Why do so many people get this wrong. The phrase is 'Suit you, sir', NOT 'Suits you...' Are they hard of hearing?

Rather than saying '(That) SUITS you, Sir', it is suggesting '(That would) SUIT you , Sir' Without this, there is no comical point to the catch-phrase. You need to comprehend English grammar to get the joke. Have you ever seen a comedy show before?
