I worked at the Royal, it was so beautiful in its day. There was a problem with the floors in one of the wards which meant that the portable X-ray machine was too heavy to be allowed on there! The floors were so beautifully polished that one day a visiting Vicar who was praying with the patient, tilted his stool which immediately went from under him and he shot at great speed under the next 2 beds! I worked with the lovely Roy Stallard who had the Royal Hospital flooding through his veins!

Certainly a change Courtney. Let's hope it's for the better in the long run. We could still do with another hospital in Wolverhampton. It's a nightmare for people who need to get to New Cross & the parking is diabolical & expensive, that's when you can find a parking space.

What a lovely venue and what amazing clear pictures of the deer. They seemed to be watching you as much as you watching them. They seemed very used to being close to people. I loved the dining room and the kitchen. Surprised that the lower ranking servant was paid zero even in those days. An educational and enjoyable day out.
