Mainly a Vlog type channel with many different subjects. Multiculturalism features highly because of our mixed cultural heritage. We do enjoy travel to other countries, usually getting around on motorbikes. As a professional truck driver (trucker), there is the opportunity for several videos from the drivers seat. What year is it
@@trueman1326 She is an early 2020, purchased mid 2021 at discount because it had been sitting on the floor of the dealership for over a year.
Hi, I'm in Wollongong. My wife is from Toril in Davao de sur, Davao City. I'm finally getting a FJR1300 next week too. 😁😊
Oh yeah. we have been admiring the colour of the latest FJR. We were considering an upgrade at one point, but decided against it, as the only difference is the colour ( and about 110,000K). Just a truly magnificently competent machine. We were in Davao in August of this year, slowly uploading footage. We miss the place so much.
I own a Harley Davidson road King classic 2012 bought it from new the only upgrade iv had done after the first service was screaming eagle pipes and a breather kit she's never had any issues sounds like the newer ones have had a few improvements done to them especially the brakes mine have always been pretty average it doesn't look much different from what I can see on the video i paid 35 grand on the road back in 2012 what are they worth now new stay safe and upright
@@SusanWillan g’day. Kinda difficult to know what they are worth these days. Harley no longer imports the Road King, only the special, which seriously doesn’t interest me.
Good ole Morgan and wacker iv bought a few bike's off them over the years is Mark still there my first was a limited edition Kseries BMW K100RS back in the late 80s early 90s then a few Harley's heritage Softail classic 88cui and now a road King classic 103cui 2012 iv also riding an FJR 1300 06 which I use to do my big miles on im never going to sell the HOG you probably no there's a massive difference between the Yamaha and the HD they were in Ross Street Newstead Brisbane when I was living in Queensland i definitely miss your amazing riding weather compared to down south 😊
I have the 06 FJR Yamaha it's done 166kms im having electrical issues when it's turned on and I hit the screen button it rises then it starts if I don't touch the screen button and just turn it on and start it iv got no headlights the blinkers are on but still flash when used have you any idea what is going on someone else' who's got the same bike an 06 and similar KMs think's it's the S4 and S6 wiring spider bite under the tank and fairings the shop is going to have a look on September 2 my ignition switch was renewed only 2 Mths ago and now this issue
@@SusanWillan really wish that I could help you out with some advice, hopefully there is someone here that has had similar issues and can guide you towards a fix. Another option might be asking for help on the FJR owners forum webpage.
Very true mate. It aint perfect, but we are very very lucky.
I have actually stayed at One palm tree villas twice now. Nice and handy to the airport and enjoyed our stay both times. March 2022 and Novemeber 2022 so you were there way before me. Not good news about the MS brother. You chose well to have a Filipina to spend your life with and i'm sure she will take the best care of you possible. Stay safe mate.
@@BrianandTesinthePhilippines thanks mate. MS can be a bitch. However, it is not a fatal disease, it only makes life more challenging. Thinkiing of getting the fjr after a long break from riding but car drivers just don't give a shat these days and im pretty nervous to get back in saddle tbh...
@@FlyingFun. With all due respect mate, please don’t get an FJR. She really is for experienced riders. Please, put yourself on a returning riders course, then purchase something a little smaller, more agile, and certainly a little bit more forgiving. Have the FJR as a goal for a couple of years after your return to riding when you have had some time back on a bike. Please, especially when you yourself are already a bit nervous, by your own admission.
@@swampmarshy yep you are right thanks. I will deffo enjoy a smaller lighter nimble bike more anyway I think. As for a returning rider course that is deffo in my plan. I toying with the idea of an electric, not sure about slow control with those though, no clutch....
I own a 2004 Yamaha FJR...Bought it with 14,000 on the ODO, and now ten years later and 42,000 on the clock with many multi-state tours in the U.S.. This bike is hands down the VERY best bike I have ever owned. 142 hp, tons of torque, comfortable and lots of storage for long trips and a 6.6 Gal fuel tank for max miles between fuel stops.
