John Legend plays Bruce Springsteen: Dancing In The Dark 051321
Attended a virtual conference for work today and they hired John Legend to perform. Pleasantly surprised when he played Bruce Springsteen's Dancing In The Dark! Great performance!

Deacon Blue version. (Look it up).
what a sound that piano
Jon fratelli 's cover is better
what is the chord progression for this version of the tune
I'm a big Bruce fan, but I do like this version ...good to see young artists takes on old classics ...
Check out Jorgen Dahl Moe's incredible rendition of, Dancing In the Dark... besides Bruce Springsteen, this young artist is literally the best I've ever heard singing the song!
Just checked it out… fantastic, thanks for suggesting.
@@parachuting2323; My pleasure... you're very welcome! 😉🙏🏼🤘🏼
Thank you ..
Not fond of hearing his politics but he definitely is a talent. Great take on this song. Even better when he was on Howard Stern.
The best version is when he performed it at the Musicares celebration of Bruce. Emmylou Harris’ rendition of My Hometown that night is really good, too.
💗 wonderful
Interesting take on it. I'm not a Legend fan, though I acknowledge he has big skills. I was going to pass on this, but on second thought though I said let's see what he does. He kind of lizard lounges the song. Plenty of skill, but he doesn't really incorporate the main riff, which then just leaves the song to hang on the lyrics. It works pretty good on that alone, but there isn't much emotive quality to his treatment. The emotional content behind the lyrics is pretty much lost. I wonder why he did this jam. Curious.
If you watch his performance of this on Howard Stern he explains the genesis of this version. A Questlove idea and arrangement.
He did it this way to perform at the Musicares celebration of Bruce a few years ago. Many artists from different genres put their spin on some of The Boss’ hits. Quest Love made this arrangement.
Incredible Cover...agreed though, the one he did on The Howard Stern Show is so much more 'emotional' if you will. Jonh Legend is just cut from another cloth...so much raw talent!
