I have spent some time thinking about this and my signature spellbook would include the following: 1. Codie, Vociferous Codex - this was one of my first commanders for a deck built around Hypergenesis. I have since built three more decks with Codie at the helm (a janky Test of Talents/Slime Against Humanity deck, a cycling deck built around Living End, and a deck built to abuse Inevitable Betrayal). Codie is essentially a tutor in the command zone if you build your list around it and is great for secret commander lists. 2. Skullclamp - this is a staple in my creature token decks including my Krenko goblin list and my Clavileno vampire list. It epitomizes my love for getting value from tokens. 3. Overwhelming Stampede - my decks are primarily focused on filling the board with creatures and winning with combat. I have loved this card since before I played commander when I would slot this into my janky, 60-card kitchen table decks. I find you don’t need Craterhoof Behemoth as this card almost always does the trick while spending only a tiny fraction of your budget. 4. Return of the Wildspeaker - I am a Timmy at heart, and this symbolizes my love for big dumb idiots. It’s especially great in my Yargle and Multani list. Other honorable mentions include Rishkar’s Expertise, Soul’s Majesty, and Hunter’s Prowess. But Return of the Wildspeaker wins out because it’s also great in my go wide strategies. 5. Eerie Interlude - I have several decks where blinking creatures is a central theme or sub-theme. I especially love this in my Arcades, the Strategist deck as it is essentially draws a card for each creature I control with defender (usually a lot!) while also being an instant-speed way to protect my board. Honorable mentions include Lae’zel’s Acrobatics and Semester’s End. 6. Kami of Whispered Hopes - another of my favorite archetypes is +1/+1 counters. This is always one of the best cards in the deck by giving me more counters and providing a bunch of mana. I love it in my decks led by Vorel of the Hull Clade and Emiel the Blessed, and I plan to add it to my upcoming Sigurd, Jarl of Ravensthorpe deck.

Rhystic Study is a weak take. In casual, everybody has left over mana to pay taxes, and unless they are storming off or cascading, most players only cast 1 or 2 spells per turn. Not paying the tax is a skill issue. Let's say RS player brings out RS on Turn 2/3, if the 3 other players just plays a land, then RS didn't do anything other than skip a turn cycle, and now, everybody has that extra land to pay for taxes. Rhystic Study is a ramp and skill check and it should be fine in casual. Now, there's a card in White that is a more broken draw engine in Casual, and that is Trouble in Pairs.

Japan has a better power level categorization. There are only 4 Tiers. Tier 4 is your Jank/Precon, Tier 3 is what we call casual (what we call power level 5-8 in NA), Tier 2 is non-meta cEDH/no budget limit with Crypts and Cradles being played, then Tier 1 is your meta-EDH . That means it eliminates feels bad in Tier 4 and Tier 3 because it minimizes the subjectivity of power level. Also, banlists shouldn't even be a thing anymore because of power creep.

Lots of brain dead takes here… Scute Swarm? Really? Lmao Talks about how ancient tomb is “too strong” yet no mention of Gaes Cradle or Mishras Workshop. Razaketh, Jhoira, Time warp, authority of the consuls… these are hardly as bad as so many more cards. The fast mana, I can agree with but most of these cards you’ve listed are hardly a problem and can be answered easily.

One of my favorite decks is Arcades, the Strategist, which is the commander that allows your creatures with defender to attack and deal damage equal to their toughness. If I could add a second commander to the deck, I would choose Pramikon, Sky Rampart. In addition to having a fun ability, this would give me a way to win with commander damage since it's a 3-mana flier that would deal 5 damage naturally alongside Arcades (plus a lot more with the deck's many toughness buffs). It would also allow me to run red defenders such as Vent Sentinel, which would be super fun.

This is a fun exercise. If I could combine two non-partner commanders, I would use Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and The Scorpion God. I have wanted to build a commander deck focused on -1/-1 counters for a while, but I haven't done it mainly because I can't decide which of these two commanders to choose from. So if I could play them both together - problem solved! Maybe one day WOTC will create a jund -1/-1 counter commander and I can put them both in the 99. Until then, it's fun to think about.

I did not buy any of the Fallout precon decks, but the Wise Mothman is very interesting to me. The radiation counters are really fun flavor and I think would be really interesting to build around. That said, I have always been intrigued by energy and want to use that mechanic in a commander deck, so Dr. Madison Li has to be my favorite from the Fallout set. I haven't played with it yet, but I plan on combining several of the Fallout energy cards with the MH3 energy deck led by Satya, Aetherflux Genius. Thanks for the video!

My dream Commander Team...Norin the Wary & Karona, False God. That deck would be unbeatable hands down. Deck name would be Norin's flavour text...I Got a Bad Feeling About This. I dare anyone to find a better combo team and I am honestly shocked and appalled that this dream team was not brought up.