I love my 2013 FJR1300A. it just does everything I could ask for😊😊
wow - no car... that is unusual. My wife and I share a bike and a car. Car did less that 2000km last year - whereas our Xmax 300 did 15000. FJR is on the consideration list for next bike along with Goldwing.
G'day. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. It's been many years now without a car. Honestly, most times we can work around the situation easily. It's surprising how many places will deliver. So far the only time that we NEEDED a car, we had to take the dog to the vet, urgently, and he is a big dog. Phone a friend to help with that one. Yes, the Goldwing is very much on our radar too.
Was searching reviews l just sold my BMW K1600 GTL after 3 years and pick up my new FJR tomorrow cheers from Brisbane
I’m sure that you will LOVE your new ride mate.
@@swampmarshyhad the FJR 4 weeks absolutely love it just put the original top case on Akraprovic pipes sheepskin cover perfect for Beehmont Mt Glorious etc. Planning on the Oxley highway Thunderbolts way soon
Great to hear that you are enjoying the ride. A well ridden FJR will keep a lot of Sports bikes honest. If nothing else, they will definitely be looking in the mirror a lot with questions in their minds. As a major bonus, when their arses are starting to hurt, we continue to ride on by. Give her some K& N love and let her breath better, she will thank you and reward with a magnificent induction sound above 4.5K revs. As a bonus, after 20,000 K's, she really starts to loosen up and just gets better. Enjoy.
@@swampmarshy l also have a 2017 FJR poverty pack no electronic suspension it's just about got 100,000 only problem was the gear selector switch that fades out on the dash it's also common problem with the FJR
Is this the stock windshield? Mine on the 2018 RP28 looks very different.
Yes. It is most definitely the stock windshield.
Tks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS. @@swampmarshy
My former last bike was an FJR and I loved it to. One of the best bikes I ever had.
The top right ram mount rubber, I miss that one as well 😂
Yeah, I have swapped it out to the Quad Lock system since this video was uploaded.
How wide is the FJR1300 with luggage? I cant find that anywhere! All I find is the 29" spec which I assume is without luggage I believe my little 900 is 35 with panniers so I am guessing the 1300 is well over 40?
Luggage is exactly the same as without. The widest part of the bike is the distance across the mirrors mate.
I often ride Kholo road I love Mt Crosby
Yeah, it's a very pleasant area.
Hi people, just letting you know that I road around Australia in sixteen days on my 2010 FJR loaded to the top. It was a breeze on this bike. Also raced a BMW 1600 from WA to SA and he could not catch me.
That seems like a very interesting journey mate. Did you get the opportunity to get any video footage that you can share with us of your awesome trip?? The FJR is certainly an extremely versatile machine, and very suited to the use that you had. I'm guessing that speed limits were only used as a rough guide and not adhered to.
Considering one as my next bike after a 20 year break here in the UK, I had a Yamaha xv535 so this would be a big step up in size and power but I'm wanting a cruiser that can go fast if need be. I will need to try one out I guess but I'm thinking it will be too much maybe I should get a smaller bike and swap up to this later on? I am seeing lots of older ones for between £2 to £5k.
Sir, may I respectfully advise that you restart your motorcycle lifestyle with something a little smaller in both weight and power. She is a beautiful bike to ride, however she does need to be handled by a person with quite some experience. I wish you well in your journey to get back onto two wheels.
@@swampmarshy thanks, yes I do agree 100% and will go smaller for a couple of years or so, build up my skills and confidence again ( plus no claims discount for insurance. )
After a 30 yr break from riding a motorcycle I bought a 2016es I had a friend ride it home and looked it for two weeks on my back yard. Finally one day got up the nerve to try it, after about ten false starts I got it going almost hit the house but made it to the end of the driveway. I then rode around the block several times until I felt confident and never looked back. It’s a little top heavy so take your respect it and you’ll be fine
@@MrAbshark1 good for you , I'm still on the fence lol, if something comes up I'll go for it ..
