@@matthewmk8dx The title was a bit misleading. I do like this track, I just have issues with its implementation. Certain things just sometimes don’t work, or feel unnatural to do. At the end of the day, it’s a Wave 1 BCP track - it’s going to have issues with implementation. But it’s hard to totally ruin Coconut Mall

@@Aplays996 I thought low traction was just a worse trait to have for inward drift (as in, the traction’s the same for both inward and outward, but inward suffers more from it). I couldn’t find anything online - the closest was Shortcat saying in one of his videos that inward drift lowered handling, but that’s not the same thing. Like I said in the video, though, I’m no inward drift main, so I wouldn’t know. Still, I might do a followup with inward drift (Master Cycle has same stats as Gold Standard) if this video does well enough

That would be worse handling on inward drift then, if you’re going off what Shortcat said. Still, inward drift seems to suffer a lot more from low traction - for outward drift, it’s just a less controllable version of normal drifting, but for inward drift, it can completely mess up driving due to how you commit to a turn with that. At least, that’s my guess on how things work. Traction’s one of the more niche stats, and how it works is honestly kind of weird anyways

@@ZUKO-FROMTHEFIRENATION So, my initial response was way too long, so I’ll try to summarize my thoughts better. Stats are important at a higher level. While it’s not impossible to win with a suboptimal combo (the Waluigi Stadium race this video), it’s significantly harder with a lower than competitively recommended mini-turbo stat and/or mini-turbo + speed stat total. If you want more stat explanations there are plenty on RUclips, so I won’t go too in depth here. Also, people don’t focus on high acceleration, that’s just a byproduct of focusing on a high mini-turbo stat, which is the best stat in the game. Which is for some reason still hidden in game. As for your point about mushrooms doing basically nothing on the optimal builds, you’re half right. Yeah, it doesn’t do much when used by itself on a straight road, but that’s where a person’s strategy comes in. A player could use it on a turn (this cancels out the speed decrease from drifting), save it for a shortcut, or even use it to skip needing to accelerate after being hit (even with high acceleration, it still takes a bit of time to go from full stop to full speed). Also, handling is pretty much the most useless stat in the game. You have to be specifically trying for poor handling for it to negatively impact your race. Well, okay, handling might be more useful on 200cc, but that rarely shows up in Worldwides and most people tend to play 150cc anyways.

I don’t think a RUclips comment is the perfect place for a full explanation of the pros and cons of both controllers, but if you don’t know what sets them apart, Shortcat has a video on the subject. I’m a bit hesitant to do that since Shortcat did it first. I’m probably worrying too much, though, and he did it before he hit 20000 VR, so the average skill level would be higher if I did it. No matter what I do though, I’m not uploading this week. I’m on vacation

@@ahmadkhalifeh1779 It has the same Mini-Turbo and Speed stats as Waluigi/Teddy Buggy/Rollers/Paper Glider (meaning 15 MT and 11 Speed). As for other stats for the Luigi combo I used, the acceleration isn’t great compared to most builds with the same Mini-Turbo stat, sitting at 12. However, the anti-gravity speed stat is really high. It’s not maxed out, but it’s still really good. This build is actually the Mute City world record combo (they use Kamek, who has identical stats to Luigi), and I’m guessing the reason they used this instead of maximum anti-gravity speed is just because the turns are really sharp on Mute City (when there are turns, since the there aren’t many), and the handling on this build is just good enough to make them without excessive brake drifting. But in terms of other stats, it’s not great. Aside from a pretty good traction stat, the other stats are a bit lackluster. The Water and Air Speed stats especially are a little lower compared to Speed and Anti-Gravity Speed. The handling stat’s workable, but it barely matters. The combo’s pretty solid for online play, but it’s probably not the best idea to use it for competitive play

According to the wiki (and I’ve verified this with some characters) each character has 4 different combos they can use as a CPU, and nearly all of them don’t follow the pattern you stated. Most of them use the Standard Kart, but all 7 Koopalings (and Kamek who shares Larry’s combos for some reason) don’t use the Standard Kart for any of their four. Only 15 characters use the Standard Bike, and the same goes for the Standard ATV. Wiggler, Dry Bones, and Dry Bowser are the only characters who use all three of the “standards”.
