I’m an idiot who will cause some sort of damage if I have to “fabricate” anything. No holes - but it would be cool to show the fabrication process / tools needed.
Mercury 30 and below. 40-60 are a completely different outboard.
Hey awesome content, which range of jigs you use with oti slow pitch jig. (?)
40-80g
This was super helpful. Great video, thank you!
Bry's in Neptune has the best prices around, especially on engines with no scam fees!
Wow! This dish is amazing! I love your education and presentation! I'm definitely going to pull this recipe out for Thanksgiving! So perfect 🥰
Excellent video and plus recipe what more can one ask for.. i saved the video.. thanks👌🙂
Also I was wondering if with the 30 gram slow fall pitch jigg, if you guys caught any porgies with such , I'm also as well learning it..thanks for the replies..
Sorry for late reply. Bad year for us. No Porgies yet. But we will be trying to focus on them in the fall
I like my porgy just baked with the first steps. I don't like it swimming in all of that sauce....I don't want to give that poor fish the illusion it's been resurrected. 🤣Thank you chef!! 😋
Thanks! Good input.
14" Fish?
Keepers are 12.5"
NJ Reg question. Speckled trout are a different species than weakfish according to wiki. Do the weakfish regs apply to Speckled trout?
I believe they do and yes they are different species.
I hope you guys are okay, we haven't seen any new videos in a while?
We are good now. We had several life events that set us back this year 2023. We are planning on starting up new vids very soon.
I'm sorry to hear you had a rough year, but I'm glad to hear things are much better now. Best of luck, and I hope to see you guys out on the seabass grounds soon.
Delicioso!
Thanks! More coming from Master Chef Mike!
Genius
Thanks! I wont take credit for building this. there are plenty of other videos out there suggesting the same method. I do find this easier and faster to build our dropper rigs, especially in the winter. Always a good idea on knowing how to tie a dropper manually if you need one when you are on a jetty or on the boat. We like to tie a bunch and leave a bunch without any rigs so they can be rigged for the day or season. Thanks for watching!
wow .. people are really missing this excellent video .. congrats chef this is really excellent :)
Thank you so much 👍
So that was not flour .. i see now the box says WONDRE. ok still dont know what it is but will look
Yes Wondra
This looks perfect.. out of all the recipes i trust this is great. Like the crispy touch you added. thank you chef !!
My pleasure 😊
I weld these boats and other duranautic boats and I gotta say they are really solid boats and we put a lot of work into them. Good luck out there while you’re out on the water guys!
Thanks!
Lund or Duranatic? Your opinion
I don’t understand what is considered saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing. I live next to Newark Bay but it’s a mixture of saltwater and freshwater. Is that still saltwater fishing? Do I need a license? I sign up for the free saltwater fishing but idk if the bays are considered saltwater. If you can clarify this for me it’ll be a big help, thank you.
Waters near Newark are considered brackish and mix salt and fresh with the tides. My understanding is that a license in not needed near Newark waters.
@@fromthetidetoyourtable4806 Thank you, I went to the bait shop yesterday and the owner said the same thing. Earned yourself a Sub.
Setting my DuraNautic up and I was wondering how you installed your cleats? I was going to use self tappers but wasn’t sure if they’d pull out. Thanks
Hi. Yes, I used self tapping machine stainless screws. Made a pilot hole first. Holds fine. I think they were about 1.5" or 2" long. I'm not happy using screws instead of bolts but I could not get washers and nuts on them. I will check the front cleat, I think I was able to use bolts there, but the aft cleats are screws for sure!
Love your Videos ! Were you fishing for Blowfish around the BA or BB Buoys ?
South of BB and then south of BI. West side of bay. Depends on tide and wind but I usually look for 8ft or more of water. That day it didnt seem to matter. Chum, chum, chum!!!! We used rabbit food and it worked great, no mess, and easy to store. My wife hates when I keep chum in our freezer.
@@fromthetidetoyourtable4806 Thanks again for your reply and for the great videos !
I bought the same boat yesterday at brys. I was told they no longer make the floor inserts…… did you guy ever get some sort of floor in there??
No unfortunately but we plan to make our own at some point. Thanks for watching 👍
@@fromthetidetoyourtable4806 Excellent! Great channel
@@DJClappedCheeks1 thanks for the support Have a great season!
Hey dude, just subscribed. I’m fishing the jersey shore from Thursday to Sunday this week. Today is Tuesday. Where are the spots near the mantaloking area? Surf, jetty. And clam or lures. I wanna make sure I can haul in as many fish ( mostly stripes) as I can. Of course you can only keep one but I still would like to catch them. You seem like they guy that knows what’s up. Anyways, good luck this spring striper run!