Just picked up a 2015 with only 3900 miles on it. Also own a 2005 Goldwing with 15K on it. I will end up probably only keeping one but of course don't know which one yet. Liked your vid!🦾
The Goldwing is a bike that has always interested me, but I've yet to get the opportunity to take one for a ride. As a young teenager I remember watching a man wheelstand a Goldwing near the school bus stop of an afternoon, talk about leaving a lasting impression. Admittedly this was back in the mid '70's, so she was an original without the fairing. Still, no ,mean feat. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@swampmarshy I never wheelied my Goldwings but did just about everything else when I was younger. That would definitely leave an impression. The wing is on my channel, with about 9 other bikes, LOL. I can't imagine life without a wing but FJR----maybe, if it ever gets warm enough to ride it.😁
Nice film. Considering one of these because I'm getting old and I need a fairing! Currently riding a BMW R1200R but I can't bring myself to buy the R1200 or 1250RT because I find it rather ugly and a bit too wide for filtering.
Thank you for the compliment. Yeah, I remember the days of riding with no fairing quite fondly. A few weeks ago, the FJR was in for a service and I was getting around on the old 2006 VStrom. Surprisingly I suddenly have a renewed appreciation for the lovely fairing on the Yamaha. She is a lovely, smooth, and accomplished machine. I strongly recommend trying to get a test ride on one if you can, even an older used one will give you a good idea of what you could be letting yourself in for.
Dogs, Coffee and Motorbikes. This is my kind of channel :)
Nice video. I absolutely adore mine. We have recently come back from a 5000 mile tour to Norway from the UK. Having tried numerous machines, including BMW's. This is the best bike I've ever had.
Hey, 5K miles in Norway sounds like a great trip, post the link here if you upload a video of your journey. Interestingly, the wife and I have recently spent a few days looking at and test sitting on different bikes as possible future replacement. The verdict is that there is not a lot of choice around that offers the comfort, and multi talents of the FJR for similar financial outlay. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
@@swampmarshy The increasing trend of adventure bikes means the FJR is very much in a class of its own these days unfortunately. I did have a K1600GT for a year but it was far too unreliable. I did post a teaser video the other day on my channel riding the mighty Trollstigen. Hopefully I'll have the full tour out soon. Link here: ruclips.net/video/Ikp5gTVXpiE/видео.html Take care :)
Ok, I've just saved the link for watch later (bed time watching), had a really quick look, and I'm hooked already with the opening shot of that mountain road.,What a magnificent view, a road to weep with joy just looking at it.
@@swampmarshy Thanks so much 😊😊
Bought the 2005 model, it does not have anything fancy, but it will be nice to use when riding 2up with the miss. Got the XJR 2000 model when i ride alone. They are both very nice to have. Cruisecontrol does sound nice.
Yeah mate, understand exactly what you are saying. This bike is a pleasure to ride, and I get the same feedback from the wife on the back.
I have used Pirelli Angel GT. Recently put on Michelin Road 5 GT. I really like theses
Yeah mate, fully understand. We’ve got the Michelin Road 6 GT, lovely tyres. Just can’t say enough good things about them.
The Angles turn in more quickly - and a a little more sticky in the wet Angles feel a little noisier on stony black
No compressor at home? I hope you carry spare co2 bottles.
Absolutely mate 👍
Your video is helping convince me I need to buy a new FJR. I'm curious if you know if and when Yamaha is going to produce a 2023 model? I see pictures and video online of a 2023 Yamaha FJR1300. Sexy black paint job with gold wheels, 20th anniversary bike. If I could get my hands on one, I'd probably pull the trigger. I have found a few 2022 in the cobalt blue with black wheels. Still a great looking bike, but I would much prefer the black and gold. I'm Near Phoenix, AZ USA. Also, I'm 6'3" with a 36" inseam. I just sold my 2005 goldwing because it was too short on the leg room for me. Do you think the leg room is adequate, and how about the width? I appreciate any help! Great video by the way mate, thank you for taking the time to help others.
