I have been watching you after I had my surgery. You guided me right thru it, totally thank you, I could not have motored thru it without you 3:05
If you can't get a raised toilet seat, get some adult diapers. I didn't make it to the bathroom several times. Believe me!
I had mine last Wednesday, when I woke up, I felt like I was in labor, but on my lumbar spine. The car ride was brutal!
Thank you
How are you now, post 6-years
Wow! Thank you for posting this! I’m having a L4-5 laminectomy September 13, 2024 (I never would have thought about the pillow or a toilet that’s high up)!
Hi Anne, did you wear a back brace fitted at the hospital and left on through your healing time? I'm getting ready to have my L3-L4, L4L5+L5-S1 this is causing drop foot for me. ==
Interesting vlog. I am related to alot of what you are experiencing. I just day 3 after l3 l4 discectomy
Thank you so much! I'm having surgery on August 28th..
Thank you. Friday for me…L4/L5 Microdiscectomy.
So how do you feel now?
My husband just had this done!! 6 days today, he’s still in terrible neuropathy pain Praying it gets better soon, for him, and me ❤
Did they remove your yellow bands on the lower part of Back? If they did then they caused an imbalance of the whole vertebrae and possibly 😮damage the upper middle part of your back. Said by Jeffery MD
Thanks!
Hi Anne, Can you say if the numbness ever went away ?
That was really helpful, I’m at a week……..way more pain than I ever expected
Thanks for the video, I am considering the surgery.
Had a Laminectomy/discectomy done a month ago, after 3 months of severe sciatica pain. Right after the surgey, the momentt i woke up, the pain had tripled in intensity and has been increasing for a month. Had a new RMI showing the root of my S1 nerve was heavily bruised, and both my L4-L5 and L5-S1 disks had degenerative discopathy. Long story short: refuse fusion/arthrodesis or laminectomy. Insist on getting a disk implant, which you WILL need sooner or later. This will save you a ton of pain and money.
What did you say about the “log roll”? I think you said “backing your hips”. What does that mean?
Hi hope you are still active on this channel , How you feeling now ?? I have also L4/L5 SI disc problem
Please keep me updated I’m really scared I’m just waiting for my surgery date
Had exact same surgery two weeks ago. Two days of oxycodone. Two pills each day. Had no issue walking. Just don’t pick up anything heavy and chill out. Relax and heal. Be super careful and once again heal.
OMG, this is me. Thank you, Thank you.
Just had mine done on Tuesday of last week. Two days of pain killers. Back up walking but driving isn’t fun
Had a lamenectomy and disectomy at l2/l3 …. No more pain! So glad I did it.
❤ thank You
5 days post surgery , l4 l5 laminectomy with partial disc removal. Omg most horrible pain I've ever experienced, still in major pain, heavy duty pain meds barely help. Can't wait for the pain to ease up. Uggh
Are you feeling better?
Ive not had surgery yet bù i need it right now im very disabled by it ,my troubles start from my head to my toes
Just on them r from my surgery. It’s been a month. My his is so helpful. Thankyou
This is my story. Wow
Hello Anne, I see you posted this video more than a few years ago but I was just wondering whether you had to manage stairs post-op? I have a lot of stairs going to my bedroom. Would you advise just sleeping on the couch for say a week to avoid stairs? If that is the case I would have to have some kind of portable loo! Thanks, Jane
Severe stenosis patients may be in for the nerve-chilling shock of their miserable lives (like me) if you fail to physically/mentally prepare for the post-laminectomy ordeal of recovery, i.e. Day 8: I am currently (hopefully temporarily) parlayed from the waist down. Terrifying, if you ask me. I called my neurosurgeon but got a P.A. (Physician's Assistant) who was dismissive of my complaints of pain. Who knew??? Post-surgical sufferers Beware.
How are you now ?
After 3 days I was off meds except at night, driving, walking, doing home therapy, and pretty much was no pain.
Hi Anne how are you now ? I’m having a laminectomy tomorrow
Where you able to go back to office work after surgery?
I'm on day 2 and it's excruciating!!! I'm feeling discouraged because this is so painful.
Did you have surgery?
