Biggest Tires on Stock Tundra Suspension (2007-2021)
My setup is on stock suspension, the only thing I did was remove the front air deflectors and the brackets that secure them. I don't get any rubbing whatsoever in any direction.
My speedometer is right on verified by GPS.
The ride is better than with the original wheels / tires and the noise is only minimal around 35mph but I don't notice it anymore. No noise at freeway speeds or after 35mph.
Gas mileage is a non-issue (nothing I can do in this 5.7L) and I'm getting 13.5 from this pig. It was the same on stock wheels/ tires, I just drive it and don't worry about it.
The wheels ran me $1600 shipped to my door direct from Method.
Tire prices will vary but they were around $1500 installed lo...

Nice truck, I just got same color 2020 1794 myself. Will be a pavement princesses for now. Will be outfitting it with33s myself
Hey I went with the same setup as you and dang I’m super happy 🤙 thank you
That's awesome, it's a great look on the truck. Glad it worked out!
JKust FYI- you can do a 285/75/18.(34.8")on there just the way it is as well..
I had actually tried that size on mine after I purchased the 18" wheels (20" stock on the 1794), terrible rubbing while turning. I had to downsize to the 33" to get away from that. Even the 33" rubbed until I removed the flaps in front of the front wheels!
@@Matthew-fk2vv odd they fit fine on my 2WD SR5 Had 275/70/18 (33”) before and tons of room around them
@@Matthew-fk2vv I wonder if thats due to the Methods have way less + 25 offest vs +60 stock?
Ahh, yes it's very possible the offset comes into play there. The methods with that offset are the only wheels I tried in 18" also.
@@dougm.635What year is your truck? I have a 2012 2x4 SR5 and i bought 2 275/70/18's. They are like a 300$ tire and i paid 60 each. But im afraid they won't fit. Any input? No lift. After market wheels, but i dont know the off set. Any rubbing?
Look good " i bought Tundra 2018 edition with big tires LT295/60R20 126/123R and when i speed up it makes noise idk cuz of big tired or something els " Your car look good and it makes noise when you speed up or smooth like normal ?
It sounds like road noise from the tires, especially if you have large tread patterns on the tires. I noticed some noise at lower speeds, but not much after that. All depends on the tire design
@@Matthew-fk2vv what size of rims and tires you have ? I'll buy one if it doesn't make noise while driving on the road
Both the wheel and tire size/brand/model are at the bottom of the info for this video if you are interested. That's exactly what you see in the video here
Looks perfect! Thanks for the video, you answered my question too. I wanted the biggest tires with no lift. Got tired of that missed leg day look on my 2013 tundra.
I'm glad I could help somebody! Skipped leg day 😂 I love it
Some blagk door handles would look great imho
I can see that looking good. If I had it to do over again I might have blacked out all the chrome accents.
Thanks for the video! Do you have an IG or any way to view more pics of the truck?
Unfortunately I do not, but I appreciate the interest! I ended up selling this truck last year, as I needed a bit longer bed for what I do. I owned it for 8 years though, and it was great.
This is the look I’m gonna go for with my 2014 1794 edition.
That's a good look you're after, friend 👍
I have 275/65/20's on stock suspension and stock wheels its about 34.1 or so
Wow, that's awesome. 34's indeed! That didn't work for me, 34's locked up like crazy as soon as I turned the wheel.
You can fit larger 295/70/18 tires (Grabber X3), which is 34.3" x 11.6", on a stock 2nd gen Tundra with zero modifications/lifts and no rubbing on OEM +60mm offset wheels. Likely works with +40mm as well
Right on, thank you for that info!
Looks great, 1794 is my favorite package
Thank you, I am crazy about the interior colors!
@@Matthew-fk2vv Mine too! Can’t beat that interior man!
New tundras are horrible looking
They are. I'm very disappointed in Toyota for this. The tiny front windshield obscures vision, and the interior is riddled with thin plastic surfaces, too.
What running boards are those?
