Almost 20 years…. God so much has changed, and yet each year i love both yume nikki and the countless things its inspired more and more each and every year… I really do wish every one drifting back to here the absolute best.

This OST makes me want to cry😢 Idk why, I‘ve only been knowing this game for a year.

This music is just so comfortable, yet melancholic at the same time. I play this game from time to time, it's not exactly a FUN experience, but it is a good one, a relatable one.

I love Madotsuki so much. <3 Personally, I think Madotsuki is just a troubled child who needs help. :p Sigh... I could have sworn that some people are divided on how good or evil she is and how dark or not the ending turned out. :( Like... if she secretly killed someone and is running and hiding from the police, or if she's actually still dreaming before she killed herself and woke up to the real world... For me, I think it's just about exactly how it sounds. :p A depressed recluse that genuinely died at the end... I mean, why else is the ending song as sad as it is, and why is their really nice parts of her dream too, like the Mother world or the Witch world? :p Sigh... honestly, at her darkest, I think Mado could relate a lot to characters like Aubrey from Omori, or even a Higurashi character, but probably no darker than that. :p Otherwise, I think you could rewrite the Milk Bag series to make Milk-chan into Madotsuki and get a really good Yume Nikki OG/Milk Bag story out of that. :p I think that would honestly be amazing. <3 Sigh... seriously, I adore that series just as much as YN for the exact same reasons. :p Sentimental ones, if not relatability, and all around love for the dark and mysterious yet also hauntingly beautiful characters, plot, setting, and music, and so on. :p All the dream lore stuff and world building or whatever is really creative too, there's just a lot too them that really gets you immersed. :p

What is the genre called

Here's the full lore behind the game, and it's actually confirmed: She's not conscious, she's still in her mother's womb, both of them are sharing the same dreams and that's why the mother could be seen in the manga saying "I've promised to give birth, and when I do...I'll finally hear your cries, your voice for the first time..and say good morning" Because the mother already met her baby (which is Madotsuki) but only in her dreams without even hearing her voice, and that's why Madotsuki can't get out of her room, She Only will get out when her mother gives birth, which means Madotsuki's apartment represensts her mother's belly. Also the video game (the red console) that could be played next to the tv, represents the baby eating his mom's left overs. That's why a red creature looking exactly like a new born could be seen eating certain stuff falling from above. And btw the mom wasn't assaulted at all she was just lustful, and all that was confirmed in the manga. Madotsuki didn't die at all, she's just unborn. And that's why tons of reproductive organs are seen throughout the game, It's the only piece of reality that Madotsuki could see. Also, Madotsuki's eyes in the game are shut, because her mother is still in early pregnancy, the unborn child had already experienced depression without even opening their Eyes throughout it's mother's dreams and memories. And btw, yall guessed it right..the Mom's name is Poniko, she's the girl with the blonde appearance. That we'll eventually meet half way through the story. That's basically the story, Madotsuki didn't die or anything like that, she's just waiting for her birth, and while doing so, she's reliving memories...

i've never played yume nikki and i only got into the fanbase recently, but for some reason this song makes me feel nostalgic update: i played it and dang, what an experience. its amazing how a game with no story, dialogue, or main purpose at all, can be so incredibly powerful. goodnight, madotsuki

I kinda feel like this would have made a better end theme though. Imagine, this plays as some jellyfish things dance around Matsudoki's bloodied corpse. Nothing against the actual end theme, but wouldn't that be better?

I just played some game with sounds and the sound pattern was almost exactly this one. I couldn't help but play this and listen to this for a moment... this melody is ao serene and jist so calm to listen to... and tho it loops, you almost don't feel it.