I'm post laminectomy on two levels. Surgery was 2 days ago and I'm not coping well. It's so excruciating!! Thank you for being so honest and real because this surgery is no walk in the park. I can't wait until it's easy to get out of my recliner and getting into and out of bed.
Bone-chilling pain. Like putting finger in a light-socket times a thousand. Regaining some mobility in hips and lower extremities. Day 8. Buttocks and feet full of some kind of fluid. Body seems to be slowly expelling Anneshia fluid. Both feet swollen.
I just wanted to share with you I am 5 days post op and I couldn't agree with you more!
I hope you are doing so much better, I being dealing with lumbar pain, sciatic pain since almost 10 years ago since I was not even 30 years old , i don't understand why i got this problem , i try contisone injection they work only 2 times ,by the end of 2022 my pain was soooo intense the not even morphine work good at the hospital , then 2023 try the denervation , it work for almost a year , and now the pain the numbness of my leg and the shooting pain came back . looking for same thing that it will help me . please help to get the choose 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi Anne my surgery is November 8th and I'm very very nervous how bad is the pain after surgery
Just got a microdisectomy yesterday on my l5s1 joint. I had leg pain going all the way to my toes and so far I don’t feel any of that anymore. I have soreness in my back but I have a feeling that my doctor took care of the problem. If you are in debilitating pain don’t waste time. Get your therapy and stretching done if that doesn’t work just get the surgery done. I wasted a year of my life in pain questioning if I should get this done but so far I feel I made the right decision. If you have any questions feel free to ask I hope this give some people encouragement
I’m gonna be having an L4/L5 laminectomy and a cervical ACDF same day. I’m so nervous. I’ve never had surgery before and I’m 32. Apparently my surgeon is known all over the place so I guess that is reassuring.
Hi hie are you doing ? I should have mine soon too I’m 36
Who is your surgeon and where is he located?
@@dawntanger1879 I had a guy named Vejvoda here on the west coast. He’s famous for a surgical miracle he performed on a guy with internal decapitation down in Haiti after the earthquakes. Dude pulled the surgery off without all the needed tools by making tools out of oxygen tanks, portable potty pieces, and rocks. Surgeries went well with few complications that have nothing to do with the surgeon, I will have a lumbar fusion surgery in the future and he’s the only one I’ll let do them. Dude is a master.
@@dawntanger1879 weird I typed a reply then it’s gone. My surgeons name is Vejvoda in Washington. He’s famous for a miracle surgery he did in Haiti after the major earthquakes. Young guy was internally decapitated. They didn’t have several tools on day of surgery so he was able to make tools out of oxygen tanks, portable potty parts and rocks. My surgeries were a cake walk for him and the scars are so small. Any complications I had were nothing related to the surgeon. I’ll need a lumbar fusion in the future and he’s the only one I will let touch it. Getting in to see him is a 6 month wait minimum.
Hospital stay should be at least one month no send home next day
I can’t imagine driving 7 days post surgery… you’re amazing!! I’m using a raised toilet seat and thank God for that invention because there’s absolutely no way I could possibly sit on a regular seat….
You’re doing so much better than I at this stage. I was in agonizing pain and I’m no wimp. The constipation was dreadful. I resonated with the worry of removing dressing and showering, which I did yesterday. I was taken aback tbh but impressed. The pain of the sciatica has gone, thank God! Trying to walk as best I can. You’ve inspired me, thank you!
And thank you for this!
Hi there, do you mind me asking how you’re doing now since this video was 5 year ago? I have severe stenosis at L4L5 with herniation with leg pain. Need laminectomy- I know. Just scared. Thank you!
I had lumbar laminectomy 3 days hospital
Thank u for this video. I can't put any details about my injury. Because of my lawsuit. But I'm going have to have same surgery. I put more details later
Did u have fusion also
I had a C5-C6 discectomy fusion. Thanks for the video. It reminded me of AMAZING things I did B4 surgery. I learned self-hypnosis, which HELPED TREMENDOUSLY for the surgery and thereafter! Also, I went to see a Chinese MD who specialized in acupuncture! FABULOUS! His Chinese Medical Approach was TREMENDOUSLY HELPFUL with respect to pain mitigation post0surgery and HEALING!! Good luck, folks!!!
