Memories....I used to be one of the op's supervisors at Southport in the mid eighties prior to my retirement in 2011. The sounds are just as they were the brakes the compressor clicking away etc. great video thanks for the opportunity to reminisce. A great deal of things sadly have changed not to mention the missing signalbox in the triangle plus the semaphore signals on the diesel platforms still it's progress but still sad. The points were operated by compressed air and moved very quickly - you had to watch your fingers as there wasn't much time from when you could hear the operation sound. Much more reliable than the clamp locks they use today. Ahh such memories makes me feel old!!
