The Super Rock Sound reverberates across the years!!!
Killed it
F'ing awesome.....LOVE 'EM
Good grief!!! So perfectly beautiful in every detail. So far ahead of her time.
Long live The Fleshtones!
Then we show you why we like it that way
Je suis français. J'étais fan de Devo en 1979. Encore maintenant . I'm french I was Devo fan in 1979. Again now. Great video. Great song.
WOW ! is this Liz Taylor ? so much alike !
Eat your heart out, Chuck Berry !!!
Post-punk Liz Taylor. So cool.
Thirty years later she morphs into Karen Walker from "Will and Grace"
So here is my thought, I wonder if the guy you first see at 0:48 with the yellow hard hat was part of the construction crew that helped put the area for the video together or he was a Devo fan rocking his own look?.
This is so fucking good, it’s not even funny.
Devo. You either get them or you don't. They're the kind of band that all the other bands respect because they know what they bring to the table. They are utterly unique in identity and sound. Saw them in Chicago ten years ago. Best concert I ever saw.
THESE were Punk's Greatest years in so many ways...and THE AVENGERS were huge contributers to that scene. RB/nowretiredfromThescene&sorelymissingPauline
Camera just loves her.
I'd rather the camera stayed on Josie instead of cutting to the dancers..btw is that Adrian Zmeds doppelganger in the back there dancing?..lol
Lol, that just might be him.
Incredibly innovating great band! Love those guys!
Perseestä.
Remember dancing this at primary school prom party, when music was so fun!
Smashing song well done DEVO love the cowboy theme and the dark glasses !
She is perfection- delivery, presence, moves, "Hip , hip, uh huh!"
Classic Devo!
Con loro credo di avere completamente sfondato le casse dello stereo della mia vecchia R4
Lit my eyes up in the 70s.
holy schnikeys!
What does Mark yell at 3:03?!
pure legend
Aika hyvä veto!
This video was played at the beginning, before Devo's concerts during their 1978 tour. When I saw their show that year, it blew my mind that the singer was using a cordless microphone, I believe it was the first time that was done on stage...
Devo dissapeared from the underground scene in New York after their 1976-77 gigs and went to London. When they returned in 1978 they returned with this video and their album. It surely blew our minds, they became the gods of new wave literally over night
I love them so! Never got to see a live show, the spud boys did'nt come South.Wrote perhaps my only fan letter to Gerald begging them to come to Memphis......every song is a masterpiece.
his guitar is all that's left now ... she still calls his name ..." come back Jonee "
Wow, what year was this?
1982 or so.
I always thought this song was a nod to Chuck Berry, RIP.
Mature PUNK!
Love this song
And a GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!!
Enjoyed this video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
If Jonee drove a heavier car than a Datsun, he might still be alive today.
É a minha banda preferida.
Saw the group in Perth WA about 10 years ago and they were excellent.
Song is about JFK and the agents which grew to power after he was killed.
+richard dietl Damn, is it really?
Yep. They dressed like fascist cowboys in a video filmed during the Reagan administration.
Nope--it was still THE CARTER ADMINISTRATION in 1978!
My bad. The video was filmed in 1979 (The Men Who Make the Music). They were already aware of what was brewing.
That's interesting, I'd never heard that explanation. At the time I just took it as a slice of Americana-gone-wrong. Just recently I heard it was supposed to be a nod to "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry -- I suppose the "Oh Jonee be good" is a clue. Perhaps it works on multiple levels!
I first saw this video on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1978, in those days there was a replay of the show later in the week. I so loved the song I used my cassette recorder with a built in mic to record the track, I literally played it over & over on a 3 hour journey while my Mum drove home to Birmingham UK from Torquay... I still love this song & video all these years later...
Jeremy Green Bit late, but yeah, that's where I first saw it too, still great, happy times. :)
This song was the song in 1978 that opened the eyes of the american audience towards that genre of music..it is short and epic
3:25 First time seeing that, I lost my shit, LOLed, and woke people up!
