    Geat video, I struggle with staying consistent with prioritizing work. sometimes it's hard to focus. I'm working on doing things like being away from my phone(social media) and not having so many distractions. I have been trying to stay focused on growing my channel and also found ways to figure out youtube's algorithm. I'm also learning how to deal with negative thoughts that keeps me from staying focused, dealing with anxiety and mild depression really brings on the distractions. With time, I beleive it wil get better. Thanks for this video, it is really helpful😊

    The cool thing about having a power statement is that it may unlock some insight into your role that you may not be fully aware of. Example: I am [Name]. I am an [IT Specialist]. I [deploy, configure, and maintain IT software and hardware equipment]. I [work to improve the steady flow of information within my organization]. I just told myself, that my key job function is to ensure steady flow of information within my organization. So at times, where I would complain why x, y, and z tasks needed to get done, or a, b, and c things were asked by the people I support; I can now understand the impact and purpose of my job, and what I should be focusing on if I want to move forward in this career.

    I’ve noticed the most important trait in finding opportunities is to be curious enough to search for them. Great video!

    I try to tell people at my work to watch out for new people that don't belong, that stick out in either their attire or mannerisms, cause those tend to be the big opportunities that can land them a promotion or better career for their future.

  • @theguypersondude
    @theguypersondude 9 месяцев назад

    I missed out on some amazing jobs at work because I was not ready for the opportunity. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I had a regional manager who was friends with a producer with Hans Zimmer, I was not prepared to meet that opportunity, so nothing went forward with that conversation. I met someone who worked in Santa Monica on a film campaign that if I had just known in depth one show from that company, could have open doors for me.

    • @maryannlombardi
      @maryannlombardi 9 месяцев назад

      Thanks! 1) keep in touch with the classmates you connected with; they will be a great resource as you all move through your careers 2) get great at the follow-up; when you meet new people, follow up and thank them for their time and stay connected. 3) keep in regular contact with your network; the more engaged you are people, the stronger your relationships will be. 4) make sure you ask people how you can help them, not just ask for help yourself. Let me know if that helps!

    Getting a job is about having connections. I've worked for 7 different companies over the course of my career and never had a single job interview. You just need to stay in touch with people you know so you can give them a call whenever you decide to move.
