I think one of its biggest pitfalls is that it dares to make extraordinary and unsubstantiated claims. “Unchanged literal word of god, sent down in Arabic. Not one letter changed” etc. The faith is largely protected by creating a bubble of ignorance around Muslims, deterring muslims from doing their research into the validity of the claims and I feel that the Information Age has given access to historical accounts and archeology that really test the fabric of the Islamic fairy tale. Now we are even seeing the book bearing the fruits of Aramaic translation, making sense of the indecipherable dark passages. People kill for this religion and it seems to actively look to silence critics and historians with threats of violence instead of standing as a pillar of truth. That is the telling sign of a religion fighting desperately to remain relevant in the evolving world.

As an atheist i got to say that part of your argument is sort of missing the point of religion and faith.
