My question is, does the Liturgy of the hours make good toilet paper?

Whatever you have heard from the Catholic Church forget, and find a Bible teaching, Christ centered Church. The get saved!

Never listen to a priest who is in a church full of idolatry. That makes up lies about scripture, Purgatory, praying to dead people, forbidding marriage for clergy. That's a sick one. Abstaining from certain foods on certain days. All this is a LIE. There was a reason God brought into being the Reformation. Wanna know truth, read ur bible. Listen to the reformers, past n present. Calvin, Luther, McArthur, Sproul. Learn of God. The Catholic religion is a lie. So many things they say are not in the Bible
Why does everyone complicate this so much, my priest years ago said forget about seasons, saints etc, and just got me grounded in the structure of morning prayer ordinary time, where to say the glory be, where to find the prayers etc, then we did evening then night. Once you can do that without having to think too much, then worry about the other stuff.

The Bible says call no man Father. Roman Catholicism is very suspect. Roman 3:23 states All Have Sinned. That includes the Pope!
John 6:47. Jesus said whoever believes in Me HAS everlasting life. Read Roman's 6:23. How about Eph 2:8,9. Salvation is by grace. A free gift, not by works so you can boast.
Very good presentation father but at a rather "Blitzkrieg" pace. I do think that due to the complexity of the Liturgy of the Hours, you did and amzing job. Well done. I have used the large print "Christian Prayer" book for years but eventually found it much easier to use my tablet and donwload the "I-Brievery" ap. It got to be annoying to have to buy a little guide booklet every year to find out what pages the readings and feast days are on. The ap lays everything out for you and you don't have to flip through pages in a book. My question concerns the "I-brievery". What do the little symols mean at the end of various lines in the psalms? I'm guessing they must have to do with chanting the psalms but what does the asterisk and the little sword or pointed cross symbols mean? I've been praying the liturgy of the hours for years and most of what I've learned was self taught. I first bought the one volume "Christion Prayer" book and Thought I'd breeze right through it. Wow!! what an awakening. After much frustration I sat the book on the shelf and there it sat for years. I finally got so determined, after watching a few people come into the Church and act like they knew what they were doing that I forced myself to dive into it. The brochures that came with the book (this was before the internet and RUclips) were as complicated as the book itself and all "Greek" to me . The average Catholic only knows rote prayers and prayer cards. Most Catholics I grew up with didn't even know how to use the St. Joseph's Sunday Missal so jumping into the Liturgy of the Hours was an absolute nightmare. I guess it was the Holy Spirit but I eventually kept plodding along and eventually began to figured out how things went. Surprisingly, I was right and as I persisted, I became more knowledgable. Your video has expanded my knowledge even more. My criticism of the Church however (if I may be so bold) is why make things so complicated ? People simply become frustrated and simply won't bother with the liturgy of the hours? I had one couple that I tried to teach, give me their brand new volumes of Christian Prayer and walk away from the little prayer group I'd started. I've tried to introduce people to this prayer form and they simply told me, their rosary and chaplet of Divine Mercy is much easier along with their prayer cards and novenas, they were content. Why do we complicate things? Having had the same experience, I can't blame them yet our Popes have encouraged the laity to engage in this "beautiul tradition" of the Church. If it's so beautiful and desireable, why make it so complicated ? It's as if it were meant for the "Elite" religious, not the laity. Flipping" back and forth in a very complicated book isn't something the average Catholic is accustomed to. We've been conditioned to use memorized prayers and read prayer cards and being led in praying. And it can't be too complicated or we'll lose interest real quick. It's like a long winded homily; if you aren't connecting with whats being said or read you're wasting time. I'm one of the "dummies" that accidently firgured out how to navigate the complexity of these books, but it took years to do it and I still get confused by "optional prayers and readings and feast days". I would suggest if anyone is interested, get the little "skinny" book Father showedd at the beginning. It's just the basics and the best way to learn. I wonder what Jesus would have to say about all of this?

