@@JustWonderingMg I'm going to do an adaptation on Friday :-) I'm gonna have them dry erase the grid on their table/desk and see how many slots they can fill in before we go back in the text to look for the answers. I have too many kids to do the cars and hot seat, but I'm hoping it'll still be fun. They love writing on the table lol I really love this activity <3 Thank you again for coming up with it and for sharing!

@@JustWonderingMg It went really well! I think them filling in key words with dry erase on the grid worked really well. They were writing 3 names under "who," 3 verbs if applicable under "what" and 3 places under "where." My kids are English learners so from there I just tried to get them to say a full sentence like "Meg was looking for her teddy in her house." I was happy with how it played out. Thank you again for coming up with this fun activity which also helps them track their strongest points of comprehension and the types of answers they need to pay better attention and/or go back in the text to find :-)

sakinah hussain I'm a speech therapist so most of the students I service are seen on an individual or a small group. But if I had to make this into a group activity I would probably use bigger toys and use them on poster board or carpet that you can lay down colored tape and cards with the questions to make the grid. Then have the kids come up and take turns. I hope that makes sense.