Thanks for subscribing. Sorry, been away from computer for a few days so I'm late getting back to you. Fishing from the jetty in Mantaloking is good but for stripers you can fish from shore. Read the shore and look for pockets, holes and eddies during low tide and then fish those at high tide. From shore, use fresh clams. You can also throw plugs. At this time of year I would throw a swimming bait and not top water or sand eel imitations yet. Save those for the fall. Good luck.
Absolutely perfect presentation look yummy👍
Thank you 😋
nice chef
???
Wow that was easy and looked fantastic. Thanks for the video
Glad you liked it!
Oh! I like that recipe ,I want some!

@@fromthetidetoyourtable4806 This recipe looks fabulous !! Not sure if he kept the fish for another 20 minutes after flipping or for a less time.. on the other side in the oven ? Wanted to thank the chef for such wonderful presentation and great recipe ! :) I was really wondering how to make it in the oven.. Thanks
@@georgewashington3555i think 20 mins for each side or until cooked
Oh man! I want that! It looks so delicious
So good!
Always good information
So nice of you
HVery good information. From now on I will follow your instructions
Glad it was helpful!
I didn’t think people eat porgy , I use them for bait.
One of the best fish there are. Not fishing and best white flakey meat.
Looks delicious, thank you. I’ll have to try this, if I can find some porgies. How deep do you typically need to go to get them out of Barnegat inlet? Do you find them on the inshore wrecks and reefs, or do you need to head out to deeper water?
We do better up north out of Manasquan by sea girt reef, but we have found them at garden state north reef about 9 miles south of barnegat and about 80 ft deep. The picture of Chef Mike holding one was right at the Barnegat (aka Tires) reef outside of the inlet about 3miles NE. We use clam for bait.
The recipe looked sooo good. Where's my porgey+ son?? It's one of my favorite fish+
Coming soon.
Wow Chef, that looked awesome and I don't eat porgy. I would definitely try it. I'm in Forked River and Ill trade you a fishing trip if you cook the days catch. Thanks for the video.
Send us a comment in the future and we will try to hook up for a trip and we can cook the catch!

Nice video ! Were you fishing near Seaside Park or down on LBI ? I just moved to Beachwood and want to try fishing for Blowfish this Summer for sure. Thanks
Yes, this is in Seaside Park. If you are looking for Blowfish, check out our videos on fishing for them. We fish from boat anywhere from Lanoka Harbor and south in about 10ft of water. Chumming is critical. If you fish from land, the fishing piers along the bay coast are good and I think there is one in barnegat further south from you. We did catch them in the Toms River, but not in any good numbers. Feel free to ask us more questions. We've been fishing our bay for the past 30 years.
@@fromthetidetoyourtable4806 Thanks so much for the information. Good luck this season
You know what? I grew up in the 80's on eastern Long Island. Thats pretty much all we used? 14' and 16' aluminum boats. I always lusted for a larger boat (privateers, steiger craft etc) Guess what? That 16' can hang with pretty much anything you will face on those Jersey bays. Why spend so much money? Hey, how many persons in that boat rated ? Thanks for the great video
Actually , i saw the capacity sticker. 7 Persons. cool
Hi Thanks for the comment. The boat says it is raided for 7 persons. I'm good with 4 men, maybe more if mixed with size. I have to check but I think weight was 950lbs. Great boat. My only complain is when I'm alone, the boat is too light at the bow and shoots for the stars. I',m going to load it with a cooler full of water, maybe beer ha ha , when alone. A bit scary not being able to see much even on plane. When I go with my crew, it is beyond great!
Looking forward to the install.
thanks should be by spring
Looks really delicious
It was! Thanks!
great tool & info new to fishing our area ..... looking forward to BB Bay fishing tip
Thanks for your comment. We are looking forward to more how-to videos including some boat upgrades and new fishing equipment. Stayed tuned!!!
That looks very good Chef! Thank you for the recipe!
Hope you enjoy. Send us any questions you may have and we will assist as much as possible!
Fantastic.! Thank you. Very precise information
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video with good information. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
The best thing about jigging and SPJ is you arent wasting time cutting baits and rehooking. Even if you miss a fish you are right back in the strike zone in a second instead of reeling up and rebaiting. I havent used bait for sea bass in over 5-6 years. And the biggest sea bass always come on the jigs. You can literally leave your jig in the strike zone and wait for the right bigger hit to set the hook.
Very true and thanks for your input. As for us, we are new to jigging for sea bass regardless of method. We have always been bait fisherman for bottom. I got hooked watching some Florida videos on SPJ and we were thrilled when we worked it for sea bass. Our last video was for Striped Bass and we did very well on SPJ. We always jigged for Stripers with jigs, but slow pitch is lighter, better action and we focus on our speed, depth and jig patter. And you are right, no smelly bait !!!
I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching. More coming. Share with your friends.