My priest recently lent me his volumes of the Hours to look over during the summer, since I’m wanting to look a lot into liturgics when I go into university this year. It’s good to see that these hours have a similar learning curve to the Daily Office in the Book of Common Prayer, which I usually pray being Anglican. God Bless

The psalms and the gospels, really. If you look, the Psalms is basically one of Jesus’s prayer books from the time. We can’t just pray only when we feel we need it.

@@erikbishop7 Oh, vain man. I will say. It is not an audience I seek. The verses I provided are self explanatory. Oh how you respond with intricacies, I would say you have a doctorate in divinity. However, this is nothing to God. Without Holiness, no one may see The Lord. He does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called. It is so that unless a man be born again He will not enter the kingdom of God. We are to be baptized by full submersion in the name of The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. You must also receive baptism of The Holy Spirit. You must strive for Holiness. There is more to repentance than simply feeling sorrowful for your sins. You must turn away from your sins, change your mind and actually change. You are to call no man Father but God The Father. I can not stress this enough, that no man may go to The Father except through Jesus. Sexual immorality is not to be condoned, when you affirm people in their sin you are an enemy of theirs assisting in the damnation of their souls and possibly your own. We are not to pray to any other being than to The Godhead. The veneration of saints and even Mary to such a degree that you pray to them is an abominable act. Bowing before them is also a form of idolatry. Chanting and using vain repetition as the pagan’s do is also another thing The Lord frowns upon, and God’s Word even mentions that. I would say with your suit and sophistication that would you know such things. God does not delight in rituals, they are a stench in His nostrils. Self exaltation He also hates. God cuts down the proud and exalts the humble. We are to approach The Throne with Humility, Holiness and true repentance. I don’t need a youtube channel. As John the Baptist didn’t stand in the synagogues and carry out His lectures. I chasten others if I see that I must. Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons; all are practicing blatant heresies that are based in scripture but are merely parodies of what they should actually adhere to. Much like a movie or a play that is based on real events, yet the whole movie is but fantasy. Disney’s Pocahontas is such an example. Based on true events, yet utterly fiction. Oh how many pray for miracles, for divine intervention yet their stomachs cannot hold bread; alas they are full off of crumbs. So too do they shut out all voices of reason and do not adhere to sound doctrine, they have itching ears and set their treasures in the earth and not in heaven. They coil around the youth as serpents, covering them in oil not of God and in private do they consume themselves until there is nothing left. Then they go to the widows and to any and all who are shorter than them, devouring them also. Building for themselves empires and expanding their castles, I have a displeasure of calling a church. Do you not know that it is the Body of Christ whom are the church? The building is merely a tomb. Do not cast lots into perishing things, as the poor receives expired food and little resources. For any town and city with more than seven churches, there should be no reason that the impoverished dig into garbage for sustenance. “This people draweth nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honoureth Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” - Jesus, Matthew 15:8-9

I Am in Mexico and go to Church every Sunday. There is no English Mass and none of the Priests speak English. I want to do the Chaplet of Devine Mercy. Should I still do it even if I can’t go to confession, or will it be a waste for of Time ?

The apostles prayed in the spirit choose a living Jesus Christ. The apostles never prayed the Liturgy of hours prayer. Priest person you're preaching hate. In the New covenant we pray to Jesus in the spirit not in the flesh. Like that prayer your recommending

The reason why I'm ashamed to go confess the same sin over again is because I simply shouldn't, (My opinion) if our goal is to achieve heaven, why am I confessing again? I should be clean from sin and not be confessing again and again. I want to be apart of God's children, by sinning I am not born of God, and I don't think confession will change that, it may relief my Spirit but does God consider me his child? That's what I'm scared of. I know God forgives 7 x 77, but it also makes it clear certain sinners will not enter the kingdom of God, but I don't boast about the sin, I'm ashamed. don't want to be looked down upon by the priest because of the sin. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.
Nothing replaces the liturgy. Go to Mass.
