All Over the Place follows an eclectic format of guests and topics: music, movies, politics, sports, books, video games, etc. From many opinions across the spectrum, one podcast to host them all: All Over the Place, where the funsanity never ends!
All Over the Place #podcast Complete Ep 324 Steve Hill
AOtP welcomes the multi-award-winning Steve Hill, killer one-man blues/funk/jazz/classical/prog-rock guitarist, to groove on his latest album, Hanging on a String, described by critics as "the year's must-have blues album." In addition to learning why Steve prefers to look at the album as straight-up rock-and-roll, drawing on his many aforementioned influences, we also get to know what it was like working with acclaimed producer Darrell Thorp (Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Paul McCartney) at Dave Grohl's famed #studio606; the ups and downs of making music videos; his ever-growing upcoming tour of Canada; and even about the hot sauce and comic books he's had available at his official stevehillm...

Marty's #2 is a high/low: Of course, the stunt cycle is/was awesome....the pain of getting whipped with the plastic rip-cord for said stunt cycle by my brother is still with me. Heretofore unequaled pain.
Gramps done right!
my favorite is glazed donut buns, onions, salmon sashimi and a ton of ketchup like just drowning in ketchup. chocolate fondue to dip, if I'm feeling like the prep/cleanup for it :,]
Hey there! Thanks for talking about us - we appreciate you spreading the word! Just wanted to clear up the Thousand Island dressing thing - we do not have Thousand Island dressing! We have a pickle relish on our Special and Deluxe burgers :)
We did get an Ed Grimley cartoon tho
Love the Show - Thank You Eric and Jim !! 🙂
@@rychechlanda you're very welcome, Ryche! You and Mo and Maryann were amazing guests, can't wait to catch a show when you wind your way through the Arizona desert next year!
IMHO. Dr Graham Spanier was one of the GREATEST presidents to date of Penn State University. His unwarranted demise is a blight upon Penn State which shall live forever in INFAMY. John Peter Surma Jr. the PSU Trustee who fired Paterno, was conspicuously and quite possibly criminally complicit. Surma openly HATED Paterno since 1975. I know. Surma was my fraternity brother. I heard his vitriolic assaults regularly. True Story.
Ok I'm done with you. Deleting my comments so I won't waste my time trying to educate you. Conspiracy Theories are fun however.
@@GentlemanJack295 I've never deleted anything, but your choice to leave is unfortunate. Here's hoping you eventually buck that Twain quote I shared early on in this thread as Dean Wormer, like the PA courts throwing out the cover-up accusations, was at least right about one thing: choosing willful ignorance is no way to go through life. TTFN
@@AOTPfunsanity You are lying and afraid of the truth. I bet you'll delete this too.
@@GentlemanJack295 again, no deleting though I think I see the issue may be you've started new threads here, away from our previous thread. I've refuted your incorrect info on the cover-up, McQueary's Grand Jury testimony, and Myers' courtroom appearances. What else do you have? Pendergrast's also an acknowledged expert on repressed memory theory, a practice the courts haven't reputably utilized in years. His daughter's accusations mean nothing in refuting that.
What a load of crap. Spanier deserved every day in jail he got.
Based on what evidence ... or lack thereof?
@@AOTPfunsanity three convictions in a court of law? So, Spanier knew NOTHING about one of his coaches being investigated for child molestation by his own police in 1998 but he has meetings at his house about “horseplay” in 2001? GMAFB! Spanier and his buddies covered up for Sandusky and kicked the can down the road. Kids paid and he deserved the slammer!
@@GentlemanJack295 not at all true, notably the cover-up allegations which was one of the things the PA courts actually got right by throwing it out. In addition to Dr. Spanier's book chronicling the corruption and lies he personally had to combat, Mark Pendergrast's "The Most Hated Man in America" expertly breaks down and exposes the tainted and coerced confessions from every Sandusky accuser. John Ziegler and Liz Habib's "With the Benefit of Hindsight" podcast also further shines light on the false narratives surrounding the cases. The truth, almost 100% opposite of what ESPiN & others have been peddling for 12+ years, is available, so I only ask if you're not interested in knowing/learning it, please stop perpetuating lies.
@@AOTPfunsanity completely true. Spanier was NOT cleared of covering up as one of the jurors said so. I know this case better than you. Spanier was not accused in court of covering up to protect PSU’s image which the juror acknowledged he did. He was accused of conspiracy to endanger children. You don’t understand the difference between a coverup and a conspiracy. Pendergrast? Did you know he was accused of child abuse by his daughters? He’s about as reliable as John “Alex Jones” Ziegler, a proven fraud. You are the one spreading lies that Sandusky is innocent and Spanier is clean. It hurts the efforts of LE to catch these predators. Stop it! Spanier is a disgraced big shot who is peddling conspiracy theories to rehabilitate his despicable acts. Won’t sell. Quit peddling it!
@@AOTPfunsanity I see you are taking down my comments. Fine, but you are spreading false conspiracy theories and lies that harm Law Enforcement's pursuit of these monsters. Mark Pendergrast was accused of child abuse by his own daughters and has no credibility. John "Alex Jones" Ziegler is just making money off of the PSU cult. The truth is the truth. What you are giving platform to Spanier is false. You should stop. BTW I know this case very well and have read everything associated with it..
Barrel roll was my favorite!
I typically just barreled through first basemen who gave me no other path.

