The Fields of Lights are beautiful in Sensorio and had tributes to the musicians had passed and recently heard the new about the queue of rock and roll with Tina Turner and the Fields of Lights had lit for honor of the lost music icons.

It's great that areas are set aside for hobbiests to explore & dig for fossils, on public and private lands, that keeps alot of potential destructive people in line, unfortunately money oriented fossil collectors still violate both the laws and private property owners rights.I live in the Eastern Sierra near Lone Pine due east of Bakersfield, In excursions out to the Death Valley area we've found huge clusters of shells and sharks teeth in the banks of ancient rivers & washes that were once huge bodies of water at todays altitudes of 6-7k, One area in specific on a mountainside i found a cluster or nest of about dozen eggs, all about 8-10" long & -5-6" in girth that looked to be nested in a gray matrix likely petrified mud , the piece was probably weighed 10 pounds or so & was long separated from whatever matrix it originally came from & now sitting on a gentle sloped surface of heavily patina'd desert pavement. perfectly sand blasted on all sides like as a ventifact There were quite a few broken eggs and pieces of them which until i found the cluster i had no idea what they were Down the slope about thousand foot or more in elevation were many large Razor Clam shells, i presumed fresh water shells as Death Valley and adjacient valleys were massive deep lakes and the area looked to be a remnants of a flat shallow area like a bay with a beach terrace just above it, there many clams in clusters & some isolated single shells, some were close to foot long. 50 years ago i spent a year in Florida diving in small slow moving rivers & streams, finding many pleistoscene bones, horse, mammoth and giant sloth & Camel and some huge 4-6" Meglodon Teeth, that was such a thrill swimming with manatees in the springs & rivers near the coast and finding such great fossils all the while watching out for Alligators & Snakes.. I kept one beautiful Meglodon Tooth. Today i think those places are probably picked out by collectors and sellers, andhunting that sort of thing is illegal in most areas, People sell those fossils on ebay and many RUclips videos from Florida showing people their finds, Just like the popularity of native artifacts taken by grave robbers and looters everywhere, It is a shame especially in the desert southwest some places look like mine fields with so many holes dug in caves and cliff dwellings, walls tumbled down by treasure hunters either climbing over them or thinking there is stuff hidden in the walls.Really sad and pathetic that they have no respect for our ancestors.

Thank you for the excellent video, it really brought back some fond memories. My father had a degree in geology and as a kid, we would stop at every geological place of interest on trips across the country. So many interesting places such as Sharktooth Hill, the Native American Indian artifact grounds near Buena Vista Lake , tar pits and abandoned mines were right here in my own backyard. I'd love to be able to visit Sharktooth Hill again and search for that elusive Megalodon tooth.
