Abou Bakrine Schmiedet Einen Ring [by mediensalon.at on Vimeo]
This video shows the creation of a tradtional touareg silver ring by a traditional silver-smith in Timbuktu, Mali / West-Africa. It follows the steps of creation from the retrieval of silver coins as a base material over the melting process to casting, forging and engraving. The work has been done by Abou Bakrine, a traditional, young touareg silver-smith.

Beautiful people and culture my partner Moussa Albaka also is a master of this craft and he inspires me every day on the beautiful design, Craftsmanship and detailed engravings inspired by nature, love and a culture that must never be lost.
Ummm do they speak french in Timbuktu? 😳 I think I'm more surprised by that. What is the local language?
Making bes goldsmith man
Danke für interessante teilen
awesome ring
I love this! You got a real good video of the process! I especially enjoyed watching him sip his drink while he pressed on the air compressor! His work is amazing and I ADORE Twareg jewelry and clothing!
BEAUTIFUL CRAFTSMANSHIP.
I would prefer that ring than anything made in a factory made with heat a steel spike and a hammer thats how we started in the beginning thanks for the upload
Unbelievable craftsmanship
I'm #EnChanted With The #AFRICAN #FreanchSpeaking #TUAREG.
Pas mal ...
how many grams of silver?
Amazing cool....!
Of course, without power, you would have to drift the hole in the ring. I think I may have to try this with my scrap casting buttons.
