Round 6 vs Belconnen United - First Half Reviews: Goal (19: 19) - Belco shoots outside the box aimed towards the top bar. The Belco Left Winger saw his Right Mid going for a run, quick through ball bypassing our mid. Took the shot outside the box - goal. Our defence was ball-watching the left winger and the right-mid went for a run behind their backs. Goal (20: 14) - Belco shoots from outside the box aimed towards the top bar. Belco CB went for a speculative clearance, it connected with their striker (bypassing our mids), the striker took a shot from outside the box - goal. The Defence were taken by surprise somewhat. Goal (23: 10) - Belco shoots from outside the box aimed towards the top bar. Another clearance from their defence (bypassing our mids). Their Left Wing took the ball. Our Defence was onto him. But the Left Wing had the presence of mind to take the shot before anyone got near him (he had the strength and power to take the shot). Goal (24: 58) - Belco shoots from point blank range. GK took a goal kick. Soft kick to the right back, right back crossed the ball to the LB (infront of goal), CB had to do a panic clearance. Belco intercepted the clearance. Took a shot - goal. Goal (26: 58) - Belco took a free kick from outside the box, with the intent of aiming at the top bar. Their players were waiting / anticipating a rebound (and they got it because they were prepared for it). The ball hit the top bar, rebounded onto the ground, CB did a first touch clearance (the box was packed with players), the clearance deflected off a Belco leg.

Round 6 vs Belconnen United - Second Half Reviews (32: 02) - CCFC took a free kick outside the box. We aimed for the top bar. Our players were positioned for the off chance rebound. The ball did hit the bar, we took the rebound, we nearly scored (so, we too, can do this trick...more of it in the future). (33: 58) - CCFC played a through ball straight at the guts, our player was onto it, was a good chance (so, we too, can do this trick.....more of it in the future). (34: 50) - A good intercept from our mids. Quick play to the forwards (but we were off-side). Had we experimented with this kind of play all game, the scoreline would have been different - we only need that chance that's not off side and that would've been a goal opportunity (so, we too, can do this trick....more of it in the future). (42: 14) - We took a shot outside the box, the ball nearly went in. So, we too, can do this trick....more of it in the future. We should be doing this every minute, every opportunity of every game. (48: 46) - Goal for us. Not shown in video (52: 30) - Goal for us. Took a shot from outside the box (see, we can do it) (57: 46) - Goal for us. Took a shot from outside the box (again!)

Round 6 vs Belconnen United - Overall Review Lessons learnt for future games 1. Strikers and Mids - Take a shot from outside the box (more often and always). Always make yourselves available for throughballs and not wait for that pass direct to your feet (at this level, it will not happen). 2. Mids - stop doing 10,000 touches. Stop trying to beat the entire field with 10,000 touches. As soon as you get the ball, you should already have a plan how to play that ball. Beating the oppositions with 10,000 touches will be difficult at this level. Release the ball to the wings or throughball to the guts as early as possible. If the mid think they can beat players with 10,000 touches, they should not be in NPL, they should be playing for Dinamo Zagreb or Hadjuk Split (I don't think even Zagreb or Split allow their players to do 10,000 touches). 3. No talking / coordination between defenders. They are heavily reliant on the GK calling the game when he himself do not see the entire play. The CB should be more like Beckenbaur or Maldini and control the game like a coach and while playing, directing the traffic at all times. Nobody was even warning each other of oppositions' presence (ie man-on, man behind you, close the gap etc - nothing like that all game). This need to improve. We have proven we can score 3-4 goals. Normally 3 goals is a winning scoreline. However 3 goals for us is when we are chasing the game. If we count all the missed throughballs, all the missed opportunities to shoot top bar shots, we are statistically dominant. But by not taking those shots and compounded with the opposition who actually scores from those kind of shots - we are 5-nil down in a blink of an eye. The forwards and mids should be taking out of the box shots at all times when the opportunity arises (and the defence should be feeding them the passes that allows the mids/ forwards to be in a shooting position). In addition, the mids and defence, should be stopping the opposition in getting into a shooting position at all cost. The team or the players are not below par, but there is something that is stopping us from reaching our best potential and I can't put my finger on it. This is Game 6 so we have completed the quarter season and heading towards the half season. If current trends continue, this will probably be us (under performing) all the way to the half season and beyond. Identifying / admitting to our weaknesses and work on it will probably improve our season immensely.
