Osprey Cay at low tide - Bahamas Aerial View
24°20,37N / 76°35,71W Osprey Cay aka Sandy Cay, Exuma
This is one of my favourite spots in the Exumas. At high tide you can enter the shallow lagoon with less than 3 feet draft. But at low tide there is only 1 foot! With my Gemini Catamaran I can easily sit on the ground and wait for the next high tide. You should only do this in calm weather. When you want to explore the sandbars with a bigger boat, you can anchor in the deep channel at 24°20,51N / 76°35,87W.
--- I am sailing with my Gemini 105MC catamaran NIRVANA every year to the central Bahamas, the island chain of the Exumas. In the summer hurricane season I leave my boat in Florida in the Indiantown Marina near Lake Okeechobee and fly...

23°54,13N / 76°18,26W "Questionmark" Sandbar near Galliot Cut, Exumas This is the rest of the famous "Questionmark" sandbar which was once more than a mile long. 2023 it drowned under water. In march 2024 I looked for it again at new moon low tide. A small part is coming out of the water. Your are walking on a catwalk in turquise water! 24°03,37N / 76°22,49W Great Guana Cay - Jack´s Bay Cove This is a nice small cove at the long island of Great Guana Cay in the Exumas. If your draft is less than 3 feet, you can anchor inside. There is a trail which leads to the hill from which you have a nice view. I am sailing with my Gemini 105MC catamaran NIRVANA every year to the central Bahamas, the island chain of the Exumas. 23°28,36N / 75°37,53W Pigeon Cay - Exumas Hello, I just arrived another time in the Exumas. I like to spend many days here. It is interesting, how the sand is changing every year. The water colours are magic. Only once a day another boat is coming by. At the rocks you can snorcle around. Usually the anchorage is rolly, so best to go on a calm day. On the west side the beach is steep, so that yo...

24°16,08N / 76°31,47W Compass Cay - Bubble Bath - Exumas Compass Cay offers several beautiful anchorages, depending on the wind directions. It is also famous for the marina with the many nurse sharks where you can swim with. This cay is the only one which is owned by a Bahamian, Tucker. He was offerd many millions to sell it, but he refused. On the northern end there is a spectacular lagoon whi...

Hello, Indiantown is the best location for the hurricane season storage in Florida. It is friendly and familiar. They have a good but expensive service department. You can also do your own work on your boat. The next west marine store is in Stuart. Right now NIRVANA is on a mooring in Georgetown, Exuma. Greetings from Germany, Andy