Those were a factory option on this model from Toyota
The piece of plastic that is held on by two clips at the front of the vehicle is a Front Mud Flap, not an air dam or spoiler.
That is helpful information, thanks for that!
Did you need any hub rings? Got the same rims
No rings necessary, bolted right up.
Well if you kept the stock wheels you could run a 295/70 18. Those aftermarket wheel offsets suck.
That may have been possible on a different trim that had factory 18" wheels. This truck was a 2016 1794 edition, however. It came with 20" wheels from the factory; so no way would 295/70/18R tires fit on the stock wheels.
Looks good, but I doubt it would also clear tire chains. So that would be a deal killer for me. I'll probably be forced to do a small suspension lift.
I never had chains on it, but you're probably right. Get yourself a 2-4" suspension lift, throw some 35's on there, and be done with it 👍
Hey Sir! We sincerely look for a collaboration with you! Are you interested in trying our Tundra seat covers?
Hi there! I would love to, however I don't have this particular truck anymore. I really appreciate that offer!
@@Matthew-fk2vv Hey! Are you in USA? What vehicles do you have now? Is there another way that I can contact you?🥰
Nice truck . Thanks for the tip
Right on, thank you
How is the road noise as compared to stock tires?
There's a point getting up to 30 mph that I noticed some tire noise. Before and after that, I noticed nothing. Very quiet tires for an all terrain. Love those things.
Did you regear? Any difference in performance? Feels sluggish or same as before?
No re-gearing. It was definitely quicker from a stop with the original tires; way less mass / weight. I felt it the first drive immediately, then I couldn't tell after that. Looked so much better I didn't care.
The tundra already comes stock with 33s what are you talking about?
My truck came stock with 275/55R20. That's a 31.9" tire. There were 2 other factory options for non 1794 editions (275/65/R18 and 255/70/R18) both are 32".
Mine 2023 base came with 32.2 ....true 33 grabbers soon as im not broke any more
How does it ride?
To me, the ride is better than with stock wheels and tires. Less bumps felt and smoother overall.
What are you running again, those look amazing man great truck! Dude
Hey thanks, much appreciated. Those are BF Goodrich K02 tires at 275/70R18.
i fit 35x12.50x20 on my stock tundra 2013
I couldn't even get 34's on mine. They rubbed like that was their job when turning.
Nice truck cat! Thanks for showing me the wheel poke with the +25 offset rims on a 275/70r18 tire. Im on the fence between 275/70r18 and 285/70r18’s. You think i could fit the 285’s with a 2” lift with those method +25’s? I got a 2008 Tundra.
Thanks! I think you could definitely fit the 285 with a 2" lift. I doubt you'd have any clearance issues 👌
Im debating to put 295 on them for my next tire i got 275/70/r18
That is a wide tire, if it fits it will definitely look good. Your truck looks great now though 👌
I got 285s on my tundra. And no rub
Right on, that's a meaty tire
@CTS-USA Just wondering which 285 you have 285/65r18?
I’m running 275/65/20 on my stock tundra which is basically a 34. No rubbing didn’t take any plastic off
Absolutely, that's a 34.1“ diameter tire. No idea how you have no issues but that's great man. What tire are you running on there? Mine was rubbing loudly on that little front air deflector in forward/reverse during full lock turns.
Do you guys know if that size will run with my factory 20” rims?
@@Matthew-fk2vvoff set is what causes clearance issues
Mine I don’t need to take anything’s off 275/55/20 BFGoodrich same.
Nice! I think you didn't have to take anything off because your diameter is 31.9". That makes for a bit more clearance than mine.
@@Matthew-fk2vvI meant275/60R20…I wanna go the same as yours now or 295/70R17.
Got -10 offset on 20x8's, got about 1.5" poke, love my truck with the aggressive stance...and I'm not a douche, I don't think wheel poke should categorize people as douchebags.
I think I said "look like a douchebag SEMA truck." As in those show trucks look douchey to me, not the drivers. You know; a 10" lift with a whole tire width of offset.
why not put flares on them ?
Definitely a viable option, not my style though.