My pleasure, EP! Thanks for the shout out & I'll keep spreading the news.
Dylan sings "Fat Bottom Girls" 😂😂😂
Vedder could do justice to "Bad".
I started out on Asteroids and Missile Command, but in the 90's Revolution X (featuring Aerosmith) was something I could play for hours.
I read on these umpire forums and in the news how poorly behaved the fans/parents are at baseball games. I have been an umpire for nearly 30 years in the Memphis, TN area and I'd have to say that I do not witness any of these outbursts at the games. The players always behave. The coaches mostly behave with an occasional outburst in tense situations - which I consider somewhat normal. The fans do the normal amount of grumbling but it never gets out of control. I just have a difficult time relating to what many consider an epidemic in the high school sports world. This problem does not exist in our area. I think part of the reason is that we (umpires) must submit incident reports for ejections and other types of unusual events. Those are handled promptly by the state organization (TSSAA, Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association). Phone calls are made. The situation is investigated. Athletic Directors are notified. Monetary fines may be imposed. Sanctions may be imposed against the team, like banning them from postseason pay for two years. It can really blow up. It is never swept under the rug because, when it is, that's what leads to recurrences. I have no idea what is going on in other areas of the nation but, whatever it is, it's not happening in this area.
When I first saw him solo around 1980 I was like whoa what a talent and Genesis was now without him😢He added so much class to that group. He’s the man and always so humble. His shows leave me walking 2 feet off ground for several days thereafter.
I am not sure about the need of introducing Steve Hackett by his long-gone (mid-80s'), one-time co-project GTR, rather insignificant compared to his own enormous career. It's as if you introduce: this is Michael Caine, the one that once lent his voice to a Sunday afternoon local radio show. Especially considering that if SH had some less remarkable period, it was one in the wake of GTR's demise, late 80's. I'd say: Steve Hackett - the man who definitely needs no introduction!
Fair point, but since GTR was my intro to Hackett's work (little young for his time in the Genesis "Circus"), his one-stop-shop left an everlasting impression. Either way, thanks for checking out his visit with Team AOtP!
Regarding COL Jessup. I think the movie missed the mark on the dynamic between the enlisted and the officer corps. There is and has been hazing forever, but usually, that takes place well outside the purview of the officer corps. In fact, having served as an officer for 24 years, I lost count of the number of times I was told to stay out of "NCO Business" when they were trying to adjust the attitude of or re-train a wayward soldier. I think there still could have been a movie there because officers are responsible for what their troops do, but it would have been a lot more complicated and probably harder for the non-military person to understand. In the end, a COL doesn't get involved in the case of a PFC that can't run. You also need to remember that the Code Red was not intended to kill Santiago. In real life, a person like Santiago would have been medically discharged, a replacement shipped in and there wouldn't have been a movie.

I think there needs to be a happy medium there. You can't always live in the moment, but you can't always live for tomorrow, either. Both are unsustainable extremes.

Can't agree with everything these 2 said. It is and does have Faith inspired work involved in it.
Absolutely, and that's certainly keeping in mind the devout Caviezel's involvement. However, and I'm confident this is what Christian and Marty were going for, is that the faith-related aspects of the film didn't need to be as divisively manipulated as the leftmedia twisted it
