Notos (FX) barrel kit installation
Here’s a short video on how to install the FX barrel kit that’s made for the Notos. This particular barrel kit is 380mm but it is the same for the 500mm version.

I seem to have a slow leak, lost about 100 Bar overnight. What do you recommend?

How the f, do I get my air tank off its really stuck
@@Timothy_Faith make sure it’s completely degass first then you should be able to remove it by hand

did your kit come with brass transfer tube with 3 transfer holes or one mine came with 3 and looks different than yours

@@250smacks I did not machine the barrel. Only the components needed to house it. It utilizes the FX liner
Could you use a brownells barrel liner? I’m a cad guy with a 3d printer and always looking at ways of upgrading
I bought the kit but it was missing the barrel that goes in the tube. Was that supposed to be bought separate if i got the 500mm version
@@BabyBoyRito none of the barrel kit will come with the liner. You would need to source that yourself from a dealer

That's pretty cool an all but there's no way to sign it correctly dead center unless it's professionally balanced and correctly aligned untill you send it to a professional shop. Not even with a regular FX pellet barrel. 500mm one. FX balances their barrels from factory. Once you disassemble the barrel or order an new one it's 💩 on accuracy. Just saying. I'm an avid FX shooter an learned that professionally. I would've left the factory barrel on it an shot it whatever distances with mods up to 110 yards. Have fun with er fella🙂👍💯

Thank you for doing this. To answer a few questions. I find fx barrels to be top notch in accurcy and they are rifled from the outside. No sharp lands and groves and a slower twist than most traditional rifled barrels. The superior liner is 1 in 24, the superior heavy aka slug liner is for HEAVY slugs... not suited for notos power as is. The superior stx is inceedible with most pellets and many slugs. Pretty much anything 23gr and less for 22. The .25 can sling 34gr but any heavier is slug liner territory. Fx superior is a pellet barrel. There is a velocity gain with the 380 and more with the 500mm. Youll have to adjust for a longer dwell. So clock on a chrono. Even those AceTech amazon airsoft ones work. Adjust HAMMER spring screw back and forth 1/8 turn at a time until you see a spot where any more and velocity drops any less and velocity drops. (The lowest tension with the velocity you deem acceptable is always better. More just encourages instability and poorer accuracy caused by turbulence which causes gyroscopic procession induced wobble and spiraling. Higher velocity than needed also means much worse shot count. And with 66cc its already low homies. Get the plenum and extension

What parts are custom and what parts are part of a normal FX barrel kit?
All the components are custom made. Nothing is sourced from FX besides the liner
I just bought one 10minutes ago and the plenum kit. Superior and heavy liner
Southern precision airguns has 22/380 in stock. No 22/500 other than Utah air.
Yeah just ordered the 500mm kit today. Waiting on getting the liner until I talk to my local machinist. If he can make an extend the barrel housing tube so I can do a 700mm liner than that's what I'm going with.
What about the accuracy? Is it better than stock?
That will depend on the barrel/liner itself. For most part if your factory barrel is accurate then the only benefit from this would be more fps and twist rate
@@c88airsuperior is 1:24. Fx barrel tend to REALLY love whole jsb line and SOME Slugs. 22 and 23gr. Notos stock barrel loves 2175 NSA 23gr
I group 1 hole groups at 25 and 1 jagged hole <.6"ctc @35 with FX (jsb 15.89)

What’s the point of switching to an FX barrel when my Notos barrel is extremely accurate?
I’m wondering this also, twist rate different? I could see velocity gains if it was longer but looks the same
Twist on fx superior liner is 1::24. STX barrels offer less resistance and the 3.75" more adds a not insignificant amount of velocity

To each their own and tinkering is always fun but this just takes a notos completely out of what one even is. Just buy a 35 fpe bigger regulated gun for cheaper.

I don’t have a pp750 in hand to confirm but the threads on the plenum is m16x1.0. You can find the kit on eBay under notos plenum

How much did it run you to mod the Notos like this, and is 35fpe the max you can get out of it? I’m thinking about paying to have mine modified.
You could get more fpe with a longer barrel
You can dramatically increase the FPS by increasing the Transfer Port hole from 3mm to 4.5mm. Don't need a plenum and why screw up the moderator? it works fine.
w do you gain by beating up your stock internals by doing that? i know the spec gain, but irl, what do you gain?
Great work man! I’ve been waiting to see someone post this mod. I didn’t think it would be to hard for someone that knows their way around a lathe. The hardest part I would think would bet the inner o-ring grove. I’d love more info on the process or if you have any videos or tips you you could give on it. P.s. where’d you get the lever?
You would need an internal grooving tool to make that oring groove. The side lever I got from a buddy. If you’re interested in it pm me on AGN- cfs916

I bought your kit, it looks awesome! But I screwed up the grub screw on the barrel, it's stripped. Any ideas on how to get it out? Barrel is still stuck.
If you are very careful you can drill out the screw itself (don’t drill the threads, make sure the drill bit is smaller and doesn’t touch the threads) then retap it. Retapping it should push the rest of the remaining materials on the thread

Would a drop block be better to use with a bottle to get more shots and maybe an adjustable regulator to increase the power? Ty for this video 👍🏽
Drop block and bottle will get you more shots per fill but not fpe. I don’t think there’s much plenum space in the drop block itself but I could be wrong. You can port all the air passage ways n get some more fpe
I'm having issues with the plenum sliding over the barrel. Not sure why. Probably have to sand it down and repaint it. Both the rear and front parts won't slide on at all.

I like my kit, but it likes to loosen when taking off/on moderators. Suggestion to put knurling on the adapter, for something to hold on to, when unscrewing moderators. Keep up the good work!

Will this plenum push 14 gr pellets up above 800 fps ??
I’ve gotten the jsb 18gr up to 750. Have not tried anything else
This product only gives about 10 fps and 5 - 6 shots more! You have to turn up the hammer spring and adjust the regulator 1/4 to 1/2 turn counter clockwise to get more fps + power. Then your 14 grain pellets will go well over 800fps!
what does this mod do actually ? I'm nervous about modifying High pressure rifles
It adds a bit more power and more shots to the air tube. And the other part allows you to attach your own moderator to the gun

Put mine on today and easy to install except for getting the stock moderator off but worth it in the end. Speed jumped from 735 to 770 fps.
aren't there little pins to tap out that hold the moderator on? secure the work piece and tap out the 2 pins near the muzzle. why not just make a drop block that accepts a bigger tank? Please and thank you.
Some people don't want to add a bottle type and keep the tube. And people do make drop block adapters too...