I live in the North East. Flares are the worst thing you could put on a truck. You wouldn't believe the rust that goes on under there. I've had them and clean my trucks like a maniac. But if you don't care or not keeping it long term. Not yourself out.
Looks great, I ran a similar size before moving up to 35s and 17s. I still get 15 ish highway with a 2 inch lift but I aint worried as stock wasnt much better.
Thanks Jason, yeah I agree worrying about mpg on a 5.7l is kinda silly.
Did you run into clearance issues with wheel weights on 17s? I've heard of folks who can't put stick on weights inside the wheel because the caliper knocks them off on 17s. Any truth to that?
Would this work on a 2018 Sequoia?
@@morgangriffith6226 nope never had any issues. Clearances are tight so you have to have a shop that's careful with weight placement. Every time I get my tires rotated through discount tire I will have them check the weights and if any corrections are needed. Been running my setup now for 43k miles and no issues and ive ran a few different 17 inch wheels.
@mr.c493 while I'm not an expert on the sequoia; I'm pretty sure it's a tundra of the same body style without the bed. I'm assuming all the front suspension and dimensions are similar.
What do you mean "Biggest tire size on Stock Tundra"? haha, those are sissy small. You should see my set of Nitto Ridge Grappler, 12.5/35 R18 on my 2016, stock OEM wheels at that too up here in Canucks Country.
Got a 35" tire to clear on stock suspension eh? Sounds like a real beauty.
I went with General Grabber, same as Stock size. They look great with No Mods!
That's a good choice, very similar tread pattern. Solid all terrain tire
@rjnoj-xb5kq I think he has general grabbers in the same size as stock tires, so definitely no rubbing for him. If you go with 275/70/R18 you'll be fine as well though. You might have to remove the front air spoilers like I showed in the video though.
I have those tires on my tundra and they work great.
Looks good. I'm running Nitto EXO grappler LT285/70/R18 on my truck stock.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I liked the sidewall pattern on Nittos, I couldn't get them locally..
Dang, stock can fit that?
Says stock truck in title ...then proceeds with describing his aftermarket custom wheels!? 🤣 Nice looking truck I have 285/65R18 KO2s on my stock rims. And stock truck. They fit great. I've got the new 295/70/R18 on order we'll see how it fits. hope I don't need to lift it 🤣
I was going to change the title, but the first comment on this video called me out on "stock" as well. I'm leaving it now because he didn't follow it with a compliment 😝. I Wish the original wheels were 18's. Not a fan of how Toyota put 20" wheels on these things. I think you're gonna have to use the old heat gun on your fender liners for those 295's. That'll look beefy as hell 👍
Why don’t you like 20 inch rims?
@@preparethewaymovemen To me a truck needs a bit more sidewall than what you get with 20" wheels. I notice a smoother/quieter ride with the 18" wheels too.
Looks perfect. You just saved me. You didn’t want to do the leveling kit?
Thanks, appreciate that. My bed is full of tool boxes & I usually carry ladders/conduit on a rack; I didn't want to have to reach any higher for anything 😝.
@@Matthew-fk2vv would the leveling kit on the front raise the rear? Have you towed with this set up. I was leaning towards 17in but these look perfect with least amount of work possible. Pavement princess has me laughing.
The leveling kit is only in the front, yes. With the weight I have constantly in the bed it actually makes the truck higher in the front though.... So knowing me I'd have to even it out with leaf blocks. If I was going to lift at all; I'd just go with a 3.5" full suspension lift and some 35's. Doesn't serve the purpose of what I do, however. Yes, a lot of us have these "pavement princesses" haha. As for towing I have towed smaller trailers (5k-7k lbs) with no issues. The "Tow/Haul" button on our trucks is magical. Use it when you're not towing and you'll win some races 🤣.
Nice
Not a stock tundra when you change the wheels
Said stock Tundra SUSPENSION
Dumb comment.
not a stock tundra when you change the tires
@@johnconcentriusSo if you get your tires changed on any vehicle it becomes not stock?
Can you not read?