G'day mate. Thanks for watching, and the constructive comment. I've been led to believe that Yamaha has discontinued sales in the USA. I've also been led to believe that there are several other countries where the model has also been discontinued. Here in Australia we can still purchase a brand new one at the local Yamaha dealer, and yes it is the sexy black and gold 20th anniversary. As I'm currently only 5'10" and a bit, I'm not sure how "adequate" the leg room would be for a person of your height. I have noticed that a lot of our Police force are also on the rather tall side, and they don't seem to have any issues with the bike. I'm guessing that they just put the seat in it's higher setting. I've got mine in the lower setting, and it's just fine. The width is not an issue for me, so guessing that you wouldn't have any problems either. Hope that this helps with your final choice.
AE DONT HAVE HAND CLUTCH... THIS IS NOT A AE
Here in Australia 🇦🇺 the AE does have a clutch. Different areas of the world have different model designations. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thanks for sharing this. I am interested in this bike as my next. How tall are you? How do you find the screen and the seat? Thanks for the answer. You got my like. p.s. Drop by man. You may like it.
G'day, sorry for the delay to reply, life kinda got in the way. To answer your question. I'm 178 cm's (a little over 5'10" in the old scale). At my height I find the seat to screen fit is very good. The seat is surprisingly comfortable over a long period of time. The screen creates a bubble of calm air. Note, it doesn't stop the airflow, it just makes it calmer, resulting in no buffeting. Have stopped by several times, found to be interesting mate. Have a great day and thanks for watching.
@@swampmarshy Thanks a lot for this answer. Appreciate it. Also for stopping by. :) This bike is still among the top three for the next season.
What do you think about the stock seat. My 2010 model stock seat was crap
G'day. We have found the stock seat to be more than acceptable. We've not had any issues on some reasonably long (8+ hours) riding days. Got a bit tender on hour 5 of day three, but show me a bike with a stock seat that doesn't. I'm looking at potentially getting an Airflow seat cover but, to be honest, I'm not sure if the expense is worth it for what would be a marginal improvement. Unlike fitting the same cover to our 2006 Vstrom, where it was a massive improvement and money well spent. I hope that this helps answer your questions mate.
Not one sorry wave …that speaks volumes
Yes there are some bad drivers in the video but the cam view driver is no angel either. One hand and sometimes one finger on the wheel, driving to fast for the conditions.
Thank you for watching, and for taking the time to comment. Love the fact that this video is still attracting views and comments when it was originally uploaded in 2014. To the best of my knowledge it is not against the law to drive with only one hand on the wheel. Not recommended, but not against the law. define too fast for the conditions. ... after all of these years, you are the first to mention that point. Keep in mind, the camera being used can be deceptive on the distances. Thank you for your time.
@@swampmarshyAnd still being seen in '23. 👍 I certainly don't see any speed issues on your part. 👍 Unlike many around you.
Hi which is the temperature of engine in a hot day 30.35 degrees on highway or in traffic of city
I would seriously love to be able to accurately reply to your question. I've never really taken a lot of notice, accept to say that from memory it was about 85 ish. However, as we are currently in the middle of winter here in Australia, with daily temp high of 19 21 degrees, it will be a few months until I can accurately check and verify that. So sorry that I can't be of more help, maybe someone else will be able to comment with accuracy.. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
No it's not a sport bike but man can she move, comfortable , smooth, quite and head turning.
Yeah, totally agree with you mate. She is a bit of a big old girl, but quite capable of a surprising turn of speed, and a little more agile than she probably should be. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, we do appreciate it.
Great vid! Bought my 2009 AE in 2015, my first, “heavy bike!” Logged 76,000 miles in 2.5 years. Absolutely amazing machine. Wish Yamaha would sell the AE model in US for last year of FJR. I’d buy one in a heartbeat! Ride safe…

I’m a “white-van-driver” and I swear some days my “road-whale” MUST be invisible owing to the number of near misses I conquer on a daily basis! Hats off to all the road warriors!
