metal recirculation line that goes to exhaust might me restriting flow
I had thought that LTFT essentially tracks/adjust to the STFT. Meaning the LTFT would assume the STFT (average....?). Im trying to wrap my head around this. I have a LEAN BANK 2 (pending code) that keeps popping up but the voltage for B2S1 seems fine... I cleaned/put in known good oxygen sensor and my scanner shows good activity 0.05-0.9 ish, so Im wondering how the ECU is still understanding a lean condition. Thoughts? Much thanks.

Short term fuel trims
You have to add your short term and your long term together to get the total amount of value ... O2 sensors .... Anything above 450 millivolts is in the rich and anything below 450 millivolts is in the lean ....

BANK 2 for me is ~50% STFT! and high LTFT also. I used a smoke machine and found a few intake air vacuum leaks.... but still remained. I used the smoke machine into the TAILPIPE and found a badly leaking exhaust DONUT from the exhaust manifold. $5 fix... will find out tmrw hopefully!

I have code p0171 , but my fuel trims are about -13 on both banks of a 4.3 liter Chevy engine, do you have an explanation for this
9.4 fuel trim is a bit high.. 😅 I won't even tell you what mine was then lol I haven't got to figure out my p0171 lean code yet but I think it was because I didn't have an air filter on my cold air because it fit different on my 98 cobra, or i need to plumb the valve cover vent back into the crankcase for positive vacuum because the 98 was a little different that the 01 cobra but it was dumping about 25% on the trim. Luckily im still breaking in the motor so there was no getting in it with those trim levels.

On my 2003 escape all starts with P2197 then cylinder 4&6 misfire :( Find no leaks, cleaned sensors , changed injectors etc. O my both LONG reads are at = 0 FUEL = CL FAULT ECT = 76 SPARK ADV = 7-12

I have LTFT %25 and STFT zero with P0068 related to Map sensor, I replaced Map sensor but LTFT still really high and not go less 18% whatever RPM I attempted smoke test and no vacuum leak at all, Replaced lowe pressure fuel pump with filter but still LTFT %25 with 900 RPM and Change to be %18 once touch accelerate paddle and stop at 18% even if 5000 RPM, may I know if you have an idea to solve this issue especially I replaced Bank1 sensor 1 O2 sensor ?
Hey great explanation I just had a question I have a 2014 charger 3.6 giving me p0172 and p0175 I don’t feel any misfires but the long trim show -32.812% on both banks and short trim -33.593. When I step on it the long trim goes to 0%
You are reading wrong oxygen sensor. It is supposed to be bank1s1 which should be fluctuating ( if it is narrow band ) On the other hand, bank1s2 shouldn't be fluctuating normally, but i noticed when you rev the engine, bank1s2 didn't respond when tells me either the sensor is bad or wiring issue.
Hi. I have a high negative fuel trim but I can’t find any leaks. I used the smoke test machine(but I am not sure if it’s 100% going to confirm no leaks) I have a ODB2 gauge showing -25 STFT(slowly dropping to -7) when I let go of my accelerator with no brakes. But this doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes it’s goes to 0 in a second or sometimes it 0 right after I release the pedal. I have replaced MAF sensor, MAP sensors and O2 sensors. PCV valve, IAC valve and EVAP valve and most recently spark plugs Do you think I should change my fuel Injectors next? My tuner told me it’s very likely a vacuum leak(mentioned fuel pressure is fine and didn’t once mention an exhaust leak)
My car is a civic hatchback 2017 with almost 100,000 miles
so why i have 8 diferents short tf , and long tf that all of them read minus -100 or cero and only 2 reading also minus but not that bad like -4 an the other like 13 can it be a vacuum leak? i just replace MAF sensor fuel rail presure sensor injectors and spacplugs cos he did have codes for tha and they went away, becos it still hesitates on low idle but it dosnt die on me like it used to

Fuel trims somtimes are not accurate, caused by one the sensors, like mine the MAP sensor cause both fuel trim to be at 12 to 14 percent, i tought i have vacuum leak, but it was the aftemarket delphi MAP senosr reporting wrong values to the ECM, i just put back the OEM sensor and the fuel trim went down to 5 percent. I couldnt believe it, the initiale issue was rought idling and somtimes engine misfire, but it was the ignition electric connection wires were loose at the aftermarket start button system, basically i create the problem overtime by using bad quickdisconnect connector, i replace the connector and problem solved partially rought idle and misfire, but fuel trim problem got fixed by installing OEM MAP sensor back.
