Yeah!! I was hoping someone would catch this. I have quite the queue right now, but I will add this 🫡 One tip is to check the SERPs and look at who's in the top 10. Now, go through Screaming Frog (or something similar) and check the *technical SEO* first. Go through and make sure you have the best SEO title, meta (tho it's not a ranking factor), and H1. After that, make some tweaks and let the dust settle for about two weeks. You can also do the same thing to peep their design. What's missing? What can only you provide with your USP (unique selling proposition)? This should've been done at the Build Phase, but it doesn't hurt to double check. Really, the most gains for ongoing local SEO come from authority building. So do it and do it right! Keep it up!! 💪

Looks like most businesses put: Security systems supplier. I know that’s not quite right, but it’s more about showing up with the competition in a case like this. Some put legal services or electronic company, but I’d be leery of the first and think the second is too broad. Def want a website with a well-optimized SEO title, even if just a landing page. I will not link it in the header and I rarely do this for location pages (such as this one) cuz I think it just really hurts user experience. People are more interested in the service you provide, right? So that's what will be in the header nav for me (and my clients). For most people we work with, we're building location pages in the general area, so if a lead happens to see a different city when they're clicking around, I think they'll get it. My hope, especially with a page like this in a totally different area, is to get the lead sucked into either filling out a contact form, or doing the lead gen video before they see the totally different area. And over time, I plan to improve this page to clearly state: "Here is how we *locally* do SEO in Burlington, VT *and* in Bend, Oregon." Hope that helps :)

@@PandaShopMi, well, it just resets on each page. If you want to show results, you should definitely be using a SERP tracker. If you're still balling on a budget, I *highly* recommend Serpfox. If you already have something like Semrush or Ahrefs, of course, you can use their position tracking tools. Serpfox is great if you only have a few clients and want to track a handful of keywords for them.

Soooooo… I really need to do this follow up video, huh? I will say that BrightLocal was the clear winner. However, that was a fresh site with more potential for growth. My takeaway was this: citations DO matter, they just matter LESS. Also, DON’T have someone do your citations unless they do them MANUALLY. BrightLocal and Whitespark do them manually. Good people on Fiverr and UpWork do them manually, cheap providers on those sites do not 🫤 Be careful! Keep testing! And let me know what you find!!

First question: Do you serve local customers in person? If yes, continue. Second action: Find someone in a bigger area than you that does the same thing. Use PlePer Chrome extension. Note their primary business category, use that. You can add the categories you mentioned as services later. But don’t get the primary category wrong, my guy!!

Reverification VERY like if you change: - address - business name to something different - primary category to something quite different (unless it’s wrong) Reverification possible but not likely: - secondary business categories - name (but you’re only fixing it - e.g., removing LLC)

Glad you’ve been liking the channel!! If I’m touching one of these, I tend to say the doctor-y, “so, chances are this might not do anything, however, there’s a tiny chance you might need to reverify.” That way you’re covered. THEY have to do the verification video (or you gotta drive to them), so I just tell them, the risk is on you, but I’ll guide you through it if that happens. I hope that makes sense. It’s not coming off as kind as I say it to them lol

Great question! That feature was disabled by Google on July 31st, 2024. You don’t have it and none of us have it. No need to worry!!

Right? The thing is that ChatGPT has been able to search the web for a while, it’s just been refined and rolled out to more people. I think for local SEO (esp home services), Google is still going to be king for a while. Buuut if Google does nothing about the abysmal user experience for Search… people will leave. Better to stay on the cutting edge than to stay complacent 💪 2025 gon be intriguing 🤔

Clarity is pretty freaking cool. I actually use OBS. It takes a little bit more to do the initial set up, once it’s up and rolling, it’s nice to change scenes on the fly. I also have a Stream Deck to change scenes. Also, shoutout to my video editor for tying it all together 🙏

Is it essential?! Nah. Can it help? Definitely. I would try to keep it as natural as possible, what about: “Byrdview N. Bethesda Web Design + SEO”? People typically don’t search “local” SEO, even though that’s what they want.

No. I feel like I muddied the data because I kept doing other SEO activities. Also, these weren’t really equal comparisons. That said, the site with the BrightLocal campaign fared the best BY FAR. In fact, I’ve rolled that into my SOPs moving forward after this video. I will be mentioning this in the last week of my new series called: 30 Day Local SEO Playbook.
