Hi, thanks for this content! Opened up our (my husband and I) Pediatric PT mobile practice last year and we are completely Cash Based. FAst forward a year later we are now 2 months away from opening up our Brick and Mortar place (sublease for 3x/ week). We are still planning to do Cash Based but my fear is where can we market our practice? Is it better to stick with Cash based vs to be part of the insurance game? Any insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As a 2nd year PT student, I appreciate the information. I think it’s important that new grads know about cash based practice. Seems like all people know is working for insurance. Personally, I can’t justify working my tail off in school for 6 years just for an insurance company to tell me what to do for MY patient. Patient First Care is the future and cash based allows for that.

Are newly licensed PT’s able to immediately start working with patients in a cash based setting on their own? Is there any issues with direct access/referrals, etc?

When is it too late to get into a Residency? I'm 14 years in Practice; but have felt for some time now that I would want the Residency experience.

Do you have any information about how well/often patients are reimbursed with this superbill? Have you had to make any changes? If patients have a deductible, do you find that insurances usually apply these charges to their deductible? What problems have you seen or had with this method? Thanks in advance!

Omg I was the same I was afraid to do pretty much anything cuz I was in extreme pain. Ended up getting a nerve ablation done and I can now do things. Still get a pinch if I over excercise but I’ve been going to physical therapy which has made my muscles more stronger. Had been dealing with this for almost half a year