Ah, you see you are apply the thought process that they are actually looking. we all need to remember that other traffic (or pedestrians) are secondary to adjust anything and everything within their vehicle, or staring at the screen of the phone. Nobody will ever see you if they are not looking in the first place.
@@swampmarshy ....... or simply see the big white “road-whale” as a mirage and blindly pull out in front of you anyway!
Was in Sydney last week and Ive come to the conclusion that only some cars sold these days have blinkers. Either that or there are WAY TOO many thoughtless a-holes around today. Geez its not asz if the damn blinker stick is in the back seat. Its less than 100mm aways you you pricks. USE IT.
The most pointless occupation in the world, the person on the production line fitting the indicator. They would know that there is a large possibility that this simple switch may never be used in its lifetime. This is especially true when fitted to BMW.
They forget to fill up the Blinker Fluid 😂
Usually, P platers and Ute drivers doing it wrong. VW drivers far worse the beamers
Some of them may have very short fingers.

Glad that you enjoyed. Hope that you get all the information you want. Over the period of too many years I’ve owned many bikes. Totally loving this one 👍
Which state are you in, ????
G'day, we are in Queensland mate.
lol the traffic is dogshit these days compared to this
I live in Queensland and the lane filtering says no more than 30km not 40km
www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/rules/motorcycle
And you can filter on the sides of the road as long as the speed limit is above 90 and the traffic has come to a stop or moving below 30km/hr and you can not exceed 30km/hr. Perhaps you should read the road rules in the link I provided above as you would be breaking the law if you are lane filtering above 30km/hr
Well how about that. The powers that be have subtly changed the speeds since it was first introduced. I'm glad that you have brought this to my attention, I'd hate to be done by plod while thinking that I was correct. For some strange reason the RUclips gods have decided that the link that you provided is not to be seen by any of us. Even I can't view the link. I find this very annoying, because it would be great if it was visible for all to see. I follow the rules mate, and I am 100% certain that when originally allowed, it was at 40km/hr. It really wouldn't surprise me if they had changed it.
@Christopher Bradshaw-Chancellor I recon that you are probably right mate.
2.33.. no I wouldn't have.. cred to you mate 👍
Thank you
You have the patience of a saint. I'd have smashed the fuckers... :)
No. I think that would not really solve anything, and would quite possibly escalate the situation into a very untidy situation. I do however fully understand the feeling of wanting to do that.
HAHA lived in Brisbane for 4 years.. nothing new to me....
Yeah, I'm sure. Just out of interest, this video was originally uploaded in 2014. It's almost frightening that nothing seems to have changed.
@@swampmarshy Most people never change. Easy solution is to turn the tunes on the car and cruise and leave a car space in front of the car ahead. Never have had an issue.
And I thought all the idiots picked on me! Looks like I have a soul brother......unfortunately you see these motoring dingbats on the road every day and in numbers
LOL :) No, they don't just pick on you mate. I've learnt that they definitely do like to share the experience with as many other road users as possible.
typical day in Brissy, these dopes obviously vote Labor, they don't have the brains to think for themselves
Please don't bring political issues and opinions here. a simple "these dopes can't think for themselves"is enough.
In Thailand...if you've got a dash cam like you've got....and the number plates can be read....you go to the cops there...they give you 30% of the fines they recover from the culprits.... You've got 100 bucks just in this video here....
LOL. Now that is food for thought. I like Thailand, have traveled there quite a few times. I even have a video of it here on my channel. Thanks for the interesting information.
@@swampmarshy But in Thailand a bad situation is when someone jump out of their car with a machete....I smashed 2 of them like that and the police thank me.....
@@jeanchardonnay5627 😮
@@swampmarshy 70% of drivers are drunk in Thailand....
Really. I certainly never noticed it that bad on my travels there. I did notice a few in the Pattaya area, but they were mostly tourists that were drunk, not the Thai's.
